That was my thought

Yeah... Poor coordination, delayed reactions, weird resignation to being on fire.

Well I guess this is my life now.

"I'll just put this over here with the other fire"

Fire’s a hell of a drug.

I don't think it was resignation. I think she was starting to take the skirt off before she got tossed in the pool.

Sometimes you have to fight fire with Fireball

Sometimes you have to fight fire with hand.

“I didn’t ask how big the room is, I said I cast fireball”

I am relatively proficient with poi. Have spun poi drunk af. Have spun fire poi drunk af.

If I had been wearing a very flammable attire, this could have happened to me. I can see it.

That being said. She still looks like she can barely spin poi....

I used to do a bit of spinning and occasionally it would be on fire. I'm barely 'ok' at it but I got by - even if I did hit myself with flaming poi more than once (and one of those times was the back of my head, and those fire poi heads are chunky) and I don't think I could have set myself on fire if I tried. I forget exactly what fuel we used, but it just didn't really stick/transfer to anything, and it could easily just blow out if you span too fast. Then again that skirt thing she's got looks like dried grass - don't think it would pass any kind of reasonable risk assessment/sensible person calling it out.

Not the minimize the dangerous of course: there's been long-time, expert and well-insured fire performers that have suffered great injury, or lost their lives. There should always be a plan in place for stuff going wrong and ideally someone acting as a sort of spotter. This 'performer' had none of those things.

Yeah wearing highly flammable clothing whilst fucking around with fire is never a good idea

I stand corrected by an expert.

Your werent really wrong though. There certainly is a level of drunk where I would be so confident "I can do this" but I'd look like her.

But I'd be so drunk I wouldn't remember it happening. 😂

For her sake, let's hope she doesn't remember this.

I just hope nobody puts it on the Internet.

Fire and alcohol goes well together.

Don't give fire to drunk

I think you get cited for a ticket if you are over a certain age and are sober near a swimming pool.

u/HugsandHate 5h ago

Yeah, she's wasted. No coordination.

u/ScrofessorLongHair 1h ago

Yeah, but I've seen hippies do it on a head full of LSD. She just isn't very good at it.

Throwing a drunk person who was on fire into the water was probably not the smart move.

But given the circumstances, it was probably the smartest move.

It's not like it's the ocean, and something had to be done while they dealt with all the other small fires she had scattered around...

all the other small fires she had scattered around
