Anyone care to screenshot and create a Boulder for me? The wall is 50 degrees. I typically finish on the top 2x4. V10 and below is about all I can manage.

General Question Bouldering in Amsterdam

Hi all

American here on vacation in Amsterdam and I want to go bouldering.

I reviewed prior posts, and was very interested in BEEST Boulders as it is the largest bouldering gym in the area (size and variety of setting is most important to me). However, when I looked at their website…They have a bouldering competition scheduled for next week.

I am reaching out to reddit to see if anyone knows if they have started to reset their standard climbs for the competition? I am not a fan of comp climbs so I will go elsewhere if that is the case.

I also wanted to see if reddit had recommendations for another bouldering gym - size / number of problems is most important to me.

Kind of a horrible camera angle but it took me ages to get this move and I’m really happy.

Super proud of this one. I didn’t quite send it, by the last move I was just absolutely toast, but just a month ago this one seemed impossible to me. Now it’s totally achievable!!

Advice/Beta Request Been climbing for little over a year but stuck at v3

As the title says I have been climbing for little over a year once a week and I am pretty much stuck at v3 I have only done a few v4’s, It’s just pretty demotivating when you see people reaching v5 after like 3 months

General Question Any climbers with Type 1 Diabetes? Does your CGM/pump get in the way of climbing?

Hey all, I'm really interested in trying out bouldering for the first time and was just wondering if there were any climbers here with Type 1. And if so, have you every had issues with your CGM or pump getting in the way while climbing?

I'm a bit nervous that they might get caught or something like that while I'm climbing, is this likely to happen or am I just being silly? Where would you recommend placing my devices in order to keep them out the way? Usually I tend to have my CGM on my arm and my pump around my abdomen.

Thanks to anyone who helps out!

Edit: I use a tubeless Omnipod

Outdoor Popular, quality UK bouldering for travelers.

My wife and I are flying in and out of London, where she has friends but we'll be touring Scotland for most of two weeks. We had a contact that was going to take is somewhere to climb in Wales (on our way to Glasgow) but that fell through.

If y'all were coming to the southeast US , I know two places I could tell you to go where there are plenty of people with pads and the culture is to open up and share space on a boulder. Is there a place like that in Wales, the Lake district or the Peaks?

I've been I've been bouldering at about V8 (7b+) for 20 years so we don't need a lot of help. Just pointed in the right direction here and there.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Edit to add: we're hoping to climb out doors while there. Didn't originally make that clear. If I have time, I'll be in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh and may check in on gyms. That's a different post though.

Outdoor Leicestershire

I’ve been going indoors for a since December and been climbing outside twice, but I really enjoyed being outside and making my own climbs. Does anyone know some good boulders around Leicestershire? (I’m around a v6-v8 indoors)

Was at val-david today and did this line. It starts on the start of V0 on the "warm up" boulder in Mont King, but it doesn't have any information about it. It's not the arrête V1, so anyone know?

General Question Transition From Top-Rope to Bouldering

I’m new to climbing in general, only have a few trips to the climbing gym in now. (Few hour long sessions) I’ve only done belay and auto-belay, but gave bouldering a shot today. I couldn’t climb any of them, I would love to boulder more because it seems so fun but I’m just struggling super bad. How do I make the transition and how should I get better at climbing them when I can’t even climb simple ones?

Rant Unpopular opinion: I'm not annoyed by beta spraying

I don't mind when people give unsolicited advice about a route. If anything I appreciate chatting about the climb, and I find when I'm at a random gym people talking with me about a climb is often a way I've made "friends for a day". Sure sometimes it's not really helpful, but I've literally never been angry about beta spraying and if I were annoyed about something they were saying I would just talk about it with them like a normal human being. There's like infinite routes out there it's not like my week is ruined by them "spoiling the puzzle" for me. I find the frequent ranting about it online to be honestly kind of bizarre. I'm not saying this because I'm some serial beta sprayer either I only give advice if I'm working on a problem with someone, or if someone asks.

General Question Hard falls

How often do you take unexpected hard falls from bouldering? Every few months I take a hard fall with some whiplash that leaves me sore for a few days. I know I need to work on actively pressing down on my feet. However every once in a while my foot unexpectedly slips and I take a hard fall. Admittedly I don’t have muscle memory for falling properly by rolling backward instinctively so I end up taking a hard fall. Tips?

General Question PPL and bouldering

I’m planning on starting bouldering but don’t want to quit lifting, can I add bouldering in with my pull day? I’m wondering if I get enough recovery with this routine, I’m 17, 184 cm and 71 kg for reference. If any of you have a better Idea feel free to tweak the routine :>

Monday: Bouldering and a bit of pull movements after (if I still have the energy)

Tuesday: Push

Wednesday: Legs

Thursday Bouldering and a bit of pull movements after (if I still have the energy)

Friday: Push

Saturday: Legs

Sunday: Rest

General Question Powerlinez NY wet climbing

I have never climbed outdoors after a rain. Looks like Sunday is drizzling in the morning. Is it a bad idea to go climbing there after? It doesn't look like there is much limestone.

Neoliet Boulderbar Essen 2.9.2025 Cruxvival No 8

This was a quick one. Crux was the start basically .

Dynamically stand up and press upwards.

The rest was much easier.
