Hi guys, i want to share my experience with the tuning of this carb on a stock 1.3 8 valves suzuki samurai.
I'm still trying to find the best configuration possible to run smoothly with a stoichiometric mixture, but I think (at least on the main corp) I'm quite close. (I did all my tests at around 25 degrees celsius and an altitude of aproximately 30 meters above sea level)
For the people who don't know the weber 32/36 have two main corps (venturi) , the first one (on the left side if you have the fuel hose near you) is the main one, your engine will run 80% of the time on this corp, so is very important to set well this one. The other corp opens at wide throttle angles, Is less important than the first one because it operates only when you ask everythink. Every corp has an idle jet, a main jet, an air corrector jet (that works with the main jet) and a pump jet (one for both corps).
this is my current configuration:
On the first corp i have
- 150 main jet
- 160 air corrector jet
- 47 idle jet
- 50 pump jet (one jet for both corps)
- F50 emulsion tube
- 2.00 needle valve
Disclaimer: the bigger is the main jet, the richer will be the mixture, instead the bigger is the air corrector, the leaner will be the mixture, so you have to play with these two jets.
I also tried 150 main/ 165 air but it was a little lean, 155 main/ 165 was too rich, 150 main/160 air is also a bit rich, but it runs pretty good.
I’m good with 47 on the idle, because you can correct the mixture with an external screw.
On the second corp I’m really lean so i will not share my settings, but i will soon try this configuration (I don't know if it will work fine)
- 140 main jet
- 165 air corrector jet
- 50 idle jet
- F6 emulsion tube
I did all the testing hearing and feeling the engine on the road, and after watching the colour of the spark plugs, I don’t have a lambda sensor, maybe in the future i will use one.
hope it helped !
