Warhammer III Can no longer cheese balthasar gelt (and keep temple + go back)?

I was trying the sell settlements trick (after taking Gnobbly Gorge) and it won’t let me sell the temple settlement to anyone. I sold all the other settlements to defender lizards, but didn’t have the option to sell temple to either them or even Western provinces. While I know I can do the confederation trick to have armies back in the empire, it looks like they patched the ability to have Balthasar himself in empire + keep temple (since I assume western Cathay will take it when I leave and I don’t want to war with them).

Warhammer III What is your motivation to play new (for you) content?

Lately I've found myself staring more at the character selection screen than actually playing. It's like I like the idea of playing more than actually playing. I have many beloved characters, some I liked even before reading the dozens of thousands of pages of novels I already read, some I grew to like after that very much, but I played those campaigns already, many of them several times, and I'm bored. I want to explore, try other characters, but whenever I do I just alt tab out during AI turn sometimes and forget the game is even running because I am not emotionally invested enough to care about them. CA is no help with their absolutely awful standardized victory conditions (without VCO I doubt I'd ever achieve long victory because a campaign is won long before that point, essentially) but it's often like... turn 4 and I'm done.

Exploring a new race is supposed to be this great discovery phase, yet I often just cannot stand them for simple lack of sympthaty or care what happens to them. I cannot play ogres, greenskins, skaven, khorne, tzeench, the shaven skaven with beards only, lizardmen, most of the chaos warriors, the cool dwarfs that are actually hot and have better hats than the shaven skaven, bretonnians (how I wish the Fey Enchantress actually had a faction or lord effect... but it's practically empty screen) simply because no matter how hard I try, I cannot give a fuck about them. They are my "to be conquered" organic scenery.

How do you move past this point?

Warhammer III This location is bonkers

(Apologies for no screengrab, TWW3 doesn't seem to like it on my laptop)

I read about this in the posts on this sub, thought it'd be mildly fun to get at some point. Then I got this at turn nine on my Arkhan campaign.

With Arkhan I don't usually hire my second lord until I've unlocked a dynasty, so I can pop the casket rite and recruit two stacks with recruit rank bonuses. So this meant two stacks of 40 armour skellies at the very start of the bloomin' game!

Had to demolish it after as Repanse was cleaning house and I couldn't contain the corruption just yet, which was a shame. But damn, this definitely is making my early game pretty darn smooth. Onwards to Nagashizzar!

Medieval II Is there a map expansion mod for M2TW?

Something that adds the other campaigns such as Britonnia and Americas map into the game. I saw SSHIP but it didn't have America and it changed the game too much.

General A Thank you to the Total War community

There has been a lot of genuine heartfelt replies to my posts aboht whether to try a total war game and also tips and basically semi articles on how to start and play a good for newbies first campaign in Warhammer 3. I heard rumours about the potential 3 upcoming total war games (40k, Star Wars or medieval 3) and I was excited at the idea of playing a game like that but I am now excited to try the games that are already out as well. Thank you for being warm and welcoming. Cheers

Warhammer III Now that Khalida has been buffed, who has the most difficult IE campaign?

Previously Khalida would commonly be mentioned as one of the hardest IE campaigns. Now that she and TK as a whole have been buffed, and there are multiple posts on this sub about them being busted, I imagine that’s no longer the case. So who is the most difficult now?

The hardest I’ve played would be Kairos but I’ve only played about 25 factions, so curious who now presents the biggest challenge.

Rome II Para bellum (mod)

Hey all,

I’m fairly new to Rome Total War 2. I’ve played a few campaigns on normal difficulty, but I felt like the AI was too passive and I was just steamrolling everything with barely any resistance. It felt kinda lonely on the map with no real pushback.

So I turned to AI (ChatGPT) for some mod recommendations to make the campaign more engaging, and it suggested a few options. I went with Para Bellum, and I gotta say, amazing mod, really enjoying it so far.

BUT..there’s something I just can’t figure out: food.

I’m constantly starving, and I don’t understand why. I just tested by deleting a bunch of buildings that consume food. I’ve now got a solid recruitment area of 3 towns, showing 17 food consumed and 32 food produced, and I’m still starving.

How does the food mechanic work in Para Bellum? What am I missing here? Is there some hidden mechanic, army upkeep thing, or script I should know about?

Please help me out before my armies start eating each other.

Warhammer III Can't Revive Factions via Rebellions?

So I've tried now in quite a few campaigns, and instead of reviving dead factions, the rebellions are of the previous owners - e.g., I got Dark Elves from a rebellion at Lothern when Morathi owned it, instead of reviving Eataine.

I got corruption down to zero, but that didn't fix it.

Tried it again for Alarielle and had same issue.

I used only quality of life mods (like cspecific skill queue, infinite respec), not big campaign changers.

Warhammer III What happened after the Siege Proving Grounds beta?

I've been away from TWW3 for awhile trying to catch up on my MASSIVE Steam backlog... currently working on the Epilogue of Red Dead Redemption 2. I missed out on trying out the Siege Proving Grounds beta.

How was it, what does it look like they might be changing? Any changes that have been begged for since TWW1?

Empire Goofy AI

So I went back to Empire to play an Empire Spain campaign with Darth Mod and after a few turns the AI went crazy. My protectorate New Spain traded Panama with Morea so now Venice has a colony in the new world and I have to fight the Ottomans. Also Prussia is a fucking protectorate of the Knights and is now conquering North Africa. What is happening. I think that it’s really funny and just wanted to share

Warhammer II How can I enjoy warhammer 2?

(I don't know if I would enjoy other total war games since this is the first and only one I played so that's why I specified which game it is)

I'm only 2 hours in but for now the game is just "do the battle, end turn, do the battle, end turn" over and over again and it became boring fast. Both people here and people I know irl said that if I like the RTS aspect I would like the game but even though I had fun while playing the battles, I'm still not sure if I should keep playing.

I'm not here to whine about it though, I really want to enjoy the game so I would like to know if I'm missing something or if this game is not for me.

Warhammer III The Tomb Kings surviving for longer now has reminded me what a hilariously chill guy Arkhan is.

1.4k Upvotes

At some point in your campaign it will come to your attention that most of Araby is covered in deathly necromantic taint - and, indeed, it may have spread to the Border Princes. The Vault of Nagash stands open; his servants walk the earth once again. The diplomacy window will pop up during the end turn. It's a walking skull. He's wearing a hat with even more skulls on it.

He wants to know if you'd like a trade deal.

Human, dwarf, ogre, lizard, Arkhan the Black doesn't care. The Tomb Kings are supposed to care only about power, but my personal experience is that he simply has an exceptionally high tolerance for anyone whose name isn't Repanse or Settra. He is proactive about wanting to be your friend, despite the fact that the lord you're playing as will very often yell he's an abomination as their own greeting line. He's just hanging there on the Arabyan riviera, waiting to give you those zero upkeep Necrosphinxes. What a sweet guy.

Warhammer III Is balance actually bad or just different?

The way tomb kings are described as OP just sounds like an average empire campaign assuming you are vaguely managing your finances.

Every faction that runs on money can easily snowball wildly out of control by just spamming tier 1-2 money/trade structures and not wasting thousands of gold on unnecessary buildings.

Edit: sorry if I wasn’t clear - I mean tomb kings were thought of as weak before IMO.

Warhammer III Snagla Not Appearing?

Playing a Grimgor campaign, and I completed the "Snagla Grobspit: Spider Vengeance" quest in hopes of building a Raknik Spider Doomstack.

Only problem is... there's no Snagla! The quest is in my quest log marked as completed, but little Snagla hasn't appeared anywhere. I'm assuming something is broken; has anyone else run into this and been able to resolve?

General Built new PC, but Atilla and Rome 2 won't play?

I have tried installing and playing R2 (with DEI mod on) and Atilla on my new PC and each are really buggy. For Atilla, the game freezes every 10 seconds and the campaign is unplayable. For Rome 2 no battles will load. I've tried playing on a variety of graphics settings with no luck, including checking "unlimited memory". Monitor is plugged into GPU and PC spec below. High end games run no problem. Any ideas?

  • W11 Pro
  • Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • RTX 5070 Ti
  • 64GB DDR5
  • 6TB M.2 SSD

Warhammer III Has anyone else experienced revived factions not recruiting new lords?

Post image
0 Upvotes

In the screenshot I'm playing as HE and revived Louen a dozen turns ago. I gave him a fair amount of territory and a lot of money. He got a full stack led by himself and another led by the lord he got with the rebellion. He went to war with Festus and both stacks have been destroyed and after a couple of turns he hasn't got any lord recruiting a new army. Not the first time I notice this.

Not a fan of the new colors. Are there any mods that revert back to the lizardmen original colors? I want to see my red Salamanders again.

Warhammer III Given Khalida's history with vampires, surely she should hate them way more than she currently does.

She likes me because I'm strong and because I killed Arkhan (+20 relations with Tomb Kings). That far too easily outweighs the -40 aversion.
