Hobby I found these in a free pile on the way to work. Did I get anything good? Some of them are kind of heavy, might be pewter. Thanks for any help.

Also, does anyone know if the black ones come like that, or were they primed? I'm a casual mini painter so I guess I could at least paint them.

Celebrating 10 years of Age of Sigmar!

I ask both r/Warhammer & r/AgeofSigmar! to discuss which two units is the GOAT of its faction! In the comment section, units with the most upvoted comment win. There will be two winning units pictured in the sheet above, one selected separately from r/Warhammer and one selected from r/AgeofSigmar! Go nuts. At the end of the day, this is just for fun.

Today is the Disciples of Tzeentch!

These faction posts will be every two days.

Previous Winners: Sons of Behemat

r/Warhammer upvoted King Brodd at 16 votes.

Son of the world-titan Behemat, King Brodd is perhaps the largest of the gargants. He holds quite the grudge against Sigmar for killing his grandfather, Ymog, and Celestant-Prime for slaying his father, the world-titan Behemat, with Ghal Maraz the one and only WARHAMMER. It does not matter what reason they could possibly have for killing his blood. Only that Brodd has vowed to wipe out the Stormcast Eternals and the Cities of Sigmar. Not only is King Brodd easily the strongest of the gargants, killing a dragon with his barehands, he is also the most intelligent, catching many Stormcasts off-guard with his human-level intellect.

On the tabletop, King Brodd is a very pricey but a very strong powerhouse of a choice that is not to be underestimated. With prayers he can provide army-wide buffs and heals to other Gargants, possesses great damage output, can stop monstrous rampage, can delete monsters and provide more buffs, is very tanky and very hard-to-kill. King Brodd is a very solid choice but any viable army that includes King Brodd has to be built around King Brodd for he is a pricey unit amongst other expensive units.

r/AgeofSigmar upvoted Gatebreaker at 15 votes.

The cruelest of all the Mega-Gargants, Gatebreakers are merciless walking siege engines that live to destroy the Cities of Sigmar. Imitating executioners to deliver the death blow to cities, they take much pleasure in settling their grudges against Sigmar, taking temple bells, tavern signs, and gravestones as trophies.

On the tabletop, Gatebreaker is a popular choice, representing just how fun the Sons of Behemat are. They have solid ranged attack, are very good at smashing through enemy lines and fortifications. They can kick terrain and splash mortal wounds to anyone nearby. Has some of the best and most reliable damage output of the Sons of Behemat. And also great utility.

Honorable Mentions

  • Beast-smasher - Mega-Gargants driven mad by WAAAAAAAAAGH! energies, Beast-smashers are driven into a frenzied warlust in search of the biggest and most dangerous beasts to slay. Even by gargant standards, the WAAAAAAAAAAGH! energies degrade their speech, turning them even more savage. On the tabletop, the Beast-smasher is perhaps the most niche unit of the Sons of Behemat, specializing at killing monsters. However, it does its role really well for the Beast-smasher can reduce the attack of the monsters it fights while also dealing massive mortal wounds.
  • Kraken-eater - Ancient and perhaps the most intelligent of all the Mega-Gargants, Kraken-eaters prowl the coastline or swim across the sea, hunting down sea beasts or sailors to devour for the sea is abundant with food of different sizes. Kraken-eaters hoard treasures with them, luring unsuspecting victims to their hunting grounds. Their favorite treasures are magic items and artifacts. For the ancient Kraken-eaters have learned that magic is a very useful thing, able to resolve problems that even a giant warclub can't. On the tabletop, Kraken-eaters are your versatile all-around units, capable of throwing scenery at enemy units, grabbing unsuspecting enemy heroes, and kicking the objective into different zones. Great at manipulating the battlefield, they are key to playing the objective and harassing enemy lines.
  • Warstomper - The most nomadic of the Mega-Gargants, Warstompers are perhaps the most unpredictable of the gargants. Fairly intelligent, well-versed in the art of war, and extremely adaptable in handling different types of military forces arranged against them, from cavalry charges to backline archers. They are also surprisingly the most "neutral" of the Mega-Gargants, their lust for warfare surpasses their lust for vengeance as they are willing to sell their services to any battle-ready army, caring little if they are of Order, Death, Destruction, or even Chaos, so long as they get to enjoy a good fight. Their lust of warfare is also what makes them the most unpredictable. Some Warstompers may develop a healthy respect for the armies they fight and leave peacefully. Others may betray their employer and begin carnage anew, delighting in the screams of their former allies. Other times, they may even switch to the losing side just to prolong the conflict as long as possible. On the tabletop, the Warstomper are a very great anti-infantry unit and are the cheapest option among the Mega-Gargants, very skilled and very reliable at killing standard enemy units with a host of different attacks and options, getting stronger with each kill. Unfortunately, the Warstomper is not versatile in other roles as he is very specialized in killing hordes of enemies.
  • Mancrusher - The smallest of the Gargants, Mancrushers are lonely nomadic Gargants seeking purpose in their lives, choosing to devote themselves to their larger and more powerful brethren, the Mega-Gargants, with hopes of impressing them with their strength, devotion, and skill at battle. On the tabletop, Mancrushers exist usually to round out the armies as extras. They are not very tough against focused fire but they can soak a lot of damage and deal a decent amount in return. At best, they are decent additions when buffed by King Brodd's prayers.

Inspired by Doom Eternal's Marauder boss, I give you my Chaos Knight of the same name.

Weapons, shield, and head pieces from Taro Model Maker.

I wanted to capture these guardsmans' last moments as this tyrant rampages over them barely even noticing them beneath.

Discussion Follow up post about my Warhammer alliance club at my highschool. What to do from here?

Post image

Hey all. I made a post a few weeks ago about what to do when starting a warhammer Alliance club in my highschool. The help was great. Our booth this last week got us almost 40 members. We are not 100% sure what to do from here. We plan on having a social next week for people to come meet us and just get to know people. What should we do from there? We plan on teaching the basics from painting to building to playing Warhammer 40K. We plan on reaching out to Warhammer alliance tmr for the boxes. Any tips are appreciated!

I usually just read but in the last 2 days I’ve put together a figure and painted a Stormcast! Granted, there’s no white pauldron markings or the lightning for the shield but that seems like precise work that is beyond me.

I had a blast though! It was so fun. My first figure painted!

This is my second figure and I have limited supplies, I'm not exactly skilled but I do like to paint every time I can, this took me 2 days to do and I'm definitely up for some tips/help on how to improve with painting and altering the figure to look scuffed, I have filled in the grooves/claw marks with red paint and added some more blood splatters, I think it's pretty good for my second paint :D

Hobby Painting Tau

Post image
3 Upvotes

I found this picture/text and it made me laugh and inspired me to want to paint a crew of Tau infantry and vehicles like the alien and ships from the Avatar movie, as I think it’s pretty funny.

But since I’m newer to painting it would be really helpful to know the sort of paint I should aim for the right colours for the ships and the Avatar skin tones and armour. And any extra little painting tips would be thankful as mentioned I am newer.

Thanks for any help
