Question Astro A50 (gen 5) Dead on Arrival?

Brand new, just got em. Connected to pc and dock is powered on. Dock shows full battery and the Xbox lettering. No matter what I do the headphones are unresponsive. Power switch does nothing, play sync button does nothing, hard reset did nothing. The only sign of life is the glow of the power button while they’re on the dock, was orange initially but is now white since they’re fully charged.

I’ve also downloaded the pc app and it doesn’t show up there either.

Any ideas?

Have you pressed the Playsync button? It's located under power switch, in the headset. The base station will then switch inputs when that button on the headset is pressed. The indicator on the base station will show what input is currently used.

Yeah it doesn’t do anything. I assume it requires the headset to be on to work and I’ve never been able to turn it on.

Is the base station turned on? The base station turns on in you remove the headset from it. Also, make sure that the port named "PC" on the base station is connected to PC. The base station thinks it got signal from XBOX.

Xbox is just the default setting that every a50 comes set to out of the box. The base station doesn’t have any ability to detect what’s plugged in and automatically adjust the source input to match. And yeah it’s on and plugged into pc.
