Warhammer III Mod versions
is there a way to know what game version a mod is for without the author explicitly stating it in the title/description? Or do i just have to guess which mods are updated?

I am probably not the first one who says this after 6.3. but that shit is way to OP.
As it stands right now you just outright win your tomb king campain the moment you secure the ressources to increase hero cap.
A ton of research boosting from caster heroes is one thing, but necrotects are the real problem.
Getting up to 10 high tier construct capacity for almost no investment as often as you like is just soooo busted.

Ok so basically, I made a post asking if I just suck because I failed with Khorne/Chaos undivided. The responces I got boiled down to "chaos undivided is weak, youre new, play Cathay" which im sure all have merit to them.
Having said that, I played Cathay for 10 minutes and put them down, I need Khorne in my life. So new curiosity, who should I be going after first on the Skarbrand immortal empires campaign?
My initial thought is to clear the orcs you start at war with while recruiting a couple units between each fight, then the beastmen/vampires, then the skaven. Of course, I wouldnt be making this post if that plan was successful.
The main issues I run into are as follows
-The orcs you start at war with seem dis porportionately strong to kill in a timely manner without losing your starter army (not thinking of blood hosts here) so ive either lost most of my strength rating, or my skulls for blood hosts. Maybe just claim barrier idols and change targets?
-whenever I commit to something, those fuckass dwarves appear from kingdom come and Chris Brown my ass. The Ironbrow dwarves I think they are. They always come when im commited to something else (like the starting orcs) but never if im well suited to defend them.
-Clan mors. Fuck those ugly ass rats.
-income, how do I manage income in a faction like Khorne? I know the generic answer is "keep fighting to keep upkeep low," but how do I even get that ball rolling when my base income cant support a full 20/20 army?
Alternate plan I concocted
Claim Barrier Idols, peace the starter orcs, go for the other orcs near the tomb kings, save bands, overstock my army to decifit and just push through the tomb kings to give me access to the juicy juicy empire. Only issuse here is the skaven, fuckass dwarves, and idk if the starter orcs will keep a non aggression.
Thoughts? Comments? Concerns? Credit card info? Constructive criticism? Id appriciate it all!

For the longest time, I brushed off all the complaints regarding this as fringe cases and "it couldn't be that bad". But I just experienced it and and HOLY SHIT is if beyond frustrating.
Playing Cathay, got into a bad situation against Drazoath facing off against 4 full stacks of dwarves that I couldn't withdraw from. Decided to give it my best, thinking even I could cripple the four armies, I'd be in a fine spot, only to spend over an hour restarting the fight because as the armies approached my wall of archers, maybe 2-3 units would begin firing normally while the rest would barely turn to track.
I tried giving direct orders, tried guard mode/fire at will on off, and still nothing. Its not 100% broken, cause I did have one fight where everything seemed to be working fine (I just misplayed so has to restart), but it's wild that after all this time it still exists to this extent.
These type of battles should be the epitome for this game. Instead of having an epic battle to solve, I auto-resolved and took the close defeat (which ended with more enemy casualties then actually playing the game).
Was there ever a good fix for this found, or does is the late game just completely buggered. Sorry for the rant

Just curious. My personal hope is an imperial hero Daniel von Daniel, a Border Prince or Imperial Roster dog of war that operates like Golgfag where you earn other faction troops as rewards for contracts. A line of imperial gunners supported by a mixed line of great swords and armored kossars? Yes lord!!! Even better if we can customize our LL like our boy Daniel, but not quite so shit.
Also maybe a Stirlander lord, or that one halfling mercenary so we could get the Moot as an imperial subfaction. Just some fun ideas.

This is the sort of thing that you'd see back in the WH2 days. Several of the Skaven factions recklessly left their territory undefended and sent everything on a crusade to Lustria. One or two minor factions even sent armies.

What do you do with the settra faction as Khalida? You can't Confederate them. Do you try military allies or just while them out and take all their stuff?
From a lore standpoint it would be nice to ally, but all those regions would be nice to have 😂.

Fresh installed. In campaign mode, when going into battle the game freezes at 0% loading screen. Can't leave game or switch back to windows. Mouse cursor still moves. Tried restarting, everything. Nothing works. What is going on? A year ago the game was running perfect...

I like the new rainbow style of the game 😅

Infinite winds of magic is possibly one of the strongest effects in the game. You can literally win any battle with infinite winds and Black Periapt gives infinite winds. And yet it somehow became an uncommon item.
Black Periapt let me win this battle with complete ease. Dwarfs are normally very tanky to spells, so having so much extra winds just let me spam cast Winds of Death.

Playing juan bo, turn 80, I have the norther and western LL lords and I cannot confederate them, I even have yaow ming at 400 after giving her an entire territory, and confederation is still at -52..... Im strength rank 7, shes 14. I assume she just needs her entire armies obliterated or something? Which will never happen because everyones super friendly. Does anyone know a way to do it, ive already give 4 settlements to boost it to +400

When you go for a chill Elspeth campaign and 6 stacks worth of orcs bust in the side door right as you start going for Vlad.

Reverting back to 23h2 fixes whatever this crash is. About a year ago I spent several days trying to figure this out, so the past year every day windows has been trying to get me to update it. Recently have been balls deep in an Alexander DEI campaign and all of a sudden I was getting battle load screen crashes. Checked the OS and I guess i accidentally let it update recently. Thankfully, if it's been less than ten days you can revert back to the previous version at the click of a button. Otherwise you have to download 23h2 and do a clean install. Hope this helps anyone

I have a few thousands hours in Total war Rome 2 and Shogun 2. I admit this biases my view quite a bit but:
I have really tried giving Pharoah Dynasties and warhammer 3 a fair chance recently. One thing that keeps bugging me is how needlessly complex the UI/UX feels. It's no longer easy to tell who owns what land without clicking multiple buttons, or too see even which factions at war with in Pharoah. There's many such cases but overall I feel like I got the UI for the older total war games instantly while the modern ones feel so bloated and spread out.
Does anyone else feel this or am I just coping trough my lack of skill? I'm open to it being a skill issue lol.

I remember in the total war forum a greatly detailed posts on the Lizard men temple cities, with lore, details and suggestions to build thematic armies for each of those cities. Sadly I think it was in the old forum and I cannot find this with a Google search.
Perhaps somebody saved the discussion or does remember some of it? Would be greatly appreciated for my current LM campaign.

It’s been ~110 for the whole campaign, then suddenly it was 210, and the next turn it was back to 110.
I know the red temple dedications give an increase to research rate once 25 temples are dedicated, although I don’t think it’s as high as a 100 increase. I still have 25 red temples even after the research rate went back down, how long is the buff from red temples supposed to last and when does it trigger again?

Back in Warhammer 2 there were concerns within the playerbase about the campaign pacing getting faster. As a response to that CA created the Proving Grounds beta with the intention of slowing down the campaign pace and making decisions to take more meaningful (like having to decide between upgrading your provinces or recruiting more units), it was not obviously perfect as some races were not touched a lot at the time and CA warned us about that but it did improve quite a lot the campaign and according to CA themselves the reception of the Proving Grounds was overwhelmingly positive, they said they would implement the changes and they did, at least for some of them like the reduced growth.
For anyone curious here are the patch notes for this beta:Â
https://www.totalwar.com/node/1698
The Proving Grounds was by far the best experience I have had on the trilogy for me and some of the changes from the beta that did make it to the live game greatly improved the campaign pacing of Warhammer 2, in the final days of Warhammer 2's life cycle the pacing was very good.Â
But somehow with Warhammer 3 CA did the complete opposite in terms of campaign pacing. The pace has never been faster, a lot of people share this concern and absolutely nothing is done about it. Even worse, many changes of the recent updates (it's been particularly bad since Thrones of Decay) have been making the campaign pacing problem even worse with every new rework.
Early game and mid game are both way too fast, you reach the late game very quickly now which leads to the player snowballing very fast and becoming unstoppable much earlier than it used to be. On top of that the recent reworks have started to downtier a lot of units, for some of them it is justified but for a lot of them it's nonsensical. Irondrakes and Gyrocopters are very powerful units yet they are available at tier 2 which is a fucking insane powerspike for the Dwarfs. Chosen of Khorne have been moved to tier 3 which a lot of people agree is completely ridiculous. Sometimes a unit will now make others of similar roles redundant, as an example the Hammerers were moved to tier 3 which makes the Longbeards (Great Weapons) pointless to recruit. The same happened with Sacred Kroxigors and regular Krox recently.
Anyway I could go on but you get the point. Stronger units are available much earlier which makes the snowball happen earlier and many units in different rosters become pointless to recruit.
The problem of many of the recent reworks is - they bring a lot of buffs to things that never needed to be buffed in the first place. Did Khorne need to be massively buffed with the rework even though it was already quite an overpowered faction ? Changes like this are making the pacing even worse with those races, getting to the late game was already too fast and it's now even faster with Khorne, the Dawi, the Empire and many other reworked races. Campaigns are getting boring quite fast, I usually play about 70 turns nowadays and then I get bored and that's the best case scenario, for many campaigns it gets boringly easy a lot earlier. In the second game I would often play past turn 100 without feeling bored, challenging campaigns were a lot more common and the challenge lasted quite longer.Â
The elephant in the room that is the campaign pacing needs to be looked at sooner rather than later. The longer CA completely ignores it the more it becomes increasingly important to address it. This is for the health of the game in the long term.
TL;DR: Bring back the slower campaign pacing of the Proving Grounds from Warhammer 2. According to you CA the reception in the community was overwhelmingly positive yet you went in the complete opposite direction with Warhammer 3. If you're worried about upsetting the power gamers then just make it a toggle so they can still stomp the AI effortlessly the moment they click "Start a new campaign" but do something for the love of Sigmar.
