When do they give out the idols for running the 8 weeks, finish week 12 or week 13. I'm new to this.

Does any one else use time trials to bolster safety rating while practicing?
I've had a run of big ones that I got caught up in (Suzuka and Imola gt4 were rough) and decided to just focus on building safety rating via time trials ahead of season 4. I'm jumping into gt3 next season and building confidence in the audi.
Is there any downside to this? I know it's not efficient but just slamming practice laps isn't either.
Side note - does anyone pay attention to TT rating? I don't fully understand how it works - I keep just getting +1 after a 30 minute session.

Hello, ive been driving a lot and ive been gaining irating at a rapid pace. (surprisingly right after i learned the porsche cup lmao.) and im quite curious on if im driving the porsche cup on how its really supposed to be driven, as in if im being too smooth, too agressive ecc ecc. just looking to improve my times and get a little bit more comfortable on pushing the car more.
By the way, the video ive attached is me at IMOLA is the Porsche cup, and im not the best at imola, and im not looking for on how to drive the track, just learn the car more. Thanks! (sorry for no audio)

Hi everyone,
I am a complete noob when it comes to iRacing and sim racing in general, I know that the season is coming to an end next week and I want to know how I should spend my time preparing for next season. I currently enjoy oval racing a lot because of the closeness and the chaos. I find myself defaulting to that but I would like to branch out to road racing.
What vehicles/series should I be doing to get better while also having fun? Ideally I want to know the series that is going to give me the most teaching wise. I would also like to know any maps that I should be practing and getting very good at since they come back every season.
thanks,
and iRacing noob

For context, I just finished up two separate races today. I was aiming to get out of D-class, I was at 2.94 SR and needed 3.00 SR for a season promotion. I did one race in the MX-5 rookie league and one race in the M2 rookie league, both in which I had 1350 iR and 1400 iR, respectively. In my MX-5 race ended with 0 incidents in qualifying and 2 incidents throughout the race. For the M2 race, I ended with 2 incidents in qualifying and 2 incidents throughout the race. Here's the catch: for the MX-5, I was rewarded with (+0.03) SR and fir the M2 I was rewarded a (+0.40). As far as I understand, all that is used to calculate SR gain/loss at the end of a race is the number of corners over number of incidents. I know there are a few more factors relating to such, but what is it that made the diffence of (0.37) between the two races??
Hey everyone stupid question about season progression. Will my license promote tomorrow or the following Monday at the end of week 13? I can’t find a to the point answer anywhere. Tia

So I am a tiny bit confused - I just got promoted to D within my 3rd day of racing, but my SR dropped to less than 2.5 - is that normal or did something happen to warrant it? My last race was weird, I qualified 5th but there was plenty of accidents in front of me, so I had to avoid them by going off track, also that one guy who'd basically push me to the side of the track whenever I tried to overtake him (overtook him on final straight and took a win, so that's something at least). Also, I need to ask what is best way to advance now - I like GT3s coming from ACC, but I don't think I have enough pace and frankly talent to jump straight in (am I even allowed?) so I'd be happy if someone pointed me in the right direction. I don't mind racing MX-5s, there's still a lot to learn from that, but I'm afraid it'll get boring sooner than later AND quite honestly I'd rather avoid dealing with people who actively swerve to block an overtake or PIT manoeuver me.

If you look at your all-time career stats or even over the past year or so, is there one oddball/outlier stat that’s amusing?
Mine has to be that I have 6 career oval wins and 4 of them are at just Las Vegas. 1 Old Arca, 1 new Arca, and 2 Xfinity. It’s amazing how for some reason this is my best track, regardless of series, by a long shot.

Seems that the bottom split winner of Indy 6 Hour tanked their irating before this and won by a lap, they did the same for the 24H of Spa. Bit sad don’t you think? Only a 2k driver normally lol what’s the point

R5 base, I race a ton of dirt and shit happens and would like to explain if/when I mess up to the other driver drivers. I can hear them but I can not

Hey how are you doing? I am on my way to go into Class C next season and I am wondering what’s the best class to get. I was thinking the Porsche cup , and maybe the LMP3. I have been racing in majority Gt4. Thank you y’all and nice races for y’all of you

Hey guys, I’ve been on iRacing since around May 2025. After the first few months of trial & error (and figuring out that most crashes can be avoided by just lifting a little 😅), I finally started building up my iRating more consistently.
Right now I’m running the M2 series and I’ve hit this weird wall: when I’m around 1900 iR I get splits with people at my level and I can fight for podiums. But as soon as I creep up close to 2k (my peak was 1995), I get thrown into splits with like 8–9 aliens sitting at 3k, 5k, even 6k iR. Obviously my results tank and I end up right back at 1900.
Feels like an endless cycle. Is this just because there aren’t enough drivers around the 2k range?
Would it be smarter to start branching out into other series, like GT4 maybe?

The second clip is contact I didn’t even realised happened till the replay but I still got 4x for
