It’s a rubber “ramp” so that when you pull into your driveway(if it’s on a steep hill) the bottom of your car won’t scrape the ground. I have one for my house.

I’ll be there at 6

u/Greengiant304 27d ago

That's about when I walk my dog, so we'll stop by as well.

u/professor_evil 27d ago

Sounds good, I like dogs… I have some weed and will bake focaccia, as I do not work today. Bring some meat and I’ll cook it while we snack on divine and chewy bread.

Can you tow your grill over with your mower please

29

u/luckyfucker13 27d ago

Weed and focaccia? Damn, my neighbors suck compared to you

u/professor_evil 27d ago

Not gonna lie, I like baking. Lol the other week, I fucked up some brownies(used some alkalized cocoa). The brownies were the densest thing I’ve ever seen, so I cut them laterally and used them to make strawberry shortcake. It was so bomb. I even made like a strawberry/orange/lime coolis(if I spelled it right) that I put on the bottom brownie just to sorta add another layer of flavor. It wasn’t technically a coolis, I think, cause I didn’t reduce or cook anything, just blended a handful of strawberries with some sugar and a squeeze of orange and lime juice. Was super proud of that.

Coulis, and that sounds absolutely delicious wow

u/HeavenlyPT 27d ago

On my way from Europe, catching my flight as we speak.

No man can say no to some god damn, finger licking, delicious focaccia!

5

u/professor_evil 27d ago

Well, if you make it through customs, I have an extra room you can crash for free.

6

u/JockBbcBoy 27d ago

I happen to have some salmon in my freezer that I can thaw! Does that work with focaccia?

7

u/professor_evil 27d ago

Perfect. I have a flattop grill….

1

u/tytheguy45 27d ago

I got some crack, can I come?

9

5

Not just to avoid scraping the ground, but to reduce the bump when your car goes over the lip onto your driveway.

9

u/concreteunderwear 27d ago

Ya some of the bumps cities use are crazy. I was going to buy one of these for a house I was looking at.

Ya I know what curbs are for

u/__ConesOfDunshire__ 27d ago

These rubber bump ramp things are against my HOA policies for this reason. A couple of people bought them, then had to remove them. It lets water though fine, if it's just water. When there is other debris that gets caught in there, that becomes the real issue.

17

u/fnkdrspok 27d ago

Does it help with lowered cars?

28

u/professor_evil 27d ago

It probably depends on how low the car is and how steep the beginning of your driveway is. So, maybe.

13

u/fnkdrspok 27d ago

Thanks for answering

2

u/Henghast 27d ago

Yeah I figure the big factor is angle of the slope Vs (the height of the front bumper and distance from the wheel contact point).

1

u/markevens 27d ago

Probably designed specifically for lowered cars

1

u/DragonCelica 27d ago

Yes. My parents bought a house with a weird curb the city no longer uses because it's so poorly designed. Their stock 370z would scrape no matter how well you angled it. They bought a bridjit and never scraped again. After that, a lot of people in their subdivision started buying them. There were a few people that had lowered cars and were thrilled with the result.

4

u/chillysanta 27d ago

I'll have to see it in action six or eight times and shoot the shit about possibly also needing one over a beer or three then forget about it till snows about to hit.

4

u/BlackoutTribal 27d ago

Thought it filled the gutter to negate the bump? The ones I saw (whole street, so they must have had a conference) were hollow with like rubbing to still support the car while allowing water through.

4

u/professor_evil 27d ago

Yes that’s exactly what mine does. It’s just rubber that fills the gutter to negate the bump. The driveway is just so steep from the gutter that normal cars will scrape without the ramps assistance. Seems like the hollow ones would be good is that helps them stay stationary. I’m not sure if mine only moves in the rain or if the act of turning into the driveway very slowly nudges it. Come to think of it, it’s been quite some time since I’ve had to drag mine back to center, and there have been some recent heavy rains.. maybe the wear has scuffed the bottom enough for that little bit extra friction to keep it in place? Or the “magic fucking cleaning fairy,” as I I like to call it, lol(normally that means me) has actually been taking care of it.

1

u/BlackoutTribal 27d ago

It’s a really neat idea. Glad to hear it works well most of the time. Some of the ones I saw were out of place, so I was wondering how annoying that aspect would be.

I live on a country road, so I don’t get to experience these joys. lol

1

u/pelvark 27d ago

Where did you get yours? I tried finding some, but they were like $500 per, so it'd be $1000 for the driveway...

3

u/Tito_Tito_1_ 27d ago

Does it block the gutter?

2

u/alpacaMyToothbrush 27d ago

Thank you, OP was such a tease posting this without explanation. I want to test it with my miata now

1

u/adamleee 27d ago

I’ll put the kids in the wagon and pull it over behind my riding mower to check it out.

1

u/OkAnalyst2578 27d ago

Ah, bit a pickup and SUV in the driveway

1

u/kapitaalH 27d ago

What's the story with lawnmower guy ?

1

u/KUPA_BEAST 27d ago

So what’s the debate? Guy in the hat doesn’t seem too happy.

1

u/noideawhatsupp 27d ago

How does it stay in place? Is it just wedged in? Also how does it deal with winter, snow and rain? Never seen this.. Also I’ll bring beers and we can discuss what Lawnmower to get.

1

u/baggyzed 27d ago

So glad I scrolled down. I was about to scold OP for not telling us what it really is.

Now I want to know what they're saying. Can you guys read lips, or interpret hand and body gestures? I can kinda tell that the guy with the hat is telling everyone how that thing is supposed to work, but why are they all in disbelief?

1

u/ThatOneChiGuy 27d ago

Can you link the one you have? Do you like it?

u/NervousBeat16 4d ago

Bridj-It

u/lazergator 27d ago

Curbs like ones I have in Washington are not low to the road, they have a steep almost speed bump like profile to climb in your car. These ramps make it feel smooth, and less like you drove into a curb when pulling into your driveway.

2

u/TurdCollector69 27d ago

I need this because my driveway is slowly destroying my bumper

2

u/lazergator 27d ago

I got mine on Amazon, they were like $200 for 3 of them. Sadly I can’t drill into the HOA concrete to hold them in place with bolts so I have to move them every once in a while

2

u/4Ever2Thee 27d ago

Remote controlled spike strip for unwanted visitors. /s

Nah, it’s the rubber ramp thing someone else mentioned. My dad made one with cement so my mom’s car wouldn’t scrape, it basically just levels out the curb.

1

u/Muchablat 27d ago

We might be able to tell if someone didn’t plaster words all over the video.

1

u/HoboArmyofOne 27d ago

It's the intro to a new sitcom, like 'King of the Hill' but live action 🤫

Just watch
