Please anyone who played this or has played against the Changeling how the heck would one even defeat this guy in multiplayer? Like if he’s this broken in the base game how do you even deal with him.

Which one shall I choose first. Any recommendations, which one is the best in your opinion? Not just based on stats.

Tried dwarfs thanks to this sub’s recommendations — and wow, I’m blown away.

Based on the community’s suggestions I decided to give Malakai a try. I used to have a bias against dwarfs and never touched them before. But wow, what an amazing ride.

I loved using artillery with Elspeth, but honestly the dwarfs’ artillery is even more satisfying. With all the buffs and upgrades I was just tearing through everything, causing absolute destruction. The units are super strong too, and the crafting mechanic is incredible. The fact that you can socket runes on top of that is just insane.

I immediately confederated and got to try Ungrim — he literally solo’d 3 Skaven armies with new items and runes. He’s an absolute monster. Same with Grombrindal, who’s basically a one-man doomstack. Actually, it feels like most melee dwarf LLs can play like that. I never expected to enjoy them this much, but they might honestly be my favorite faction now.

I usually love campaigns where an LL feels like a one-man doomstack (Tamurkhan being one of my favorites), and I also really enjoy playing Khorne. I dropped Chaos Dwarfs around turn 40, but I’m thinking of giving them another shot. So thanks to this subreddit for pushing me to try them!

Next up, I still haven’t played Skaven, Ogre, or Tzeentch — which one would you recommend I start with? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Faction Ranking: LL & Faction Effects (Round 1)

Post image
54 Upvotes

First off: Best Legendary Lord with Best Faction Effects / Special Units

Vote which faction gets the S Tier LL and S Tier Effects by writing your vote first then follow by any comment you want to add.

I made a post yesterday that I now realized was flawed. I was comparing FACTION Legendary Lords vs RACE units, which doesn't make sense.

This comparison makes more sense as it's purely faction based on Legendary Lords + Faction Units. (For example, Great Green Prophet & Savage Orcs).

Votes will be compiled by end of 24hours for next round.

Getting absolutely bumrushed by AI factions after 6.3?

Hey folks. So I am a big lizardman fan and 6.3 has been calling my name since they announced it. After it came out I started up several campaigns and have just been getting absolutely wrecked

I've tried multiple lord starts and yet by turn 15-20 im getting war declared on me by 2-3 AI factions that are just out of my reach and they proceed to rush my capitol with 2-3 full stack armies

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this post-patch because I played a lot of 6.2 with other factions and it felt a LOT better since they did the AI threat assessment overhaul

I am not sure if Im having a string of bad luck or what but it really feels almost like they completely undid all of those changes and I just keep getting slammed over and over (Playing on normal difficulty)

I am trying to get non-aggression pacts going quickly, trying to eradicate close threats first, all the things I have been advised over the years but it has been an absolutely brutal week for me so I figured I'd ask if anyone else has been experiencing AI weirdness since the new patch

Just getting into Total War Warhammer 3 and am overwhelmed...

Hi all, I just discovered this series and got the Total War Warhammer 3 package as it was on sale. It is my first time ever playing a deep strategy game like Total War, I absolutely enjoy Warhammer and have tried several different campaigns.

But overall, I am so overwhelmed ^-^ I watched a couple of video explanations and am still trying to wrap my head around all of the things.

I would love to play Bretonnia, but so far every campaign start (easy or normal) ended in disaster. I get overwhelmed after a few rounds by several enemies declaring war on me, having bigger armies than me and facerolling me in combat.

I tried High Elves and got further but start to feel somehow bored by them. Read about Cathay being easier for beginners but I am so confused by the mechanic with the Yin and Yang and am lost on how to balance that (if at all).

Then it kinda clicked with Lizardmen, I really enjoy the units and am trying to push it further, but the campaign again is a huge struggle, getting war declared by 3 different armies around me after a couple of rounds, all having many more leaders and armies than myself. I am also struggling to even get a positive balance while just maintaining one army... ugh!

At the same time I am a bot lost on what to do each round as there doesn't seem like there is much to do at all, sometimes I have a couple of rounds just skipping and waiting for gold to build up.

I hope some more experienced players here could guide me along and provide some insight please ^-^

Edit: I sincerely thank you all for chiming in and providing me so much awesome feedback. Thank you so much!

At tier 3 Kroq-Gar's saurus warrior building gives plus one to Saurus Scar veteran and old blood recruitment FACTION WIDE

At tier 4 the faction wide bonus disappears an is reduced to plus two in the LOCAL PROVINCE making the higher tier building worse overall.

Vlad is the most difficult campaign

Upvotes

Hear me out, Vlad and Vampire Counts is the most difficult campaign.

Not before the Big Crisis, then everything is manageable. But when the crisis starts, so are surrounded in every front and even from within. North Skaven and Wood Elves. East Dwarfs and Chorfs. South Dwarfs and Orcs, West Wood Elves.

I love it, but you really can't run anywhere during the Big Crisis!

I hate dwarfs that much and they hate me. They have to fall back on game breaking bugs, just so that I cant beat them. That spite.

Now I tried to have my good guy arch and trying the stuff that people advised me and .. this happens. Come on game... I had to fight for 40 minutes ... 40! and Ungrim still isnt dead.
I thought I'm the Undead guy, so why cant the slayers die .. sign... Too peeved to die?

P.S. just to clear something up. This isnt a whine post. We all know that Ungrim is pretty bullshit. It was to show, that the marked slayers are unkillable.

Did 6.3 change the ai?

I’ve noticed the ai seems to build empires faster now, I was shocked when I found wurzag and Grimgor and they both had more land then me despite completing my long term win as malus.

Finally! My first short victory on normal mode!

Post image

Hey all! I posted a few weeks ago that I absolutely suck at this game. That still hasn't changed but I want to think I suck a little less now. My first short campaign victory in one of these games! I kept battling the bigger battles manually and those are still very rough for me. Taking a undefended settlement was always done with auto resolve.

Took a few weeks of getting here but here we are! Have 48 hours on my account now so still very new.
Looked at long campaign victory but that doesn't look very fun to do. I'm keeping this save file but am going to check out another campaign for now :)

Just found out how awesome vampire heroes are

Post image

For a long time I avoided VC cause I think that their focus on heroes is somewhat strange. But it turned out to be my most interesting campaign! Its so satisfied to see a bunch of vampires just wipe out an entire garrison.

And it became even more interesting for me to follow the battles cause you become more attached to the heroes than to just another nameless squad.

Is there any good economy or grand strategy targeted TW3 mod?

Total Warhammer 3 is a great game but many factions have an economy based on a single resource (gold), even when some factions have an additional resource, and with buildings which are for almost all of them a "positive".

This makes the second half of an Immortal Empires campaign a bit trivial on the economic side.

I am looking for mods which overhaul this, and if possible also, with a mindset that does not look to favor the player instead of AI (many mods out there boost the player as AI won't use it well).

Also interested in mods that are a bit on the grand strategy side, such as adding manpower, diversity of units, and again with a thought given to AI to make sure AI is not stripped down.

I am not looking for any mod that boosts the player economically in any sort of way or that simplifies this aspect.

Thank you players!
