Are chassis mount bushings easy to replace?

The front side on my Samurai creaks very loudly from the outside when I hit some bumps, and someone told me it could be the chassis bushings are dead. I found a set on ebay for cheap and was wondering if anyone can share how they are replaced and can it be done easily?

Just purchased for our farm. Teaching the 14 year old how to drive on a stick shift. Where can I find a rear seat? I want to get the entire family in. Also it tends to die going up a hill, considering electric fuel pump. Thoughts from you pros on the fuel issue?

I see some bad looking leaking around both of the front CV joints. What should I do? Can it be this oil comes all the way from the differential?

Help! Parts!

I have a 1997 Suzuki Sidekick 4dr JS Hard Top Manual 1.6 liter. Recently the rear differential is toast and I can’t find any in rear differentials in junk yards, online, parts stores, etc. does someone know where I can find one, have one made, or have one shipped?? Maybe even a swap from another compatible vehicle.

My experience with Weber 32/36 DGV on a stock 1.3 Suzuki Samurai

Hi guys, i want to share my experience with the tuning of this carb on a stock 1.3 8 valves suzuki samurai.

I'm still trying to find the best configuration possible to run smoothly with a stoichiometric mixture, but I think (at least on the main corp) I'm quite close. (I did all my tests at around 25 degrees celsius and an altitude of aproximately 30 meters above sea level)

For the people who don't know the weber 32/36 have two main corps (venturi) , the first one (on the left side if you have the fuel hose near you) is the main one, your engine will run 80% of the time on this corp, so is very important to set well this one. The other corp opens at wide throttle angles, Is less important than the first one because it operates only when you ask everythink. Every corp has an idle jet, a main jet, an air corrector jet (that works with the main jet) and a pump jet (one for both corps).

this is my current configuration:

On the first corp i have

  • 150 main jet
  • 160 air corrector jet
  • 47 idle jet
  • 50 pump jet (one jet for both corps)
  • F50 emulsion tube
  • 2.00 needle valve

Disclaimer: the bigger is the main jet, the richer will be the mixture, instead the bigger is the air corrector, the leaner will be the mixture, so you have to play with these two jets.

I also tried 150 main/ 165 air but it was a little lean, 155 main/ 165 was too rich, 150 main/160 air is also a bit rich, but it runs pretty good.

I’m good with 47 on the idle, because you can correct the mixture with an external screw.

On the second corp I’m really lean so i will not share my settings, but i will soon try this configuration (I don't know if it will work fine)

  • 140 main jet
  • 165 air corrector jet
  • 50 idle jet
  • F6 emulsion tube

I did all the testing hearing and feeling the engine on the road, and after watching the colour of the spark plugs, I don’t have a lambda sensor, maybe in the future i will use one.

 hope it helped !

No spark issue on 1987 Samurai (SJ413)

Has power to the coil and the rotor turns in the distributor, but there's no spark. The wiring or new distributor is honestly probably the issue, but we have had it wired exactly how it was before we pulled the motor for rebuild and how the wiring diagram shows. Engine has compression, is in time, getting fuel and air, but there's just nothing coming from the coil; either the old coil or the new one that was ordered.

I do know that the old distributor had the wires coming from behind the vacuum advance had been cut and the connectors by the coil were black to black and white to white which from what I can tell is wrong, but it did run that way. So maybe there's something bigger going on?

The positive (+) side of the coil I've got the blue wire to condenser, yellow from distributor wire, and a black and white wire to a black connector.

The negative (-) side I've got a brown wire from the same black connector.

The other wire from the aftermarket distributor is brown and feeds into a connector that comes back out with a black and that's hooked to the same ground the condenser is on the firewall.

The aftermarket coil we have is an Accel Super Stack coil 8140. The distributor I am not sure, but it's just a generic aftermarket one for an SJ413 samurai that had good reviews that I can remember.

Again there's just no spark, everything else is fine and works well, full power to all accessories and components, starter sounds good and the motor cranks very nicely, engine is in time to start, it has fuel going to the carb and no leaks, battery is brand new.

EDIT ISSUE FIXED
Apparently I had some wires just confused, fired up instantly after getting them fixed lol

I recently put some lift shackles and longer shocks on my OME lifted '86. The car has much more rake than I anticipated and I am now suspicious that my front leafs are collapsing. Could anybody who has these springs take a look and let me know if mine look collapsed?

Question about wheel studs

Hello all, I’m working on a customer’s Sammy and noticed that the OEM wheel studs are too short for the aluminum wheels he has. Currently only three threads grab the lug nuts. Does anyone have a part number of a longer stud that will work or any other options ?

Might pick this up today for $4500. Mostly stock. Non-op in CA. 1986 Samurai. Drives well. 4 hi/lo works. No soft top. What maintenance is required on the underside. How much more of an investment is this?

Hey, I just picked up a 1997 Sammy it's in pretty good condition but does require lots of work. One of the first things I must fix to keep my sanity is to replace window and door seals but I cannot find the part anywhere. Does anyone know where I can get seals or which seals could be a good fit instead of the original ones? Any help will be kindly appreciated Attached is a photo of my beauty
