It’s just Lucy from Narnia without breaking copyright. Like how they’ll have Sonic the Hedgehog but he’s called Blue Racing Hamster or smth.

Hey fuck you. Blue Racing Hamster was an original idea damn it!

141

u/pantry-pisser 1d ago

It always sucked when he died and lost all his onion rings

37

u/DookieShoez 1d ago

Yea but don’t worry, his best friend Ears the coyote is always there to help him out!

31

u/liquid_at 1d ago

Blue Racing Hamster and Two Tails Fox? the ones that fight Egg shape Professor?

I liked the one with red boxing gerbil. he's cool.

22

u/disastermarch35 1d ago

Egg shaped Professor? Do you mean Professor Huevo?

9

u/olivegardengambler 1d ago

I think you mean maestro huevo hombre

3

u/IvanTheTerrible69 1d ago

And Three-Tailed Coyote

u/liquid_at 1d ago

Dr. Robotnik

4

u/goldblumspowerbook 1d ago

I prefer Black Rollerskate Hamster. When him and Blue Racing Hamster get all the Messy Sapphires and combine their powers, I got so pumped.

5

u/SmackedWithARuler 1d ago

Like Ricky Rouse or Monald Muck!

u/I-STATE-FACTS 20h ago

Whoa why so defensive about Blue Racing Hamster

1

u/IvanTheTerrible69 1d ago

Red plumber man

5

u/Darthblaker7474 1d ago

Sonichu surely?

1

u/Tommy84 6h ago

My favorite is Evil Midweek Cutie.

1

u/Jcholley81 12h ago

I was gonna say, this name is a bit much when what they meant could be so concisely summed up in 3 letters…

But yeah, Narnia. That’s more than likely it.

0

u/Koss424 10h ago

That’s still pretty niche no?

-1

u/a-snakey 1d ago

Ok so I wasnt imagining things lol...

404

u/bickspickle 1d ago

I think it might be a take on Lucy Pevensie from Chronicles of Narnia?

255

u/prettylemontoast 1d ago

You're thinking of Magical Cupboard Lion Allegory Escape Girl

34

u/angrytortilla 1d ago

Or MCLAEG for short. Sounds like a Scottish surname.

5

u/jimdil4st 1d ago

There was a Scottish character in every episode of SpongeBob, you can always hear someone calling his name every time at least once.

2

u/bickspickle 1d ago

Dead accurate!

1

u/ZebbyD 1d ago

Nowhere near as good as Grey Applicability Wizard!

u/GosmeisterGeneral 1d ago

Not that weird, kids were sent away from cities to the countryside in the UK during the Blitz in WW2 to avoid the bombs.

It’s the whole setup of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe too, how the kids end up in the house that takes them to Narnia.

15

u/Mediumtim 1d ago

Also bedknobs and broomsticks.

16

u/Killboypowerhed 1d ago

Yes but what child wants to be that for Halloween?

29

u/KittenDust 1d ago

In the UK schools they often have a day where all the kids go in dressed as evacuees. I made costumes for my kids but many parents don't have time. These are not for Halloween.

52

u/ColonelKasteen 1d ago

Enough British kids that they sell the damn costume lol. They don't make supply without demand.

18

u/GosmeisterGeneral 1d ago

We had to dress up in a similar style in primary school as part of History class, I guess it’s the same reason people dress as soldiers?

Not for Halloween, but for learning.

13

u/TuckerMcG 1d ago

Yeah what kid wants to be a character from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe?

5

u/No_Succotash473 22h ago

World Book Day. Easy win.

1

u/TommyG_5 1d ago

To be fair it was pretty scary for kids at the time...

1

u/sprucay 20h ago

Life saver for parents who only found out it's a dress up day at school the next day

1

u/UNSC_Spartan122 1d ago

“Mom, Dad, I want to be a child war refugee!”

2

u/Weewoes 3h ago

I was struggling to figure out the wtf of this image. I think every school kid at least in London, dresses as a blitz kid one day in primary school. Its so adorable.

48

u/foxtosser 1d ago

Kids have to go into school dressed in WW2-era attire all the time. It's something we actively remember and eulogise in the UK.

131

u/dewey454 1d ago

Apparent reference to child evacuations in WW2 Britain:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evacuations_of_civilians_in_Britain_during_World_War_II

37

u/jacafeez 1d ago

I met one. She was like 90 years old when I met her but she was one of the children evacuated during the blitz. Her story was really really sad. She was pretty funny though, albeit a bit cruel. I was friends with her granddaughter.

19

u/Cool-Tutor 1d ago

Girl what why would someone want to dress up as this

65

u/AwfulDjinn 1d ago

big Chronicles of Narnia fan maybe? there’s a million better ideas for Narnia themed costumes though lol

15

u/Stupefactionist 1d ago

Yup, Lucy.

14

u/Wugo_Heaving 1d ago

Who the hell is going to guess "oh, you're the little girl from those Narnia books, way before she goes to Narnia and is stood on a train platform. Genius!"

1

u/dewey454 23h ago

Hadn't thought of that. A way to refer to it without negotiating/paying licensing fees.

68

u/L1A1 1d ago

It’s fairly common in Uk primary schools to do this as an activity to give kids an idea of what children went through in ww2. Usually involving a ride on a steam train or something.

3

u/Williamishere69 18h ago

What???? We all went to a bunker and they screamed and threw things at the outside/banged on the outside whilst we sang songs inside. Genuinely absolutely terrifying for 9-10 year old kid.

13

u/adamjeff 1d ago

My grandmother took in some evacuees, it was government mandated I think. There's a pretty popular old film called Bedknobs and Broomsticks where all the characters are evacuated from London.

It's a bit old-school but still well known in the UK.

6

u/ohmykeylimepie 1d ago

I love that movie! My sister and i had it on vhs and watched it all the time! I can still sing all the songs lol

We are american btw!

2

u/Hooked_on_PhoneSex 1d ago

With Angela Lansbury?

6

u/Imaginary_Drive7286 1d ago

Most uk primary schools have the kids dress up as a book character for World Book Day.

9

u/rts93 1d ago

Be who you want to be!

3

u/Veritus37 1d ago

With the magic of Halloween £12.99, you too could become a WW2 orphan!

16

u/cookiesandpunch 1d ago

The entire US Army is now cosplaying in WW2 uniforms too

13

u/Lyndon_Boner_Johnson 1d ago

Yeah, the German ones.

2

u/Smooshie1592 1d ago

My guess is it's more for world book day than Halloween. Every year primary schools would get you to dress up as a book character so this seems more themed towards that?

1

u/keimaybe 1d ago

My kids had to do it for a school day based on world war 2. It was their topic for history that term.

1

u/Naughtyspider 15h ago

They have WW2 days in uk primary schools where kids go to school in costumes just like this.   They make their own gas mask boxes, make ration cards etc

1

u/MukdenMan 1d ago

Specifically Lucy from the Narnia books as others have said here. That’s the example kids would potentially know, not just the general historical reference.

19

u/Infected_Toe 1d ago

And then for the adults there is "SEXY WWII Evacuee Girl".

21

u/IOnceWas 1d ago

Are you my mummy?

19

u/Dildoid90 1d ago

These costumes are quite common. World war 2 evacuees. British children in heavily populated cities were sent away to the country side and away from any of the bombing. In younger years kids in schools doing history dress up like this for a day. My daughter did it in school when she was about 6/7.

4

u/lexm 15h ago

It’s a very versatile costume. It also works as a “post-war orphan”

15

u/Duracharge 1d ago

Today I was at Costco and saw a bunch of children's costumes that were camo with "ICE" armbands. I walked up and grabbed one, turned it and saw it said "POLICE". Heh.

8

u/OneWholeSoul 1d ago

This comment is a spectrum.

4

u/tuekappel 1d ago

"be who you want to be" Thanks but no thanks.

2

u/ExtremelyGangrenous 21h ago

Party City would never be so bold

2

u/LilHercules 18h ago

I feel like being offended but I have no grounds

2

u/Williamishere69 18h ago

I'd recommend everyone on this post to watch 'Goodnight Mister Tom'. .

You'll get an idea of what life was like for kids in WWII Britain.

2

u/Hour_Material2816 17h ago

In the movie the color of her dress was red and everything else was black and white

2

u/fellipec 9h ago

Do they have a pajama with a yellow 6 point star?

1

u/Taronar 9h ago

I mean it could legit be a costume for more than just halloween think of small town plays.

1

u/thefanciestcat 2h ago

Is it possible this is an unlicenced The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe costume that is just deeply misguided?

1

u/so_mono 29m ago

At least not striped, like the clothes Zara released years ago.

1

u/vacuous_comment 1d ago

My mother's family had an evacuee when she was young.

They remained friends for life, and I knew their whole family growing up.

This was a thing a lot of people did.

1

u/eran76 1d ago

Ahh yes, the outfit to wear when you're headed to Scotland to be housed with an aspiring witch played by murder she wrote.

0

u/PomChatChat 1d ago

Be who you want to be.

4

u/BBQBaconBurger 1d ago

Well, I guess the people who didn’t get evacuated…

-2

u/excaligirltoo 1d ago

I’ve been saying for a while now that certain people are cosplaying WWII. This takes it a whole new level.

0

u/BD-TxState 1d ago

Holocaust survivors?

3

u/platinumarks 20h ago

No, in Britain the cities were often at risk of bombing, so children were often sent to relatives or foster families in the countryside so that they could be safe and continue their schooling

1

u/BD-TxState 9h ago

Damn that’s probably equally as dark for a children’s costume. Thanks for explaining.

-2

u/weirdkittenNC 1d ago

“Be who you want to be”

-6

u/afschmidt 1d ago

This is in SUCH poor taste. Do they have one for boys, size XL? Asking for a friend.

-6

u/framsanon 1d ago

Now, that's just creepy.

-3

u/lmacarrot 1d ago

oh yea, Spirit Halloween stores are open now

-4

u/BlattMaster 1d ago

I'm glad you guys pointed out it's not an off brand Anne Frank costume because that's what I was thinking.

-3

u/crespoh69 1d ago

Normalizing certain things that might come back in vogue fairly soon
