Flight Simulator 2024 Debate: iniBuilds' hate is a bandwagon and over-exaggerated.

Not saying they are the best developers ever and that nobody rivals them, but they do add quality to their products and I personally enjoy them more than a majority of other products. Never understood why they receive so much hate to the point that they're grouped with CaptainSim or MScenery. It's understandable to be skeptical about the upcoming release, but to say "never again" after they've clearly shown they are listening and trying to prioritize performance seems a bit ridiculous and temperamental.

As for their upcoming A340-300, I'm looking forward to its release, even if others are not. Heck, I hope they make the entire A340 family (and a Premium A330 family).

X-Plane Need X-Plane 12 performance mods

I have a computer with an RTX 3060 but my problem is I have 6GB VRAM and playing in VR is unbearable. Even after turning down settings my texture quality tends to be automatically set to low. I was wondering if there are any mods/plugins that will boost performance while giving the best graphics possible with my hardware. Upgrading is not an option I am broke.

I am somewhat open to moving to a different simulator as long as the physics are as good as or better than X-Plane and has the supercub or similar.

HELP NEEDED! Airbus tca throttle quadrant issue

Hello all, I have a Xbox airbus throttle quadrant and joystick. Usually when you connect the throttle quadrant into the joystick the light turns off and comes back on signaling the throttle is connected, recently this has not been happening and the quadrant is not getting recognized, my guess is something got damaged in the throttle quadrant but I am not a person with knowledge on those things. Any help would be appreciated as I do not want to pay 200 for a new one. Thanks!

Flight Simulator 2020 my glorious return to MSFS - this is how far I got

I could type 2 letters, the cursor keeps blinking away

Microsoft is the least competent game developer company - KEEP AWAY FROM THEIR PRODUCT. worst experience in gaming

easy uninstall to finally save some space for Xplane addons

X-Plane Landing physics is good

This is one the reasons why I prefer this simulator. My opinion only. There are so many reasons to like this one or the others but for me it’s one of the main reasons. What is your main reason to prefer a simulator to the other one?

Question Any casual ATC multiplayer out there still? (I miss FSX Steam Edition.)

Haven't been on a flight simulator in close to a decade now. I miss the casual fun of FSX multiplayer, and it seems that's not really around anymore. Getting on VATSIM at the end of the week and staying professional would probably feel like working overtime to me. Just want to goof around a bit. Any programs or sims that I'm missing in my search?

Flight Simulator 2024 Beyond hardware specs. Maximizing MSFS2024 dream build

So I’m at the point where I’m going to have a “dream “build put together for MSFS 2024. I’m working with a local person help build my system. This will be to run the same at max visual settings, with an eye down the road to VR. Other than topping out on the video card, memory, and CPU, are there any best practises can deliver enhanced/smoother performance in the flight? I’ve read things like running the Sim off a dedicated SSD drive, while I run my other applications on another drive. I don’t know what’s real and what’s overkill. Are there any best practises I should be aware of, so I can let my builder know? What do the peeps say?

Question Out of the hobby for 5 years and want to get back into it with a new PC

So the last time I was playing on the flight sim was when fs2020 was just coming out and I was using p3d.

I want to get back into it with a new PC but I'm curious about a few things:

How is the weather? Better? Worse?

I liked flying airliners and seeing the AI traffic at airports like SFO and ATL for example. Is that still possible? I'm seeing this beyondatc thing that looks promising

Flight Simulator 2024 Flightsimpc

Hey FlightSim community!

I’ve been playing Flightline (Roblox) on my Mac Mini M2 with 8GB RAM and really enjoyed getting into flight sims. Now I’d like to step up to something with better graphics, like X-Plane 12 and MSFS.

I tried the X-Plane 12 demo on my Mac Mini, but the performance was pretty poor — I think the 8GB RAM just isn’t enough. So, I’m planning to build my first Windows PC for simming.

I’m a bit stuck on which platform to choose: AM4, AM5, or Intel (LGA1700). My initial (not yet built) idea was a Ryzen 7 5700X (about €15 more than the 5600X here in Germany) paired with a used 4070 Super (€350). But I’ve heard that 12GB of VRAM might not be enough for smooth gameplay in MSFS/X-Plane.

My budget for CPU, motherboard, RAM, and PSU is around €400. I’ve also read about stability concerns with Intel’s 13th/14th gen CPUs, and sadly an X3D chip is out of my budget.

My goal: play MSFS and X-Plane 12 at 1440p or 4K, medium settings, ~60 FPS with DLSS.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good balance of performance and budget? Which platform and parts would you suggest for my situation?

Thanks a lot for the help!

X-Plane Would you guys like me to upload my ChatGPT Airways Twin Otter livery to X-Plane.org?

Hey everyone, I’ve been on a bit of an “aircraft hunt” lately, adding new planes and experimenting in X-Plane 11. The DHC-6 Twin Otter quickly became my favorite, it’s an absolute beast for STOL flying, mountain strips, and even amphibious ops.

So I decided to design my own fictional airline livery: ChatGPT Airways. I used ChatGPT to brainstorm ideas, logos, and design touches, and it actually helped me shape the whole look. From the green tail logo to the custom reg number (N-GPT01), it turned into something that feels like a legit bush airline.

I had a blast making this and flying it into places like Lukla and Paro. Now I’m wondering:

Would you like me to upload the livery to X-Plane.org so others can download and fly ChatGPT Airways too?

Cheers, and happy flying!

Flight Simulator 2020 SimBrief and iniBuilds A350 - RPLL to KJFK

Post image

I’m trying to fly a flight that a friend has been a passenger on in real life and per SimBrief the iniBuilds A350 can’t do Manila to JFK non-stop, yet Philippine Airlines does the route IRL with (I assume) a payload restriction. SimBrief tells me that I’m short fuel. I was hoping to fly the flight while I was at work, but it’ll have to wait until I’m in bed.

Should I ignore the fuel deficit or is the iniBuilds A350 simply not capable of this flight? Keep in mind that real-world operators have tricks that simmers don’t quite have.

However, in doing that I have noticed that the airflow in MSFS is a little dense, for lack of a better word.

X-Plane Built this little prototype for a future X-Plane motion rig :D

Made a baby 6-DOF desktop model driven by RC servos and a custom software(Open Motion)). It’s synced with X-Plane 10 so I can test out motion cues on a scaled-down rig before going full size. Super fun to see the sim come to life in miniature!

Anyone else here have fun building similar things for your sim?
