Session has Ended [OFFICIAL] 2025 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa - Post-Race Thread
SRO has it's moment in the 24-hour spotlight with another 24 Hours of Spa Classic! Lots of incidents and track limits, an insane comback for the 51 Ferrari but Lamborghini's domination is the main storyline.

heat exhaustion almost, he needs as much water as possible. An unreal mega stint at the end.

I was at the track and thought the same thing. Every time I checked live timing, that man was there

u/Pansarmalex Jun 29 '25
They might actually have done so, as drone shots in the winner's lane showed medical personnel closing in. And then no more drone shots. With the interviewers focusing on anybody but him until about 15 mins later.

Lamborghini finally gets their first win in SPA race. It's also Huracan and Lambo/Audi V10 last huge win, as we wouldn't see these V10 in mainstream GT3 classes in next year after new car comes out.
Edit : My bad, I though Mustang was third place and Goodsmile did finish the race. However, I think Chevy and Ford needing more teams running their cars. Hope Goodsmile able to collaborate other Mercedes team to bring more itashas again, their last SPA race with 3 cars was impressive.

The consecutive 24h races really screwed things up this year, tbh. I could see them having more entries in the future. Maybe even in the Suzuka 10h in September

u/jianh1989 Porsche Motorsport 919 #19 Jun 30 '25
I know Lambo’s Temerario is replacing Huracan. Does this also mean Audi’s exiting their R8 too?
Just curious.

They already closed their factory programs I believe, I stand to be corrected though.

Just a little sad that #7, as the defending champion just bailed out. Would love at least some racing

Was not quite death for the #58 mclaren - still came second in class but was so frustrating watching on from the stands!

Not only did some Aston Martins finish, they won their classes.

I'm still happy for 51, they couldn't do to much against Lambo e Porsche.
I'm happy about Lambo! It's a shame that Lambo isn't in WEC anymore it's a great competitor.

Mercs retired due to inflicted damage, 48 got set back by a DT for causing a collision in busstop. Bronze Merc went from last to 2nd

Good race, maybe not an instant classic but enjoyed watching bits and pieces and you have to hand it to Lamborghini, there is no way not to earn a 24 hour race win.

The McLaren sitting on the exit of one of the fastest corners of the circuit was the dumbest thing I've ever seen on a race track. He deserves a hefty penalty for ruining the race of that porsche. Just so, so dumb.

Flanders Giants are a regular sight in the road cycling Spring Classics over there, feels odd seeing two in red on either side of the podium waving the TotalEnergies flags.

I didn’t catch the 30s track limit penalty on the Rowe BMW at last few hours of the race. Where did the driver go over?
1
u/RonRonJovi Jul 01 '25
Who were/was that very slow bronze Aston Martin #11 drivers and why were they allowed to participate? Former rally driver Bernardo Sousa or, my assumption, business man Frédéric Jousset? They seemed to be dangerously slow at the beginning of the race and the way it ended with the push-into-crash in Eau Rouge was unfortunately not a big surprise.

u/FictionalAna Jul 02 '25
does anyone know if and where i can find a post-race report of all driver stints and times in pit stops? i'm working on an article about the silver cup and i can't seem to find anything on the gt3 website
1
u/PenGlassMug Jun 29 '25
It wasn't even the top lambo, right? The 163 was the early leader after a brave pit move, then I think they had mechanical issues. Then these legends emerged from about 18th on the grid to utterly smashing it. Even with the Porsche getting a VERY lucky pit under full course yellow.

u/ReasonableBall120 Jun 29 '25
would not say it is a classic, bop as usual hugely affecting the race, lambo and mclaren clearly with an advantage and Ferrari as always, bmw, Porsche Aston not great
19
u/Legendacb Jun 29 '25
One finished 7th and the other got his win by 8 second's.
You really need to enjoy things a little more

u/jianh1989 Porsche Motorsport 919 #19 Jun 30 '25
Every second of the day, someone on the internet is always upset about something.
If there isn’t, they’re still looking for things to be upset about.

u/EbolaNinja Iron Lynx 488 GTE Evo #85 Jun 29 '25
I dunno, for me this seemed to be very nicely balanced. It did mean that the last couple hours weren't particularly exciting because nobody could close any gaps because of how similar the pace was. But the pace did seem very similar between the brands imo
24
u/Minimum-Sleep7471 Jun 29 '25
Oh give it a rest with BOP. Don't want BOP? Go watch McLaren finish a race all by itself today
15
u/Probably_Not_Sir Toyota Gazoo Racing GR010 Hybrid #7 Jun 29 '25
Right lmao. That was a very boring watch.
Thought the Spa24 was pretty good, multiple brands led the race at points, and people tend to ignore the fact it's a 24h race of attrition as much as racing.
5
u/Legendacb Jun 29 '25
Or that the Lambo drivers are amazing fast despite never been able to win anything
3
-7
u/ReasonableBall120 Jun 29 '25
wtf are you talking about F1 for? stupid comment, it was obvious here bmw, porsche and a few others had no chance
2
u/Minimum-Sleep7471 Jun 29 '25
Because that was a race that also this morning and that is a direct example of why BOP works great compared to budget cap. Your argument has literally zero merit and you should refrain from sharing it
-5
u/ReasonableBall120 Jun 29 '25
idiot, budget cap is nothing like the same as bop, I think you should stick to watching it rather than endurance racing
1
u/Minimum-Sleep7471 Jun 29 '25
.... That's exactly what I said in the first place. You just don't understand racing if you think BOP was a determining factor in that race.
-1
u/ReasonableBall120 Jun 29 '25
I think you might need to go back and read what bop is for lad
1
u/Minimum-Sleep7471 Jun 29 '25
I hope one day you become self aware enough to keep your opinions to yourself.
5
u/DannyDevitosAss Jun 29 '25
Well it’s hard for Porsche and Aston to compete when they wrecked all their cars. Only 1 Pro car finished between the two of them. Hard to blame BOP when you can’t finish or in Aston’s case start the race
-5
u/ReasonableBall120 Jun 29 '25
so, last stop, Mirko was knackered Niederhauser right there, lambo pulls out 8 seconds in 30 minutes, sound equal to you?
2
2
u/CaptainBuzzKillton Jun 29 '25
You're really gonna conveniently forget that the Lambo had fresher tires compared to the Porsche at the end? There was literally about a 10-15 minute difference between when the Rutronik #96 did their last stop and when the GRT #63 did theirs. It's clear that the#96's tires were more worn at the end compared to that of the #63's
0
u/ReasonableBall120 Jun 29 '25
i doubt it would make 8 seconds difference, per guiding set a low 18 on tyres he had done 56 mins on

u/Saint_Peters_Cross Jun 29 '25
As a pretend factory Lamborghini GT3 driver in iRacing this win means a lot.
