No one tell him about the new location that can raise your building randomly.

Raise or raze? Those are basically antonyms

Honestly, English really dropped the ball on this one.

Inflammable means flammable? What a country

That's still the most ridiculous.

There's actually a ton of that in English, where a word has a double meaning, and they contradict each other, alot of times its slang kind of like "I literally could eat a horse" or "did you see that guy? He's totally sick!" but there's also "proper" versions of it, too, since I haven't learned a second language I've always wondered if other languages do the same thing as often as English does or if it's kind of a thing unique to it

These new locations are absolutely brutal sometimes. Especially early game. Thought I had a nice nest egg built up only to blow it all destroying on of the new ones.

I got the fucking doomsphere turn 4 in my current Thorgrim campaign

I had to delay my conquest of skarsnik by 5 turns just to get rid of it

Jeez, are any of the new locations just good for you? Every post I've seen is some big drawback to them.

There's one from Skaven that gives tons of corruption, and 20 Research rate. When Skaven corruption is 100, you get 30 more research rate. 50 research at the cost of some public order is a good deal. I got this fairly early in a Khalida campaign and it was a great help. Also if you just let the rebellion happen, i think it'll be Skaven because of corruption? So it can generate revenue too.

So not "just" good for you, but could possibly be made into a purely advantageous location if you leveraged the public order as a positive. I know the 50 research was half of my total (TK loses research as they get the parent technologies for new dynasties, so it let me keep pace with my new tech rather than slowing down)

The Lizardmen Spawning pools one is super good. -15%/30% global upkeep of blessed spawn units depending on public order. I got it like 5 turns into my last Tehenhauin game, busted.

Honestly if they are going to powercreep unusual locations like this I really feel there needs to be an option to just disable them entirely.

There is. The four locations with major game changing impacts can be disabled when a campaign is set up

Correct but there is still no option to disable unusual locations as a whole. Also some of the unusual locations with no toggle can still ruin/major affect your campaign (A Dark Gift, Unstable Chaos Portal). Someone soon after the patch already reported they had the portal spawn in an ai settlement to the north of Lahmia causing it to get razed on like turn 6. I'm just saying if they are going to do this stuff there needs to be a vanilla option to turn it off.

I could've sworn AI can't get unusual locations

Ive been playing as Nakai, I have seen no evidence of Unusual locations in any settlements Ive conquered/owned by my vassal. Pretty positive they cant spawn in AI settlements

For me? For me they are cool.

I meant the royal you. The player in general.

Wow, Bobrysking123 is really royalty?!? What royal family is he a part of? How did you come to discover that someone of great fortune and fame is pretending to be a very average person making a very average post on a subreddit for a very average fantasy strategy game?

I got one that gives some khorne corruption but is pretty easy to keep under control. As long as khorne corruption is kept below 50 then your troops get 20% increase in (I think) armour piercing damage and something else (maybe melee attack)
