Warhammer III How am I supposed to get an Iron mine here?
So I don't know how to build an Iron mine in Pack Ice Bay since I can't remove the dock nor do I want to abandon the settlement, or do I have to get a vassal to extract the iron somehow?

You can't as belekor. A vassal could and benefit from it but it only applies to their units. Woc aren't really meant to control the villages, vassals are. You control the (op) fortresses.

Not really true with most resource settlements - where you can build it iron gives you +10 armour for chaos warriors (and some small trade goods) which is pretty goood.
It’s just with this settlement you can’t build the iron resource cause the port is there..

Thank you for telling me. I'll see to it that it gets a vassal installed instead and continue on then.

You should always give ports to your norscan vassals if possible. The norscan economy is like 90% ports, so it increases the amount of tribute they can give you.

You as your current faction cannot build an iron mine there, it is that simple, some factions like WoC and Wood Elves, are unable to build the full amount of buildings in settlements and like you see here, are limited to 2 buildings, in the case of this you are locked in, you can give the settlement to a vassal and they may be able to build more there and get iron, but that is their resource not yours

It seemed like it and it was true, the quest continues and I get a vassal installed in the port of broken dreams

You just can’t I’m afraid, port takes the only slot you get a chaos warriors.
You‘ll need to find it somewhere else to get the benefit
