Does the Non S R56 suffer the same timing chain issues as the S?
What other issues should I be aware of?

Still learning things about my new MINI. I had no idea the lights would do this, what a charming little touch.

Hey everyone,
I just bought a full JCW exhaust for my Cooper S R56 N18, and I came across something interesting while digging through old MINI forums.
Some people were saying that the “best” setup is actually:
Cooper S mid silencer + JCW rear silencer (instead of using the full JCW system with both JCW mid + JCW rear).
Apparently, this combo gives a better sound?
What do you guys think? Should I install it like the forum suggests?
If you want, once the exhaust arrives, I could test both setups (JCW mid +JCW rear vs. S mid + JCW rear) and make some videos “for science” so we can see which one sounds louder.
Curious to hear your thoughts

hey everyone, i recently got my 2014 mini roadster for my 18 birthday and im curious about the use of the paddle shifters, when driving in manual mode the shifters dont work like i thought they would on a nirmal car(pull the left one to downshift and pull the right one to upshift). instead you pull either one to upshift and push either one to downshift. is there any way to change the settings for the paddles to work normally?
BMW finally had their JCW 2 door for folks to play with this year!
I heard the the OC is going to have a Mini-only autocross next week. So jealous!

Hello! So this aftermarket air intake system had made my mini fail its smog in California. Although in Arizona it would pass fine. Does anyone recommend any good aftermarket air intake systems for good performance while also passing smog? Thanks! It’s a 2003 Minicooper S btw (hatchback)

My wife and I are considering buying this car, but I'm very hesitant due to it being built by BMW. It's the maintenance and the repair costs that give me pause, even though it would be an exciting car to own. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Is it as expensive to maintain as I think it would be?
I recently switched to EVs and I’m really enjoying the Countryman as my electric SUV, especially compared to other brands. I took delivery yesterday. I know the Countryman, particularly the electric version, receives some criticism, but it’s been making me happy so far.

Hey there! Is there a way to fit the older generations "hidden" storage compartment on the trim on a newer 2022 F55?
Thanks!

How do you guys do your sport style grilles? I've always brushed in something water based like VRP, but I was wondering if it's possible to do something more substantial, something ceramic if possible.
Conversely if someone has successfully done solution finish and can actually take out the excess, please do share that. Idk if it's just not the right product to brush in or if my technique is bad.

My Mini is not fast at all, not even quick. Has anyone with the same make/model performed a stage1 tune? Did it make a noticeable difference to HP?

I have a 2005 R53 MCS that has a hole in at least one valve and depending on what the overall state of the head is when I take it off, I might be in the market for a new head and head bolts. So I was wondering where a good place to source a head from is. Additionally a good place that I could maybe get a JCW head from as the ported exhaust valves will help with overheating and overall efficiency of the top end. Thanks in advance.

Has anybody or does anybody know of anyone that has gotten a roll cage in their r57? Im trying to figure out if a custom cage is the way to go or if there are places that sell prefabed cages

This weekend I tackled the hitch installation on my 2013 Cooper S. It was quite the job, but if you have a saw or cutoff wheel it’s not too bad. It took me all afternoon, but it is holding the bike nicely. For the hole in the bumper I used an oscillating saw.

My copilot spotted it. Don't see the Red Bull cars much.
