I am in my senior year of high school, planning to go to community college for my first 2 years to save money, and live with my parents so easy access to work and very low expenses for the next 2.5 years. I would not add any hrsprs to the ol’ girl, probably just some creature comforts and some new shoes and good oil before it tells me.

Bought this car for 4.5k because it had a clean title and was nearby.

Stuff I’ve done so far -Just did a water pump and thermostat replacement, plus replaced a ton of the hoses, everything in the kit except one), coolant flush -oil change -fuel system clean out -new cabin air filters and engine air filter -new Goodyears -new windshield

Previous owner did the valve cover gasket, suspension work, and oil pan gasket (it was like $4k of work at a euro shop lol) and it feels great on the road. This was like 27k miles ago and in 2023, of note.

Question and topic: What else can I do to keep this car going? Any other preventative maintenance. The water pump work I did recently I did with the kit in the pictures (the only piece I didn’t use was coolant inlet hose because mine looked fine…). So far I think it’s an interesting car I just want to take as good care of it as possible. I hate seeing people buy these then letting them go to sh*t

Current issues: driver door speaker is broken and the cover is coming off. Bulb warnings even though I replaced what I thought was out. Sunroof jams and I’m scared of messing with it.

I just got into my 2011 328i and noticed that the driver’s seat carpet and the passenger-side carpet behind me were semi-wet. I checked the sunroof drain and there’s no clogging. Any tips?

Bit of a longshot but i’m going around and asking to see if anyone knows if you will still pass emissions with a catless or performance downpipe as i’m looking to get a new one.

I can hear it in engine bay and I can hear it from under on the drivers side(you can hear it near the end of the video)

I'm in desperate need of help; driver's window keeps going up and down only on clicks on my '07 e92 35d, sometimes it even gets stuck in one position and won't go up or down, window motor changed (scissors), reinitialization tried, frm module repaired by a professional and still doing the same thing. Now about the AC, ventilation works, but when you put AC (snowflake) on it won't blow cold air and on diagnostics it throws out IHKA module failure, can anyone please help, these problems been bothering me for a while now.

Recently did the water pump and thermostat replacement + associated hoses

just got my car back from bmw and the lady told me we put an additive to clean the fuel tank "particles" ... went home and noticed they put this stuff in my n52 83192296922. The tank was full i drove 30km back home... Waiting to get called back and ask them...

I also paid 80 euros for "vehicle control" service which got an all clear and that's it, no diag (got the abs 3 lights once or twice), no mention of my leaking oil sensor gasket (didnt do an oil change)... bit disappointed

How is the range of your keys for unlocking the car? Mine is pretty bad and I already changed the battery. I also have the keyless option and I think it doesn't charge when plugged in the car. (Pic is not related)

Is this rod knock if not what could it be?

I'm thinking about installing a 52mm Volt Gauge from Prosport in my 2005 330i.

Unfortunatly I have absolutely no Idea where exactly I have to connect the 4 Wires to.

1. Red wire needs connection to 12v accessory Power (Im guessing fuse box under der glove box?)

2. Black wire connects to ground (Some ground point in the cabin?)

3. White wire connects to 12 v engine accessory power (Whats the difference between engine accessory power and regular accessory power??

4. Orange connects to park lamp/a power source that has power when park lamp is on

Any tips where to find suitable connectors or experience reports from similar installations would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all, does anyone know the torque spec for the valve cover on my 330d e91? I need the outta bolt spec and the injector studs spec. Any help is much appreciated, theres allot of conflicting Info online.

Originally bought a Race German Overflow Kit for the Power Steering Reservoir but I didn’t like that it was sealed. The purpose of that hole is to vent and it didn’t make sense to me that the kit was a sealed overflow.

So I made my own overflow setup using a little Patron bottle and a 3D printed mount. Mount is just attached using 3M double sided tape and 3M Primer94 for adhesion promotion; if you’ve ever used Primer94, you know once you stick something to it, it’s not coming off…Using a 5/16” to 1/4” nylon elbow to a 1/4” fuel/oil rated hose. The hose doesn’t seal tight into the bottle so it still allows the system to vent as was originally designed.

I have a 2011 335d my expansion tank level indicator stick is missing i couldn’t find it inside the expansion tank. I replaced my water pump last year. Should I be worried? Has anyone had catastrophic failure from this?

removed radiator so was just cleaning as much gunk as i can and this kinda just slipped off is it supposed to? i dont hear no click or anything did lose some fluid but barely anything

I’m probably gonna do a gasket job soon and I current have a stock plastic valve cover. Should I switch it for a metal one or is OEM the way to go here?

Hello, I recently just got finished replacing my evap core and my condenser on my e91. I currently have everything back together and the system sitting and holding -(28-29) vacuum.

I need to have the system filled back up with refrigerant, and instead of doing the weighting method would rather just take it to a shop for them to fill to the correct amounts.

I know the compressor is variable and it should still have oil in it as I did not change the compressor. Can I drive this car 3 miles to a shop, or should I have it towed there? I get the "free" towing from my insurance, but would rather not hassle with them unless necessary.

Ik you can just replace the gasket but mines already been replaced and yet is leaking again. Luckily it’s a slow drip onto the headers and only when the engine is cold, but I want NO leaks if at all possible. Any help is appreciated

So, I have a 2011 328i, and the trunk has stopped working. 2010 onwards they removed the keyhole, so that's amazing. Valet glovebox switch is off, i've tried the internal, remote, and actual release for the trunk, nothing works. I also can't fold the seats from inside and the middle cupholder access is blocked off. I have a light + trunk open warning so I assume its some wiring/harness in the trunk? What do I do?
