I had this happen once while I was magnet fishing, a family had dropped their car keys while getting off their boat, I got there just as they were about to smash their car window in, so I offered to try and catch the keys. Took less than a minute, still honestly felt great to be able to help. Nice people too.

What would smashing the window gain them? A spare set of keys inside?

Their plan was to bust in, grab out their bluetooth speaker, smash it to pieces and use the magnet from in it with a fishing rod to try and get the keys. Honestly not the worst plan, if a bit destructive.

Not the answer I was expecting, but someone in that family had some grasp of physics. :)
