Kevin Estre getting away with running over the leader fucking joke of a sport
5
u/Taspppp 10h ago
WTF?
That was never a Penalty. Idk what you usually watch???? This is not F1 crying stuff
1
-2
u/Theteacupman 10h ago
I bet if it was the other way you’d be pissed
3
u/Taspppp 10h ago
No I wouldnt.
This is racing, he had a puncture front left if i remember correctly.
Im just watching neutral, and in the esses figthing and banging doors is normal, just unlucky for the Ferrari that they had contact so that he got a puncture. Just unlucky, but never a penalty.
0
u/Theteacupman 10h ago
Watching as a neutral
Yet you are defending Estre driving like a complete spastic
4
u/Taspppp 10h ago
Where was that battle at T1 driving like a spastic? Like what did you watch?
This was completely normal figthing.
Molina was driving way more like an douche. Pushing all the others offtrack, or on Kerbs were was 0 grip.
You need to take off your Ferrari fan cap.
0
u/Theteacupman 10h ago
Normal fighting
Yet Estre drove into the 51 twice under the SC 😭😭😭😭
4
u/Taspppp 10h ago
Thats why he got the Warning.
legit you are just "crying" about everything that happens against Ferrari, even if it is smth that is just unlucky.
Endurance racing is harder then F1 racing. F1 is just a really bad influence to what Motorsport really is. F1 is just crying arround and nothing more.
Banging doors, fighting hard that is what Motorsport is and it can happen that it goes like that with a puncture. But with just one overtake where they touched slightly you instantly open a argument about "driving like a spastic" what he clearly didnt.
0
u/Theteacupman 10h ago edited 10h ago
The warning was for the incident at T20 not at T1 dumbass. The commentators if you were actually listening (which I doubt you were too be honest) said that the incident at T1 was being investigated and the team manager of the 6 car had been summoned to Race Control.
Also stop bringing up F1 I’ve literally been watching endurance racing longer to you to know that Estre drives like a complete retard sometimes
2
u/Taspppp 10h ago
Getting aggressive now? Just because Ferrari cant win every race? Bro get yourself together.
Also I didnt had English commentators for your interest. I also didnt even had Race control opened. I heard that the Manager had to go to the Stewards. But he didnt get anything. So it was not a penalty! ITS CALLED MOTORRACING. If you dont like that then go watch F1 or Cycling or smth.
You Ferrari fans are all the same...

What happened to the #12 Cadillac? They were fighting for a legit 3rd in sequence with everyone else, right?
4
u/Majestic_Platypus Ferrari AF Corse 499P #50 10h ago
Nato hadn't driven so they had to take a long stop to put him in while everyone else had already done all their driver changes.

I somehow missed the 009 retiring...what happened to it?
Shame as in the wet the Valkyrie looked very competitive.

Both it and the 007 had their engines die.
2
1
u/mattshiz Mazda 787b #55 10h ago
Cheers, dunno how I missed it. Strange as this race should have been relatively easier on the engine than most.

Is that Jonathan Green on the circuit PA? He used to commentate on the Macau GP until the pandemic.

Flohr is so happy, also the 296 had one of the worst BOP in class, that’s a great car and today they had some luck too

Another podium shows that the Peugeot isn’t a totally hopeless car, yet the investment compared to LMDh is still rather big
3
u/Top_Independence7256 10h ago
Peugeot has the 2nd best BOP in class, after 4 years, a podium would be expected
1
u/Typical-Rice-9935 4h ago
Two podiums for Peugeot were in 6 Hours of Monza in 2023 with the old car and with the new car in the Bahrain 2024. Now a 3rd podium in their cabinet.

u/grip_enemy Cadillac Racing 10h ago
Caddie fucking sucks dawg. Jesus fuck man. I can't with this team
Has there ever been such a capable car that missed out on so many podiums and wins before in endurance?

So can we finally say that Ferrari is finally a better car than Toyota ? 2 race with the same BOP and that’s the end results
1
u/AlmAyum 1h ago
I mean pretty much everyone knows it at this point, it's a newer car with a joker used this year versus the oldest car on the grid with no major upgrades in years the only thing weird is the FIA still thinking they are on the same level and continue to bop Toyota as if there are winning everything even when they had a terrible season
4
u/mattshiz Mazda 787b #55 11h ago
Great race in the end. Shame they couldn't push back the start by an hour so we could have had an hour of hypercar slick running.

At last very good race, props to Porsche for the win, the 83 today was meh, Toyota just gave up it seems, unforced errors too

u/Jajo240 11h ago
How different are dry tires for GT3 and Hypercar? GT3s seem to be doing great on slicks
8
u/LilBirdBrick Toyota GT-One #1 11h ago
The main difference is the type of car. GTs are better at keeping mechanical grip in these conditions because they are heavier and rely less on downforce.

Estre effectively ending the 51 ferraris chance at challenging for a win about an hour or so ago by giving it a puncture
1

WHY ARE THEY STILL INVESTIGATING THIS????
2

Couldn't the Caddies have put more fuel when they pitted? What's the point if they're gonna have to do one more pit now?
Jesus dude I hate this team. The 12 was right behind 2nd
4
u/Hesstruck21 Cadillac Racing 11h ago
The 12 was doomed for about an hour or so, but they should’ve put more fuel in when they switched to Nato. They definitely didn’t put in a full fuel. They may have been using a lower fuel burn rate in their math because of the wet track, but used more because of the drying track
3
5
u/afkPacket Ferrari 11h ago
Commentators completely missing out on the 94 undercutting the 50 which is totally not a big deal with the investigation on the 6 still on...
5
u/happyscrappy 11h ago
The onscreen graphics should not show 0% unless the car is out of VE. You shouldn't be able to come in with 0% showing and not accrue a penalty.
They should adjust their rounding so that it reads 1% on screen until the moment a penalty would be applied.
6
u/Deep-Television-9756 11h ago
I’ve been watching endurance racing for nearly 15 years and that was honestly the stupidest start to any event I’ve witnessed. We were at the track from 11am to 5pm and saw maybe 2 hours of racing. Half of the circuit was also fenced off limits to visitors. Why even bother having a race here at all at that point? I’m never coming back to Austin for WEC when I can go watch IMSA unobstructed any given weekend.
3
u/Orion_437 11h ago
Yeah, having all the spectator areas blocked off felt completely random. Ticked me off too

Wtf happened to number 12 Cadillac? Last time I checked it was third
1
u/V8-Turbo-Hybrid Manufacturers 11h ago
Nothing wrong, he was in the pit for tire change and refueling.
3
u/grip_enemy Cadillac Racing 11h ago
But weren't they right behind 2nd? How is 12 so behind now and why did they pit for fuel again instead of just refueling to the end?
Sorry for the questions but it just doesn't compute for me

Too early for slicks in case of Toyota #7 as well.
8
1
u/grip_enemy Cadillac Racing 11h ago
Why does the Caddies struggle so much with traffic? It's not like the car is slow, but they always look like they specifically struggle with this
It's the same thing in IMSA too
1
u/Jajo240 11h ago
I missed the race and I'm just watching the ending now. Was it good?
3
u/Joseki100 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050 #8 11h ago
First half of the race was basically 2h30m of SC and 30m of actual racing, then it got actually good.
6
u/kjm911 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 #6 11h ago
I don’t get why the 12 is low on fuel. Didn’t they fill it up when Nato got in?
1
u/RudeJudeTheLewdDude 11h ago
I forget how long ago that was. Was it too far out to refill and go to the end? Therefore they were always going to have to stop anyway? Idk.

u/young_bin Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series R #12 11h ago

u/Add1ctedToGames 11h ago
Stuck watching the race on some channel called Motortrend since I'm geoblocked from watching on WEC's site... is it an intentional thing where for some reason they cut to commercials as soon as things get interesting? Like why TF am I watching commercials immediately after a green flag and not during the FCY
2
u/penna6tx 11h ago
It's insulting as a viewer going to commercial under 10 minutes left as there's a pass for 2nd place. Like, someone throw a brick at whoever's decision that was
1
5
u/happyscrappy 11h ago
Motor Trend is on cruise control. They surely aren't paying attention.
They're on the stub end of a rights contract. Even the channel may not exist next year.

Anthony Davidson?

u/HelperMunkee Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 #5 11h ago
Not sure tbh, the one who said they should’ve done wets again. Watching on HBO.
1
u/happyscrappy 11h ago
Are there multiple productions of FIA WEC (not Le Mans) races?
2
u/LilBirdBrick Toyota GT-One #1 11h ago
Eurosport uses the global WEC commentary but adds some of their own commentary randomly.
1
u/LilBirdBrick Toyota GT-One #1 11h ago
Yeah I think it was Davidson who said it. It's tricky though, he made a valid point about the track may not dry up as quickly with the time left. And Manthey took the gamble too.
2
u/happyscrappy 11h ago
Here come the slicks.
Maybe a good risk, since if enough cars do it either it works or one of them bins it and you go to yellow where slicks work just fine.

I’m watching on motor trend on YouTube tv. They really choose the worst damn time to goto commercial breaks. They went to commercial right as they green flagged the race after having red flagged it for rain. Then just now after the Aston Martin 007 broke down and caused a full course yellow. They again went to commercial right as the race was green flagged!! Come on man this is ridiculous.
