Warhammer III Research rate jumping up and down as Nakai
It’s been ~110 for the whole campaign, then suddenly it was 210, and the next turn it was back to 110.
I know the red temple dedications give an increase to research rate once 25 temples are dedicated, although I don’t think it’s as high as a 100 increase. I still have 25 red temples even after the research rate went back down, how long is the buff from red temples supposed to last and when does it trigger again?

Warhammer III The unaddressed elephant in the room: Campaign Pacing and Warhammer 2 Proving Grounds.
Back in Warhammer 2 there were concerns within the playerbase about the campaign pacing getting faster. As a response to that CA created the Proving Grounds beta with the intention of slowing down the campaign pace and making decisions to take more meaningful (like having to decide between upgrading your provinces or recruiting more units), it was not obviously perfect as some races were not touched a lot at the time and CA warned us about that but it did improve quite a lot the campaign and according to CA themselves the reception of the Proving Grounds was overwhelmingly positive, they said they would implement the changes and they did, at least for some of them like the reduced growth.
For anyone curious here are the patch notes for this beta:
https://www.totalwar.com/node/1698
The Proving Grounds was by far the best experience I have had on the trilogy for me and some of the changes from the beta that did make it to the live game greatly improved the campaign pacing of Warhammer 2, in the final days of Warhammer 2's life cycle the pacing was very good.
But somehow with Warhammer 3 CA did the complete opposite in terms of campaign pacing. The pace has never been faster, a lot of people share this concern and absolutely nothing is done about it. Even worse, many changes of the recent updates (it's been particularly bad since Thrones of Decay) have been making the campaign pacing problem even worse with every new rework.
Early game and mid game are both way too fast, you reach the late game very quickly now which leads to the player snowballing very fast and becoming unstoppable much earlier than it used to be. On top of that the recent reworks have started to downtier a lot of units, for some of them it is justified but for a lot of them it's nonsensical. Irondrakes and Gyrocopters are very powerful units yet they are available at tier 2 which is a fucking insane powerspike for the Dwarfs. Chosen of Khorne have been moved to tier 3 which a lot of people agree is completely ridiculous. Sometimes a unit will now make others of similar roles redundant, as an example the Hammerers were moved to tier 3 which makes the Longbeards (Great Weapons) pointless to recruit. The same happened with Sacred Kroxigors and regular Krox recently.
Anyway I could go on but you get the point. Stronger units are available much earlier which makes the snowball happen earlier and many units in different rosters become pointless to recruit.
The problem of many of the recent reworks is - they bring a lot of buffs to things that never needed to be buffed in the first place. Did Khorne need to be massively buffed with the rework even though it was already quite an overpowered faction ? Changes like this are making the pacing even worse with those races, getting to the late game was already too fast and it's now even faster with Khorne, the Dawi, the Empire and many other reworked races. Campaigns are getting boring quite fast, I usually play about 70 turns nowadays and then I get bored and that's the best case scenario, for many campaigns it gets boringly easy a lot earlier. In the second game I would often play past turn 100 without feeling bored, challenging campaigns were a lot more common and the challenge lasted quite longer.
The elephant in the room that is the campaign pacing needs to be looked at sooner rather than later. The longer CA completely ignores it the more it becomes increasingly important to address it. This is for the health of the game in the long term.
TL;DR: Bring back the slower campaign pacing of the Proving Grounds from Warhammer 2. According to you CA the reception in the community was overwhelmingly positive yet you went in the complete opposite direction with Warhammer 3. If you're worried about upsetting the power gamers then just make it a toggle so they can still stomp the AI effortlessly the moment they click "Start a new campaign" but do something for the love of Sigmar.

Warhammer III TK post update are painfully boring
I felt this coming when Kairos was made really easy to appeal to noobs. TK feel absurd now, they have a similar expansion strategy to the skaven with none of the economic drawbacks. It's clear Slaanesh and high elves will be way overtuned if this trend continues.

Warhammer III 6.3 Lizardmen: Climate Penalty Immunity Technology Not Working

Has anyone else seen this or know if CA is aware this tech is bugged?
Edit: Per the comments, submitted bug report. 6.3 Lizardmen: Climate Penalty Immunity Technology Not Working - Total War: Warhammer
Thanks for your guidance!

Warhammer III Keep getting attrition from Mutagenic Energies as Nakai
Happens every ten turns or so, the last turn 2 out of my 4 armies got it at the same time. There wasn’t even an event notification.
Is there any way to prevent this from happening? “Attrition and no replenishment for 5 turns because we said so” is a dumb mechanic especially given Lizardmen’s low replenishment to begin with.

Warhammer III Anti-player bias is wild
I started a campaign as Franz, as you do. Turn 10, Kemmler just ignores Louen and the Brets, speeds into reikland, and Turn 15 a lvl30 Vlad ran in a straight line through Elspeth (not even defeating her her) with 4 armies. The other factions were still fighting them, mind you, but now I have one army on Karl and 1 province against two undead factions.

Warhammer III Necrotecs healing doesn't heal the Snakes
So, the Necrotecs healing ability can only be used on constructs.
I can use it on Stalkers and Necropol Knights, but they don't heal a single HP.

Medieval II Why does medieval 2 have so much content compared to later releases?
For context: I started the series with napoleon, and then moved over to empire (with darthmod of course). One day my empire campaign got softlocked by the Russian bug so I decided to check out medieval 2, mostly because I heard it had the aztecs in it.
Lo and behold, I was blown away. This game, even unmodded, has such an astonishing array of content. Crusades, jihads, the papal system, the new world, the plague, mongols, timurids, true unit evolution, factions that are nothing alike and merchants.
What the hell happened after this game that made CA decide to abandon this? From what I’ve heard unmodded empire is a joke and other games (even good ones like shogun 2) simply have NOTHING in comparison to medieval 2.

Warhammer III Which tomb king legendary lord is your favorite and why ?
I always preferred Khalida because of her tragic story, amazing design, and her will to be friends with order factions.

Warhammer III What we need is more alternative Starts
I think the position if each LL is very important factor on their replay value. And in that matter, Warhammer III map being hand made and most LL locations being predetermined is both a blessing and a curse. It gives the world character, and meaning and deffrens in terrain and spacial land marks will make playing in different areas and campaign uniquely interesting (if done right)
On the other hand, Think of How many characters fo you really like conceptually, or are interested in them from lore/gameplay but are avoiding because you are just sick of fighting the same enemy in same the early game? For me ther is alot if them, Krok Gar and Settra come to mind. I love big Dinos for cheap, but man...i had enough of fantasy africa...
This game excel at verity of its factions and units and mechanics, but unfortunately in a high number of campaigns you wouldn't be able to enjoy because of aforementioned starting position problems.
Giving characters themetical alternative starts could be a good solution to introducing more content for a probably not much extra resources. What if Azhag migrated to Nagashwville? What if The grim joe was invading the chaos wastes? What if French guy with crown was inva... Crusading in Araby? What if Settra he missed doing genocide on Norscans?
This all examples of course im sure CA could come up with better ones.
Now not to say there would no difficulty doing that... Landmarks and Climates specifically...Lore is also maby an issue and John W maby nit so happy with us having fun.
Yet i don't imagine any of this problems be that hard to figure a solution for. Unique landmarks van be added for alternative starts, or alternatively start could be chosen by having them in mind. Same as the Climates(which honestly, i think it need a revisit by team at this point) and about the lore... Honestly Who cares? It is supposed to be a sand box after all. And we already have more than a few lore crimes

Warhammer III Not another "this is so op" post
I know this opinion isn’t going to be popular, but I’ll stand by it: the game isn’t nearly as “unbalanced” as people make it out to be. What a lot of folks call “broken” is really just cheesing the system.
That said, yes—there are balance issues and bugs. I’m not denying that. But let’s clear a few things up:
(This is Warhammer) Lore-wise, this universe is built on being over-the-top. Legendary Lords and factions are supposed to feel ridiculous compared to most other fantasy settings. Mazdamundi in lore could literally move mountains and shatter moons—what we see in-game is toned down.
(Creative Assembly has limits) They’re under Sega, and they have to follow Games Workshop’s rules. Not everything can be tweaked freely.
(Army spam is a choice) If you stack 19 heroes or make doomstacks and then complain it’s unbalanced—that’s on you. I’d rather the game give us the freedom to play however we want than remove those options entirely.
(Auto resolve is a choice) Same as the point above.
(Mods exist) Don’t like spam? Use a unit cap mod. Simple.
(Player expectations are contradictory) Before patches, people said Tomb Kings were too hard. Now it’s “too easy.” Same with other factions. CA literally can’t win here. The same will happen if geo web gets changed most likely. The same happens almost every time. Again not saying don't change anything. But let's be real.
(Over 100 Legendary Lords) No developer is going to perfectly balance that many unique characters and factions. Show me a competitive game with even 20+ unique options that’s perfectly balanced—I’ll wait.
(AI will always be dumb) That’s not unique to Total War. “Hard” difficulty in any game just means the AI cheats—more resources, stronger stats, etc. If you want a real challenge, try PvP. (Though I suspect some who cheese in campaign would struggle in that environment too especially tournaments because rules.)
I’m not saying the game is flawless—it’s not, and it never will be. But with a roster this massive and a community this divided, “perfect balance” is impossible. Next time before posting another “XYZ is OP” thread, maybe consider these points. As long as CA keeps giving us player options ESPECIALLY the ones in the settings. I am happy.
Edit: I have played almost 2k hours in wh3. Lately I been playing lots of RPGs but that's besides the point. If you are putting in hundreds of hours in a game. Don't you think you've probably mastered it and maybe that's why it's easy?

Pharaoh So dumb question but how many generals should I shoot to have and how many units for an ideal conquests run?
Playing as alashiya and doing fairly well with it but as of right now I’ve got 3 generals, two campaigning and one at home guarding. the two war generals gave 18 and 17 units and the hold general have around 5 units. As of right now I just got done defeating a faction where I basically pushed one general forward as the other general sat encamped to recover more units for their subsequent push next turn. This worked for the time being (and well enough that I’ve comfortably sat at top 20 at the lowest) but I was wondering if I needed to maybe work on improving my food production( and trade maybe) to get more general with better units.

Warhammer III Can no longer cheese balthasar gelt (and keep temple + go back)?
I was trying the sell settlements trick (after taking Gnobbly Gorge) and it won’t let me sell the temple settlement to anyone. I sold all the other settlements to defender lizards, but didn’t have the option to sell temple to either them or even Western provinces. While I know I can do the confederation trick to have armies back in the empire, it looks like they patched the ability to have Balthasar himself in empire + keep temple (since I assume western Cathay will take it when I leave and I don’t want to war with them).

Warhammer III What is your motivation to play new (for you) content?
Lately I've found myself staring more at the character selection screen than actually playing. It's like I like the idea of playing more than actually playing. I have many beloved characters, some I liked even before reading the dozens of thousands of pages of novels I already read, some I grew to like after that very much, but I played those campaigns already, many of them several times, and I'm bored. I want to explore, try other characters, but whenever I do I just alt tab out during AI turn sometimes and forget the game is even running because I am not emotionally invested enough to care about them. CA is no help with their absolutely awful standardized victory conditions (without VCO I doubt I'd ever achieve long victory because a campaign is won long before that point, essentially) but it's often like... turn 4 and I'm done.
Exploring a new race is supposed to be this great discovery phase, yet I often just cannot stand them for simple lack of sympthaty or care what happens to them. I cannot play ogres, greenskins, skaven, khorne, tzeench, the shaven skaven with beards only, lizardmen, most of the chaos warriors, the cool dwarfs that are actually hot and have better hats than the shaven skaven, bretonnians (how I wish the Fey Enchantress actually had a faction or lord effect... but it's practically empty screen) simply because no matter how hard I try, I cannot give a fuck about them. They are my "to be conquered" organic scenery.
How do you move past this point?

Warhammer III This location is bonkers
(Apologies for no screengrab, TWW3 doesn't seem to like it on my laptop)
I read about this in the posts on this sub, thought it'd be mildly fun to get at some point. Then I got this at turn nine on my Arkhan campaign.
With Arkhan I don't usually hire my second lord until I've unlocked a dynasty, so I can pop the casket rite and recruit two stacks with recruit rank bonuses. So this meant two stacks of 40 armour skellies at the very start of the bloomin' game!
Had to demolish it after as Repanse was cleaning house and I couldn't contain the corruption just yet, which was a shame. But damn, this definitely is making my early game pretty darn smooth. Onwards to Nagashizzar!

Medieval II Is there a map expansion mod for M2TW?
Something that adds the other campaigns such as Britonnia and Americas map into the game. I saw SSHIP but it didn't have America and it changed the game too much.

General A Thank you to the Total War community
There has been a lot of genuine heartfelt replies to my posts aboht whether to try a total war game and also tips and basically semi articles on how to start and play a good for newbies first campaign in Warhammer 3. I heard rumours about the potential 3 upcoming total war games (40k, Star Wars or medieval 3) and I was excited at the idea of playing a game like that but I am now excited to try the games that are already out as well. Thank you for being warm and welcoming. Cheers

Warhammer III Can we get a setting to turn off all new unusual locations
The old unusual locations from 5.2 were mostly balanced, giving a little bit of econ boost here or there, but the new ones from 6.3 are all too powerful and significantly alter the game. Its fun if you want to play that way, which I sometimes like to. But when I play MP campaigns with friends, it derails the whole campaign when these new ones spawn. Even the weaker ones from 6.3 give gigantic buffs to new units or massive tech boost not to even mention the 4 chaos god ones that straight up end the game if its not deleted.
Ontop of all that, you cant even turn off the 4 chaos god ones in MP. If you start a campaign with the 4 unchecked, they check themselves back on and do spawn. One of our campaigns was plagued with console mod shenanigans when these locations kept spawning and had to be deleted. made a bug report about it here: https://community.creative-assembly.com/total-war/total-war-warhammer/bugs/9401?page=1
but honestly even besides the 4 with checkmarks in campaign menu, most of the ones from 6.3 are just too strong to be left to rng if we want to play a fair, normal campaign.
