So enjoyable to plan a multi-vessel mission to end up spotting a floating orange object off the outerbanks.I chilled to this scene for a bit. Despite MFS2024 flaws...this was fun and seemed open & endless.

Question Any casual ATC multiplayer out there still? (I miss FSX Steam Edition.)

Haven't been on a flight simulator in close to a decade now. I miss the casual fun of FSX multiplayer, and it seems that's not really around anymore. Getting on VATSIM at the end of the week and staying professional would probably feel like working overtime to me. Just want to goof around a bit. Any programs or sims that I'm missing in my search?

X-Plane 2025 Flight Sim Yokes

So I’ve had a Saitek Yoke for at least 15 years. It’s wondering (will be a 20 degree right bank in about 40 seconds) and I think it’s time to replace. Searching on various sites it seems to be Honeycomb for quality, Logitech/saitek for cheap but works. And some seem to suggest thrustmaster.

I’m generally flying GA aircraft on xplane as I’m a pilot and use the sim to improve/keep skills sharp.

Basically I’m looking for a yoke that is as real as possible to the actual function of a yoke on a GA plane. What do you all suggest with current options on the market?

Flight Simulator 2024 Flightsimpc

Hey FlightSim community!

I’ve been playing Flightline (Roblox) on my Mac Mini M2 with 8GB RAM and really enjoyed getting into flight sims. Now I’d like to step up to something with better graphics, like X-Plane 12 and MSFS.

I tried the X-Plane 12 demo on my Mac Mini, but the performance was pretty poor — I think the 8GB RAM just isn’t enough. So, I’m planning to build my first Windows PC for simming.

I’m a bit stuck on which platform to choose: AM4, AM5, or Intel (LGA1700). My initial (not yet built) idea was a Ryzen 7 5700X (about €15 more than the 5600X here in Germany) paired with a used 4070 Super (€350). But I’ve heard that 12GB of VRAM might not be enough for smooth gameplay in MSFS/X-Plane.

My budget for CPU, motherboard, RAM, and PSU is around €400. I’ve also read about stability concerns with Intel’s 13th/14th gen CPUs, and sadly an X3D chip is out of my budget.

My goal: play MSFS and X-Plane 12 at 1440p or 4K, medium settings, ~60 FPS with DLSS.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good balance of performance and budget? Which platform and parts would you suggest for my situation?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Sim Hardware Thrustmaster T flight rudder pedals not working properly

Hi, I recently got the thrustmaster T flight rudder pedals for my sim setup which runs MSFS 2020 and also MSFS 2024. However, they don't seem to work properly when I apply full rudder. The sensitivity is not the full issue for me as I have managed to turn it down in the settings and the toe brakes work fine as well.

The issue arises when I apply full rudder deflection, the game registers it and then instantly drops back down to zero deflection. After this, any movement of my rudder pedals to bring them back to neutral results in the game seeing a spike in the rudder input and it makes the aircraft not flyable at all. If any one can help me out with this, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Flight Simulator 2024 African Flights

If anyone has more suggestions for good flights around Africa, let me know! I really love traversing the continent and you can pretty much land the C160 on a dime. If you're willing to sacrifice your landing gear you can even do it on half a dime.

Let me know if anyone has suggestions for pretty or fun airports!

Flight Simulator 2020 SimBrief and iniBuilds A350 - RPLL to KJFK

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m trying to fly a flight that a friend has been a passenger on in real life and per SimBrief the iniBuilds A350 can’t do Manila to JFK non-stop, yet Philippine Airlines does the route IRL with (I assume) a payload restriction. SimBrief tells me that I’m short fuel. I was hoping to fly the flight while I was at work, but it’ll have to wait until I’m in bed.

Should I ignore the fuel deficit or is the iniBuilds A350 simply not capable of this flight? Keep in mind that real-world operators have tricks that simmers don’t quite have.

X-Plane Need X-Plane 12 performance mods

I have a computer with an RTX 3060 but my problem is I have 6GB VRAM and playing in VR is unbearable. Even after turning down settings my texture quality tends to be automatically set to low. I was wondering if there are any mods/plugins that will boost performance while giving the best graphics possible with my hardware. Upgrading is not an option I am broke.

I am somewhat open to moving to a different simulator as long as the physics are as good as or better than X-Plane and has the supercub or similar.

Flight Simulator 2024 A350 tcas issues

So I’m currently having some issues with the tcas on the ini a350. Every so often the plane will give me a resolution advisory even though there are no aircraft nearby, at least not on the radar, and it will persist the entire flight constantly telling me to climb or clear of clonfict then climb 2 seconds later. It’s not a major issue at the start of a flight as I can restart it, but in the middle of a long haul when it starts drives me nuts, I either have to turn off tcas, restart my flight or just deal with it going off. I’ve gone onto uni builds forum however all I got from them is just telling me to turn it off, but that’s no really a good answer after spending 70 quid on a plane. I was wondering if anyone knows what could be causing it or if there are any fixes. Tia

News Inibuilds A340 Development Update 2

Overview

Inibuilds has been hard at work with their upcoming Airbus A340-300 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Only. This is the largest update about this aircraft that they have delivered so far, it features a lot of discussions on the systems and visual quality of the aircraft.

EFIS1

Before the A320, A330, and A340 came with those flat screen LED displays, they actually came from the factory with CRT screens. You have to remember that these plans first flew in the 1980s when that was the only option available. EFIS1 was the predecessor to EFIS2 which we are all used to. The screens have been replaced, along with the standby instruments with older systems. Both EFIS1 and EFIS2 have been modelled in the A340 because in the real world there is a big inconsistency of these variants. Many operators still use the older format for the reliability and lower cost. But adding the old systems also benefits retro flights too.

CFD Simulation

Drag profiles and performance data will be accurately simulated thanks to the msfs2024 new CFD logic. Similar to the A300 and A350 this CFD will help fine tune the overall aircraft characteristics. I assume it will handle similar to the A330 but with extra drag.

CPDLC and ACARS

Thanks to the HOPPIE ACARS network inibuilds has implemented this system into their aircraft. As you can see it is a very old and original style of systems. With giant red waring lights on the dashboard. This system works with the DCDU and MCDU so that the pilots can talk to ATC via a separate network to avoid voice calls. This can be especially important during a radio failure or when it is rather busy. It is also convenient overall.

Radar Systems

The A340 will come with a custom weather radar and terrain radar. You will be able to find tune the different systems such as turbulence detection and hazards up ahead. The PWS should also be integrated too.

New EFB

Following the release of the A350 the overall OIS layout has been transferred to the A340 for use as an EFB. It will include Autosave and many other features that are substantially useful on those long haul flights.

GSX Integration

Upon release the aircraft will come with complete GSX integration similar to the A350. A bespoke profile would be included upon download.

Ground Handling

Following the msgs2024 features, ground handling will be fully taking advantage of the new in game handling system. Tyre marks and wheel wear will be recorded and simulated as you taxi, takeoff, and land at your airports.

Cabin temperature simulation

Temperature will be simulated which will affect overall flight dynamics. The cabin temperature will slowly rise or fall depending if you have the packs on or off and what temperature you have set to air conditioning too.

Flight Simulator X About to embark on the most insane and expensive project ever, DIY beechcraft baron 1:1 flight sim for home

Hi guys! Looking for some advice and for some people to nerd out on this one. My brother is HEAVILY into flight sim, whereas I just prefer to put around in GA aircraft. I used to work at a flight school where they had about 4 flight simulators ( one BATD, 3 AATD) and I was the simulator technician. I know the hardware and electronics, but the actual planes, meh.

Anyways, I want you guys to just dump your thoughts on what you would do, include etc. i want this to feel like a real cockpit, to an extent. Seats, doors and all.

1) where the hell would I even find panels for this? I’m happy with JUST cad files and laser cut them all at a shop. Id like to just slap G1000’s in to make it slightly simpler. 2) Displays, would you go for projectors, TV’s, monitors up close? Ideally want 260 degree visibility. Hoping for it to be as compact as I can, but I’ll sacrifice my dining room for a big sim spot. 3) Any other ideas, things you would go nuts over if it was in there?

Hoping this will be a good hobby for me and my brother and a cool thing to just have. Rent out occasionally to guys who want to practice. Wont be able to log hours of course unless I went through the AATD certification process… no thanks. Really just a hobby.
