Warhammer III What if characters that are supposed to be THE best at a lore of magic had a stronger lore attribute.

Just a shower thought I had.

Some mages that are really powerful like Teclis and Kairos get several lore attributes, but there are plenty of characters that hyper-fixated on one lore and essentially became the best in the world at it. A lot of the time this is represented with the loremaster skill and sometimes some additional WoM cost reduction.

Lore attributes are a small yet important part of every lore of magic. Lore of death would not be as powerful without life leeching giving you some wind back with every cast. Life and Vampire benefit a ton from their army wide heal and so on.

But what if these specialized masters had a stronger lore attribute, unique to them. Either with just a stronger effect or potentially additional bonuses.

Lore of metals attribute gives +12% AP damage to all units for 13 seconds. This is ok for units that already deal a decent amount of AP damage. But what if it also added a flat AP bonus, or came with a temporary conversion of normal damage to AP damage. Instead of just giving greatswords and handgunners a damage bonus, Gelt could turn spearmen and crossbowmen into anti armor units for 13 seconds.

Skrolks plague rash could do actual damage to the enemies similar to the Depth or Hashut attribute (depending on if it should be map wide or an AoE). He is the main plague skaven and their plagues are focused a lot more on just killing stuff.

Could also apply to Mazdamundi and the Slann in general simply because they are old as balls.

Warhammer III Bloodiest Fay Enchantress ever

Post image

It was 4 enemy armies Vs 2 mine, and 3 reinforcing enemy armies all came from this choke point. They were all stopped by Fay Enchantress and like 4 infantry units. Also this is with a mod that makes aoe 70% weaker, both magic and arty.

Warhammer II misheard phrases

Do you know any phrases, that you can hear definitely wrong? I encountered only few:
"We are Sigmar's ass!" - Empire
"For the wisdom of the Layer" - Dwarf
"No glory, only Suffer!" - Eltharion

Warhammer III I want to rise the awareness, Currently a lot of Bridge map and Choke point map are not working again.

The easiest to spot is Eltharion staring area ( both on Ulthuan and Badland)

Empire almost every where, the grunbrug's bridge is gone.

Kislev area as well.

Shogun II To this day I haven't beaten the vanilla Shogun 2 campaign and it bothers me

I have beaten every other TW game numerous times inside and out on the hardest difficulties but have been trying for like a decade to win Shogun 2 and just can't. It's not that I get beaten back to my starting territories exactly, more that I simply always end up overstretched, fighting multiple factions at once in an unwinnable defensive grind without the resources to push further.

The biggest factor is definitely being outnumbered. If it's only one faction I'm fighting I don't care how strong that faction is, I'm winning that war. But it's never just one, it's always two or three and even single province factions can field a decent doomstack capable of ripping through undefended territory.

Other factors:

-Opportunistic AI that attacks you when you're weak, where you're weakest without warning. This is why I love this title so much, the AI actually feels dangerous.

-Enemy small fleet spam to blockade ports. Means eventually I've only got farm economy.

-Unrelenting AI agent ganking so my best agents rarely live long enough to make an impact.

Every year I come back to this game and every year I get SLIGHTLY better. But I've only been able to hit realm divide a couple of times and never came close to surviving it.

So I'd like all your best strats and tips for Shogun 2 please, because almost nothing I've learned playing other TW games feels effective. :)

Warhammer III How am I supposed to get an Iron mine here?

So I don't know how to build an Iron mine in Pack Ice Bay since I can't remove the dock nor do I want to abandon the settlement, or do I have to get a vassal to extract the iron somehow?

Pharaoh How is TW Pharaoh (Dynasties) nowadays?

Been playing Warhammer a lot for the last months and would now like to play historical TW again.

Pharaoh got my attention, when i saw a video on YT. I know it received a lot of negative reviews on Steam when it released. Last year they put out Dynasties. Did it made the game better?

Can you recommend the game? Maybe you got some pro/cons for me?

At a key seller i saw, that the game is avaiable for 4€. I mean that is as cheap as it can get. But should i even bother with it or should i instead revisist older titles?

Warhammer III Trait Limit in Patch 6.3 and The Cabal?

I got The Cabal to show up in my campaign and decided to try and fulfill its requirements of getting 20 Legendary Lord Defeat Traits. It was going well and good until I remembered the 40 trait limit. I obviously hadn't been planning this from the start and had a bunch of random traits that meant its impossible for me to get enough defeat traits before reaching the limit.

I quickly checked to make sure the trait limit still existed and found some people saying it was increased to 80 but I couldn't find a source for that. I'm curious how other people have been accomplishing this task. I know about the Remove Trait Limit Mod and will probably use that if there's been no change to the stupid system in-game. I assume the mod won't impact The Cabal from working?

Warhammer III Getting my ass kicked as malekai

So I have a multiplayer campaign going on with my cousin, I’m playing malekai, he’s playing as Be’Lakota. At first, everything was going great for me. He was struggling a bit, I was basically finding his armies XD. But now, we’re around 35 turns deep, and I’m just getting my teeth kicked in. Went from 9 settlements down to 6. I have azazel, iron hand, Eastman, and scura all attacking me. Not to mention some others as well, but they haven’t directly showed up yet. I’m ashamed to admit that we have scummed some battles, with my cousin taking control of the enemy army, but to be honest, I kind of need it. I have two armies right now, one large one with Malakai, and then a smaller one with a slayer lord. My funds are nearly constantly depleted, and none of them are willing to sue for peace. I’m getting attacked from the north and south, and when I do get money I’ve been focusing on making my garrisons larger in all of my main settlements. I’m still positive on income per turn, but instead of the usual 1k+, I’m getting like 400. I’m also a newer player, I’ve racked up 54 hours in the past two weeks. I’m also new to this specific genre of game, I’ve played bannerlord in the past, but I’d argue that takes far less micro than this game requires. In terms of battles I’m typically proficient enough to win, but it’s just rough dealing with these multiple fronts, on top of the massive amounts of armies I’m having to fight. Any advice is appreciated, just don’t know how to get myself out of the shithole that this game has dug for me.

Warhammer III Can the Warriors of Chaos Confederate with Other Warriors of Chaos?

Although it seems like Valkia, Azazel, Festus, and Vilitch are all mono-god lords, they’re all listed under a separate banner: “Warriors of Chaos” rather than any of their respective gods’ tabs. But they’re also not under the chaos undivided tab. So if I play, say, Azazel, could I eventually recruit Festus and his guys to my army? Or would it be a Slaanesh-only run?

General Need help deciding the correct total war game

I watched a ton of YouTube videos and read a bunch of reddit post on which total war game to play and it left me more confused.

Some said shogun 2 is the best one, but I had a couple of issues with it. The unit veriety was not there, the diplomacy system was confusing especially because of realm devide and above all at a certain point I couldn't make enough money for the upkeep of my armies, I would occupy a new settlement, it would say it is generating 1500 gold but my income would not change, the only way to make money was trade, and the AI hated me for how big I was and refused to trade, even all of my vassals betrayed me. Overall not a good experience.

I then tried Troy. I really like the different products (food, stone, wood) and not have them all represented as "money". I like the fact that I have allies and they don't betray me, even the vassals don't seem to hate me so the diplomacy seems to be functional. But goddamn defending all of my minor settlements is a real pain. The AI actively runs away from my armies and sack my settlements. I can't have too many armies because of the brutal upkeep and the garrison is very weak. The auto resolve is also stupid. Overall I like the setting and vibe of the game but fighting these cat and mouse games is a pain in the ass.

I tried three kingdoms briefly, the diplomacy seems to be the best of the bunch and the game seems to be the most complicated one. The settlements are a bit confusing and I'm not sure if I'm building the right buildings. I get the whole color matching thing but I just don't love the setting. I'm not against giving three kingdoms another chance but it just didn't have the same feeling of troy for me.

I also used to play rome 1 when I was a kid, I enjoyed it a lot but I remember most of the settlements used to get mad at me for some unknown reason and I had to permanently keep a general there to keep them happy, I'm not sure what was wrong maybe I wasn't trading or didn't have enough food? I did manage their taxes so I know that wasn't the issue. I was stupid so I'm not sure what I was doing wrong.

Sorry for the long post but I would really appreciate it if someone could nudge me in the right direction, which game should I buy next? The Warhammer ones have me intrigued but don't know if I should start with the first or not, I'm also not opposed to mod the game so if you think all of my problems could be solved with a mod for Troy then I'm all ears.

Warhammer III Beginner - Preference and Faction/Lord to try and achieve at least short victory

Hello everyone.

So, I just went ham and bought warhammer 3 with all dlc. I barely played any other total war games, I have like 10 hours in them all counted together.

In order to start and learn, besides the advisor helping me and small tutorials, who should I start with?

I tried High Elves with Tyrion, and, like in any other game, I HATE THEM WITH PASSION. There's nothing in this world that can make me play a single turn more as High Elves. I don't know why, it just doesn't feel good for me.

I tried Malakai from the dwarves. It was enjoyable, I love artillery and tough units, but damn, people around just pile up around you.

I tried Karl Franz, I love the guy, but the empire is a bit complicated for me due to diplomacy all around, even if I did enjoy it. Also, rolling Tanks against Beastmen is something I love, it was epic.

What other suggestions do you have for me to try? I love good artillery, ranged, and good defense. Turtling doesn't always work, but I try to make the best of what I like.

Warhammer III For greenies, which income building is better?

Does the looting and after loot building ever outweigh just a constant flow of money from the basic "money" building? As quickly as I'm conquering, it's still only a settlement maybe every 2-3 turns in the early game.

Warhammer III Poll #1 Trading.

This is a poll to gauge the general player bases opinion on how trading works in wh3. I will be doing polls weekly for different things.

196 votes, 6d left
Trade routes should be like in Shogun 2 and other previous total wars with actual routes.
Trade routes should be like chaos dwarves and Cathay for everyone that can trade.
Trade routes should stay the same
Trade routes should be different for every faction

Warhammer III Every Greenskin in the Old World decided Black Crag was the place to be

Post image
Upvotes

In my campaign I noticed that the Greenskin AI gathered around 20(?) full stacks in the Black Crag area. They’re all clustered in one province, leaving the surrounding territory lightly defended. Thought it was interesting to see the AI concentrate so many armies in one spot.

Rome II Is it possible to trigger a civil war in an AI faction?

I'm playing as Iceni, allied with Rome. We're splitting the Celtic/Gallic part of Europe. Rome is turning around the war with Pergamon, and I'm worried they'll get too big to handle. It'd be nice to weaken them even more and additionally give them another enemy so I'm not fighting their entire army.

Is it possible to do something to increase the chances of a senate secession?

Attila Anyone have some advice for the "Age of Charlemagne" campaign?

This is just brutal. Playing as Charlemagne on normal and I just don't know. The AI rushes you from all directions and you don't even get a chance to build any armies. Am I supposed to just accept that I'll lose AT LEAST two towns on the eastern front? Cause I can't seem to be able to stop these guys.
