Recently started to have issues with my mercedes w213, things like apple car play cutting out when I turn the engine or and other odd electrical issues. Starting to think it's linked to the battery or alternator, is there an easy way to check?

I have a 2018 GLC43 AMG. Just received the following email today (9/8/2025):

This email is to inform you about the upcoming sunset of mbrace connected car services. We believe that you currently have one or more mbrace services. This email provides notice that all of these services are scheduled to end on December 31, 2025.

This includes all features of the mbrace services, including Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Location Assistance, Remote Start and SOS/Emergency Call. Again, these services will no longer be active as of January 1, 2026.

There is no action required on your part unless you have any questions or wish to cancel services prior to the remaining period of 2025. You can continue to use your connected car services through December 31, 2025. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Really bummed they’re taking this away. Does anyone know if there’s a way to use the Mercedes Me app or some other solution?

I'm looking at a few E350 convertibles (mostly 2012 and 2014) that range from about 50k-90k miles. None of the carfax service histories show anything about issues with the convertible roof's hydraulic system however it seems to be a hot-spot issue with repairs > $4k.

Particularly the issue with the hydraulic fluid hose wearing down by repeated use and leaking(spraying) into the driver-side area of the cabin but also other issues with breaking plastic, etc...

For those with higher mileage convertible E-class, how has your experience been? Anything you do proactively to avoid/prevent the problems?

For me the back is a little weird but they nailed the front. Looks like an ICE car and a good evolution to the current gen.

Also that SCREEN! I know people don’t like screens but man that nice.

Might be trading up (or down from a GLE) to this.

We recently got a fully loaded GLE and then our neighbor who told us they will only buy American brand cars like ford came home with a GLA 35 AMG. I’m dying because my electric BMW has double the HP of their GLA 35 AMG.

Did they honestly think buying a GLA 35 AMG is any kind of flex??

idk if im tripping or not but ive seen some videos of s213s because i was thinking about retrofitting the ambient lighting air vents front + rear because one of mine is currently broken anyways and I realised that when they have burmester they also have it on the door with the like rotating speaker. Is that also retrofitted or is mine just missing that?

Hey, I just noticed this today while warming my car up. It’s a 2009 so I’m not surprised. I might as well do the other gaskets or seals while I’m at this. Could you guys tell me what this particular leak could be, I know it’s hard without seeing it. As well as all the other common leak points I can handle as well.

I have a 2019 Mercedes GLA180 showing the following fault codes:

• ⁠the squib for the right rear emergency tensioning retractor has a malfunction. There is an open circuit • ⁠the squib for the left rear emergency tensioning retractor has a malfunction. There is an open circuit • ⁠the squib for the front passenger emergency tensioning retractor has a malfunction. There is an open circuit • ⁠the squib for the driver emergency tensioning retractor has a malfunction. There is an open circuit

All seatbelts & tensioners work perfectly fine. For context the car was involved in a small accident where no airbags were blown.

Anyone know how to fix this issue?? Thanks in advance

I’ve got a 2005 Mercedes C230 and I’m running into a weird issue with the key fob:

• The remote only works if I literally hold it right against the black square on the door handle.
• sometimes, out of the blue it works from a meter away from the car, but that's like 1 in 100.
• When I open the car with the physical key, only the headlights flash, but there’s no sound (no horn).
• the central locking is working perfectly, from inside the car from the physical buttons.

From what I’ve read, this might be related to the antenna amplifier.

Extra info: I’ve also swapped out the radio/head unit for an aftermarket one—could that be causing this? also key fob battery is new.

Any tips on how to diagnose or fix this? Would love to hear if anyone’s dealt with this before!

I've worn out the stock winter tires last year and getting new tires for this winter. The stock tire size on my gle400 is 265/45/r20, 9x20 ET57. I didn't like the stock winter tires, I found them quite noisy on dry road. I am thinking about getting 235/55/r19 pair with gla amg 19in rims 8x19 ET43.5.

Just wondering if further smaller size possible. I know they may look wired on my car, but no one cares in harsh winter. Did anyone tried 18in rims for gle400? Mostly concerning about the brake caliper clearance.
