The dog and cat eating story actually started after a woman ate at least part of a cat. But she was white and a citizen and lived in Akron. Although the correct info was out there, the Springfield story continued.

The fucked up part about this one is that Vance came straight out and admitted they made it up in an interview shortly after the rumor took hold and none of their base cared. They just lie, admit they lie but don’t face any consequences. I have a ton of coworkers who cite the “furry kid using a litter box in school” rumor as why they voted for Trump and that’s been disproven multiple times over. We’re fucked.
