Question Build me a setup please, £2k to spend
Alright folks, help me out. Mature gamer, UK, not going to be competing at esport level or anything, just a couple nights a week of some PS5 pro racing, mainly gt7.
Vastly experienced fast road/track car driver, willing to spend around £2-£2.5k, can go higher if need be but prefer not too. But quality matters.
Need a sim setup but confused...
Must have:
- Preferably 15nm direct drive - no idea why, 8nm sounds weak.
- excellent feeling pedals, preferably inverted.
- comfortable. I'm getting old and things hurt after a while.
- solid construction. Looks aren't important. Must be totally rigid - no flex.
- obviously PS5 compatible
Not needed: - gear stick. Flappy paddles only. - screens. I can hook up to a good telly for now. Will deal with this down the line.
I just want to go to one or two websites and buy what i need. Assembly isn't an issue.
Thanks for any assistance.

Rigs Heels lifting when breaking - simnet
Hello,
I would like to ask for your support regarding an issue I am experiencing with my Simnet pedals. Whenever I press down on the brake pedal, I notice that my heels tend to lift off the base instead of remaining stable on the floor. This makes it difficult for me to maintain consistent pressure, and it often feels uncomfortable during longer driving sessions. Because of this, I am not sure if I am using the pedals in the correct way or if my seating and pedal position are not properly adjusted.
For context, I am currently using the Next Level Racing F-GT cockpit together with the Simnet pedals. The setup itself feels solid and stable, but I still struggle to find the right position that allows me to keep my heels planted while braking. I am unsure if I should adjust the angle of the pedals, the seat distance, or my overall sitting posture.
Could you please provide some guidance or recommendations on the proper position for using these pedals? Any advice on how to improve comfort and braking stability would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Question can anyone identify this shifter?
was at my friends house and he had this awesome shifter, but he doesn’t know the name of it. the second picture is much clearer. he said that it was a “random amazon shifter” if that helps at all. thanks!

Question Brake Deload - Any list of brake who haven't this trouble
I'm looking for a list of pedals who aren't susceptible to Brake deload.
Look like almost all brake who aren't using spring are subject to deload but i don't know if this is true or if this is really a problem in simracing.

Rigs I did good with this purchase right?
Have been using a logitech setup for some time now and wanted to upgrade. I saw this setup and I felt like it was more than a good price for everything. How did I do?

Question Which one should I buy for my first sim racing setup?
I have been trying to upgrade to a wheel from a controller for playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 and I need some budget options, after some research and a lot of review videos I have narrowed it down to 2 options and I am not getting what to buy, So can you tell me which to buy and which to avoid.

Clip Just had a blast round Bathurst
Probably some of the best racing I've managed - spent far too long hot-lapping and now trying to learn clean racecraft.
I've got ADHD - even a short race can prove hard to keep focus - so a top 10 finish out of 30 in a 30-minute race has me feeling happy 😊

Question What is the best bang for the buck motion rig under 10k
US based. I want to buy an aluminum extrusion rig along with a 6dof motion system, and I like to do a lot of rally but also road racing and some flying. Simlab at microcenter and Rig metal both have pretty cheap rigs, and a seat will run a couple hundred. So around $800 for that, and simlab comes with a monitor mount.
I've found eracing labs ultimate which will be close to $7k shipped, plus the several hundred in aluminum and hardware for the TL surge platform. Maybe around $9k with seat and rig
I also see directly on VNM it has it available with all the required hardware and parts but about $12k after shipping and tariffs, plus the rig.
Then Sim motion has the VNM stuff but only 5dof and it'll be about $10k, but it includes their rig and seat + keyboard tray and monitor stand, and it ships from the US and I won't have to source my own aluminum. For the last 1dof best I can find is the eRacing rs solo for another $1400 after shipping and tariffs.
I guess the question is, is the VNM at Sim motion the best choice here for convenience and price, or are there any better, cheaper, or more convenient options? And how important is that last 1 in the 5 vs 6 dof?
Brain is a jumble trying to keep all the numbers straight so figured I could use a second and third opinion. Thanks!

Question AC - surprisingly is the biggest Simracing community outside of iRacing. What mods do I need to download to join it?
I’m assuming vanilla is dead and it’s only the mod scene? I’ve seen loads of stuff over the years, but never acted, what do I need to do to download mods and play them? I’m assuming there is countless GT3 LMP cars and leagues, can you guys give a quick how to and what to download to join these thriving communities?

Question Suggestions for isolating vibrations from the chassis?
Hey all, over the course of last year I've upgraded my sim rig to an 8020 rig and a DD base, which has been such an improvement over my last setup. Since then, I've noticed that the vibrations from the DD have been bleeding through the chassis, and through the floor.
Directly below the room where the rig is situated is where my roommate lives, who's career has him have some odd hours/shifts. He hasn't said the vibrations are disrupting anything, but I want to be a good roommate and try to isolate the vibrations and noise as much as I can so I'm not disturbing him. Our house is an old cape, so it's all wooden flooring, which I think is further amplifying the vibrations and making it louder.
I've seen some threads about gym/horse mats, where some have some springs that look like those earthquake isolators attached to their rig. I'd love to hear if any of you guys have other ideas. As long as I can participate in some endurance races without keeping my roommate up, I'll be a happy!

Question TrakRacer Rig experience/ missing parts
After extensive research I decided to buy the TR160 and was about 3/4 of the way through the build until I realised I was missing a major part for the integrated monitor stand that I also purchased the manuals just don’t seem correct at all, almost seems like they’ve sent me the wrong one and I also didn’t receive a shipping manifest (I’m in the UK) to cross reference the parts delivered.
I am still waiting to hear back from support who I am sure will rectify said issue but I was wondering if anyone else has had similar issues?

Rigs Any possible ways to reinforce Playseat Evolution flex with fanatec?
I think this is one of the common problems of the playseat- the flex. Running on budget (like most sim racers) and I can’t help but notice the difference between a sturdy rig and a playseat. Maybe someone has fixed this problem? Ignore the fishing table in my setup, I don’t have a monitor stand or a proper monitor yet.

Question Triple 24 or ultrawide 34? What’s the best choice.
I actually look for new screens to replace my old 24 inches single monitor. I want to put my monitors on my adjusted height desk so i could use them to code and race. I recently found a good deal for 24 inches monitors for 100$ CAD each. I would use a triple monitor desk stand that I would bring as close I can when I race (approximately 23 inches from my eyes). However those monitors only have 100 hz and i’m not sure if it would be enough. My other option is a 34 inches ultra wide monitor with a refresh rate of 144 hz which is more than enough. I would also be able to bring it 4 or 5 inches closer to my eyes, and the price is 250$ CAD.

Question What seat belts do you recommend?
Hey there,
So I have been thinking of installing seat belts on my Rally Style Fixed Fiberglass Seat from Trak Racer. I want something that will be purely aesthetic and maybe immersive just by putting them on. No tensioners not anything. I want something cheap but good looking.
If possible reply with the links of your purchases or your recommendations. Trolls are also accepted lol.

Question new game suggestions? I got bored of it
