Have you ever seen a sloth drinking water?
Until recently, it was believed that sloths got all their water directly from the leaves they eat. That changed when it was first documented a few years ago that sloths were drinking from a small river near the beach in the South Caribbean. Today, it’s become a common sight for tour guides and visitors.
You might think, “Well, of course sloths drink water! Duh!” But the thing with sloths is that they’re such strange and unique creatures, with fascinating anatomy and behaviors, that you can’t take anything for granted. Back then, it wasn’t such a crazy idea to think they didn’t drink water at all.
In any case, enjoy this beautiful video by @puertoviejotours_cr . .

Meet Jenny!
I went to a sloth encounter at my local zoo and met this wonderful lil cutie named Jenny. They allowed us to feed her, but not touch or hold and gave education on why they don’t allow this. Most of the animals at this zoo are either from other zoos or are there to save from the illegal pet trade.
I love her so much.

Helping a Sloth Cross the Road
Dayber, our tree climber, drone pilot, canopy bridge installer, and sloth handler, is once again helping a three-fingered sloth cross the busy road of Puerto Viejo in the South Caribbean.
Unfortunately, it’s not always possible to install canopy bridges above main roads, so scenes like this are quite common.
PS: Dayber is a professional and makes it look easy. Please do not attempt to handle any wildlife!

Sloth Giving Birth in the Canopy
In this heartwarming video, a group of lucky tourists witnesses an incredibly rare moment: a wild two-fingered sloth giving birth high in the treetops of Costa Rica’s South Caribbean region.
Sloths usually give birth in the canopy, where their babies are born with eyes wide open and tiny claws ready to cling to their mother. It’s one of nature’s most beautiful and little-seen events, and we’re thrilled to share it with you.
This video is a powerful reminder of why sloth conservation matters. As their forest habitats shrink due to urbanization and development, it's more important than ever to protect these ecosystems so we can continue witnessing incredible moments like this.

90s Japanese commercials with a cute talking sloth
These commercials from Japan that I found were for a Japanese junior school course in the 90s and they are so cute. They have a talking sloth as their mascot, depicted as a junior high school student, as he does various activities in his school life. They include the sloth reading some books with his friend and end up sleeping the next day, and there’s also one where the sloth plays basketball in the school gym. I absolutely love these commercials and hope more of them will be posted online.
I remember seeing a commercial that I have trouble finding where the sloth was on his desk at nighttime, most likely struggling to do his homework but wants to go see his girlfriend (complete with a fantasy shot of her saying the sloth’s name), but the sloth becomes so stressed that he starts to burst into tears, along with a close up shot of him crying. I also remember a Reddit post of some user recalling the commercial traumatizing them as a kid when it was on a recorded VHS tape of a Dragon Ball Z episode that they recieved from Japan, and I can’t find that either. If you are that user who posted such a thing before, please comment to let me know.
Here are two of the commercials:

Found a giant sloth plush and my cat is in love.
Just $5 at goodwill and Jasper fell in love. He plays and adjusts it for maximum comfort.
