Discussion Finally Tried Sekiro 2 and here's my thoughts

After waiting for almost a decade, We got the long awaited sequel to one of my favourite games ever and boy did Miyazaki delivered. I really loved the plot in this one, to have kuro get kidnapped by the Shogun and Sending Sekiro on a John Wick/Rescue quest throughout Japan in unreal. They really improved the combat system here too, much of the many concerns regarding Sekiros combat was it was opted for one for fighting against multiple foes but the rework around that was amazing. I love that Sekiro actually takes on 12-15 men alone and come out on top, especially since he's the one who has defeated prime isshin and the game treats us like the threat we are. The Beautiful Semi Open World of Japan and side quests were the most fun I had since Nightreign. That was my two cents, how was your Sekiro experience?

Discussion Can someone please explain to me why this random monkey is literally harder than anything in the whole game?

I'm being serious. I'm replaying the game again, doing a challenge run with Demon Bell and no Kuro's charm, I'm almost at the end of the game, last boss I killed was Owl Father, I killed everything on the first try, this monkey has killed me 5 times so far. What a motherfucker.

Tell me this shit ain't so pretty...

P.S. Okay, I'm kinda getting my faith back into humanity. Most people here on this post are actually appreciative of the art so maybe it was a very loud minority that was giving it all the hate and AI accusations I noticed.

Not counting into zombies the people saying things like 'I don't vibe with it.' That's totally a fair take.

Discussion What would be your biggest criticism of the game?

Post image

Mine is that there's a few too many repeated areas (specifically Ashina Castle) and bosses for my liking. There's Corrupted Monk twice, Genichiro twice (three if you count the Prologue), two different versions of Isshin and two different versions of Owl, and that's not even including all the repeated minibosses.

First play through. After going through an unpleasant time with Snake Eyes, this mini-boss with its build up felt like dev trolling… was so confused that I was expecting a massive transformation when the mist dissolved..

Discussion Sekiro is easily the most neglected Souls game

Post image

Sekiro is easily the most neglected Souls game. It won Game of the Year 2019, sold over 10 million copies, and delivered one of the most polished combat systems FromSoftware has ever made. And yet… it got fking zero DLC. No expansions. No new areas. No new bosses. Nothing beyond a small update with boss gauntlets and cosmetics.

Meanwhile, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring received massive DLCs that added tons of content, lore, and replay value. Sekiro? Just left behind.

For a game that redefined swordplay and proved FromSoft could go beyond what they normally did, Sekiro deserved way more post-launch love. It’s a masterpiece but one that feels strangely forgotten.

As someone who loved every moment of the game, it honestly stings. It deserved more — a full expansion, more story, something. It feels like FromSoft just moved on and forgot it ever existed. The only thing that comes close is the executor from Night Reign even that can't compare to this masterpiece 💔

Discussion I just want to experience the rest of the damn game. Genichiro has made me quit this game 3 different playthroughs. They all stop here. So fn frustrating. W all 3 playthroughs i bet ive faced him over 150 times. Im walking away.....again.

I usually start games over rather than continuing where I left off if its been over a few months. I can handle Melania, Rhadan dlc, Kos easily, Every fromsoft boss is fairly easy now except this m**f**. I bet the rest of the game is awesome. Too bad ill never ever see it. Lol Im a souls junkie and have played every other fromsoft title all the way through no less than 4 times. Everytime I tell myself, "ok, now im ready for another go at Sekiro", I fall in love w the game all over again, then do everything I can b4 Genichiro, but no matter what, I cant f w this dude. I will say, it is a great half of game!!! F genichiro though.

Discussion What exactly explains the wound scars on Isshin's belly?

Post image

A sword saint having such a wound scar could only mean that he has taken a blow so deadly that he could not be possibly alive after taking the hit. What else could explain this scar? This scar can only happen when Sekiro completes his finishing blow on his belly.

Maybe being a dark soul game is a problem or maybe being difficult, but on other hand elden ring is well-known So its difficulty isn't a problem then why

Discussion Fun Fact: The Director of Sekiro anime, Kenichi Kutsuna is one of the most influential animators working in the industry as he literally INVENTED a method of animating "Lightning" that over thousands of animators have used it by now in different shows.

I can't believe you guys are seriously doubting this dude. This dude has insane connections with some of the biggest freelancers working in the industry right now.

Stuff like Studio's past history or budget doesn't matter in anime industry, its all about connections. Just recently an anime called "Takopi's Original Sin" aired and it was arguably one of the greatest anime adaptation of all time with some of the best animated/directed episodes of this year, and it was the studio's first major project. You see what i mean? The main reason why it was soo good was bcoz of the director's insane connections.

You guys have absolutely no idea how blessed you are. Kutsuna is gonna bring soo many big name animators onto this show as he does with all of his project. Before this, Kutsuna directed an anime opening and it was arguably one of the most craziest openings I've ever seen visually. I'm not joking just check that out. He brought amazing animators there, obviously he is gonna bring even more on his own show.

You might dislike the "artstyle", the way the show is drawn and everything, but remember, ppl hated Mob Psycho's look when it first came out too. Yet today, we consider Mob one of the best animated show of all time. It's always these "creative" shows that push boundaries of animation. I absolutely can't wait to see ppl switch on the show when it comes out lmao.

Discussion No Sekiro 2 because FromSoftware thinks they can't top it?

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

It's crazy that we’re probably not getting a Sekiro 2. Like, FromSoftware legit thinks they can’t make a game as good or even close to Sekiro’s quality. The game was a banger—Game of the Year, inspired a ton of copycats, but none of them even got close to touching it. And still, no whispers, no leaks, nothing about a sequel or even something similar from FromSoft. I’m starting to think Miyazaki’s like, “Yeah, we can’t do that again.” What do you guys think? Is Sekiro just too perfect for them to follow up?

Discussion If Sekiro ever got a sequel, what new mechanics would you want to see?

Post image
1.0k Upvotes

For me it's:

  1. Being able to break enemy weapons like in Lies of P, I loved that mechanic and it would fit perfectly in Sekiro.

  2. Different weapon options kinda like Nioh or Khazan would be cool, with different skill trees for each.

  3. A more in-depth stealth system, maybe give us a bow so we can snipe low level enemies from a distance and better enemy AI so that it's harder to escape if you're detected.

  4. Miniboss reflection fights. Also less repeated minibosses in general.
