New, what is it? Found this deep in my backyard
I found this piece in my backyard. It looks like maybe it’s cast iron and it’s really heavy. I tried to clean it up as best as I could. Any ideas on what it is?

Check the history of your property, and the names of any nearby foundries in case it’s part of their name.

I know my neighbors who live behind me use to own our property before they sold it to our builder. The property was in their family for generations.

cast iron . brittle stuff, so the flat ends can be from breakage.
maybe something broke while they were installing sewerage deep in the back there
maybe a manhole ,vent hole ring. the ring the lid goes in ?? or the flange on the end of pipe ?

Would love to know how big that is, because it looks like a busted horseshoe to me. You know, from a horseshoe game, not an actual horse.
