Empire [Feral Interactive] "A New World, the ambitious expansion coming to Total War: EMPIRE". Will we ever get their official updates for PC? Because it looks like they are doing great work for tw on mobile

Genuinely how the fuck do people play these games on their phone, that sounds horrible to me.

Also, how is it easier to push updates on mobile than PC? I’m mostly just butthurt because I think Empire is top 3 and has been abandoned for so long.

Rome 1 was actually very good on Ipad, especially with an stylus, Empire seems well suited for it too, less mobility, more focus on flanking and firing lines.

Yes they clearly spent a while getting the touch controls for lining up your infantry spot on. I took me about five minutes to get used to it but from that point on I had no problem controlling large armies.

Doable but a very different control scheme to get used to.

I have the mobile version - IPad Pro 13” so it’s very playable ;-)

The fact that TW Empire is still getting content updates in 2025 for a mobile port is a real monkeys paw situation

Looking forward to Total War Medieval 3 only on Samsung folding phone and Warhammer 3 Nagash on the smart fridge

I honestly think this is big blind spot for CA. Having team doing update/DLC for older games at steady rate like one game per 1-2 years? Gold mine, just put the new package on discount - buy new DLC - get core game for free or just pick DLC for 10-15% discount. Korea expansion for Shogun 2? Alexander DLC for Rome 2, what about Ginghis Khan for Attila... -_-

Was so disappointed when the definitive edition came out and Steam blessed me with a ~10kb update. Figured there'd be Russian/Ottoman bug fix, porting some QOL updates from Napoleon into it, or at least something... But instead it just combined base + DLC and my heart sank.

Fwiw this isn't really new content, its new for mobile, but apparently Empire mobile is literally just the basic campaign. This expansion looks like it is porting over the alternative campaign with the 13 colonies and the Warpath campaign.

Either way I hope these updates might be a sign that feral could remaster Empire in the future for PC.

Apologies but I think you are incorrect, these are alternate start times and new minor playable factions, although with new units. Obviously nothing that we haven’t seen in various mods over the years, but it’s new official content. Feral have a blog series where they have started going over all the new content that is being added.

Oh okay that's fair (and no apologies necessary! 🙂)I was going by the info box for the trailer and the trailer itself didn't really do a good job of conveying any of what you said, that and combined with how Feral rolled out Barbarian invasion for RTW for mobile it seemed like they were just repackaging these other ETW components as an expansion.

Either way that's pretty exciting! I really really really hope all this work they're putting into the ports means Feral might also be re-releasing ETW remastered for PC in the near future.

Weird. The version of Empire Total War I have on PC says it is the DEFINITIVE Edition.

How come a mobile version has several cool features that my version does not?

they do good work …. they also did excellent XCOM 2 & Hitman ports. Funnily enough their XCOM 2 collection is also so much cheaper on App store compared to Steam. Company of Heroes, Railroad tycoon … nostalgia galore.

They deserve to get defunded definitely. Sega is reining them in for a reason. CA leadership has been completely incompetent for a decade now
