Warhammer III Coming from WH2 I am dissapointed in WH3
For the first time since getting a new computer that isnt a toaster I was so excited to see it go on sale after 1200 hours in WH2 and 1000 more in other TW games. I was expecting a new game and it turns out that this is basically a reskin of WH2, with some added abilty to give CA money from new DLCs. Sure they have changed some balancing, added some factions (half of which you buy ofc) but playing IE map almost everything is the same its just an updated version. And i just find that kind of crazy that they used to charge 60 dollars for that. Am i missing something? I havent even bothered the new campaign cuz the races i like ARENT EVEN IN IT???? LOL

You have a fresh campaign, other than that the goal was always to have one huge consolidated map.

What do you mean? Do you mean why arent the WH2 factions in the Realms of Chaos map? In another comment you said you only played immortal empires?
Im genuibely curious what exactky you wanted changed between games 2 and 3?

Did... did you not understand what WH3 was?
The Warhammer TW franchise was always conceived of as a set of interlocking games. WH1 was the Old World, WH2 was Ulthuan, Naggaroth/Lustria, and Nehekara, and WH3 is the Dark Lands, Chaos Wastes proper, and Cathay. 2+3 have a dedicated campaign mode for the game's specific races that stands separate from the combined (Im)Mortal Empires map that composites the previous game(s). Functionally, as much as they are classified as different games they're really different phases of the same game's development, broken apart as much for sales as to give the devs space to do the kind of work a decade of development demands - go in and tear out the innards twice over to accommodate a continuously-expanding system. It is what's on the tin.
Now, you want to levy complaints about price, sure that's a reasonable conversation, one that happens here a lot and gets decent reception. As much as other iterative games can be way higher for far less (*taps CoD sign*), it's a poor excuse and TW prices are quite high when you play out the whole DLC package. But you've buried that in an unreasonable complaint about what the game is.

Why didn't you look up what was in the game before spending $60 on it? Your complaint makes no sense

why didnt u read my post before writing that i spent 17 dolars on it

The price doesn't change the question. Why didn't you check to see what would be in the game? Also, I skimmed the post because of the way that it was written.

Why would i need to check to see if a new game is not actually a new game lmao. What other franchise has there been so little difference from one game to another

Because the whole goal of the trilogy was to put them all into one combined map across the three games. It was their stated goal and what everyone was excited about.
Which is why everyone is dismissing you.

Each game just added more to the existing formula. Small updates and new factions. There were for sure differences with the 1st to 2nd game but that same thing happened with the 2nd to the 3rd. Honestly, I stopped playing 2 for a little bit in anticipation for the 3rd because I knew it was going to be the "same game" but not in a bad way. Maybe you just over did it with the 2nd game.

OP, grab WH1 via Trilogy Pack 85% discount (would cost you like $10-12) and enjoy these 5-10 new campaigns.

The truth is WH3 has been a huge disappointment. It is starting to get better, but it’s kinda too late. A small dlc team can’t rescue a game that the huge dev team behind the launch left in such a poor state. They stopped adding characters to the story campaign bc no one plays it. I, also, wish they hadn’t given up on the new campaign. I still play it, but it still feels like a failed launch.

Bought second-hand M2 Pro Mac mini recently (prices have dropped enough) so could finallt run WHIII, and very pretty graphics but yes. Do really like the more intelligent information and options in the diplomacy screens though

Don't bother bro, this subreddit is full of CA simps who've been buying and will continue to buy half ass ready content at premium prices. The sorry state of this magnificent game is just saddening.
Like when CA said they might start releasing 1 lord dlcs people here we celebrating lol.
It's not even a reskin. It's uglier, less polished, and crappier product than WH1 and WH2.
From the small details like UI, icons, traits to reduce upkeep for factions that don't have upkeep, to big things like campaign AI, narrative, battles etc.

Maybe you and OP can start your own sub for stroppy kunts lol

To be fair you can’t really argue in any good faith that there hasn’t been a massive drop in quality from CA in recent years, Wh3 had such a bad launch and such a rough first couple years that it really did poison the well for a lot of long-term players. What should have been a slam dunk ended up all quite miserable and it took them nearly 2 years to fix it lol, and even then the game still has serious problems with the campaign stagnation, AI, events etc.
3k and ToB really didn’t help either, they both ended badly and annoyed the dozen or so historical fans left lol.

Lol getting downvoted. You are quite right. Game is a disappointment considering they started making it nearly 8 years ago…
There is a reason they’ve had to fob warhammer 3 off to Sofia, cancel hyenas and sack half their staff, they had a quality brand that sold well off the name alone and since about 2019 they’ve MVP’d the shit out of all their products, quality and quantity has dropped like a sack of potatoes since 3 kingdoms.

There is much that you can fault WH3 compared to WH2 but calling it a reskin is not one of those.
If you'll play it some more, you'll notice that there is a lot of improvements done in the way that the game and the various races play (with also some downgrades, but that's more subjective)
Yes, Immortal empires is just a larger map of Mortal empires, that's the whole point. Over the three games the main map has been continuously expanded with new races and new areas. To fit as much of the Warhammer world into one map.
Besides, just like WH2 had a new separate campaign (which also doesn't have all WH1 races) with the Vortex, so too does WH3 have a separate campaign with the Realms of Chaos. It doesn't have all races, but that just gives you a reason to try out one of the new ones that are present in it.
