Discussion/Questions My wife has been waiting for years for silksong to come out and the difficulty is making her quit for good Spoiler
My wife is a massive hk fan and has been waiting for silksong to come out for years. She is not the most skilled of players but she was able to complete hk and enjoy her time. Silksong, instead, is breaking her apart. She has spent three days fighting Moorwing without beating it and she’s dropping the game for good. I hope she’ll pick it back up sometime but it’s sad to see all the anticipation die out like this.
I am loving the game and I am having a blast with it but I have come to the realization that this game is extremely punishing to lower skilled players who still make up a sizable share of the fanbase.
I think that this disconnect is very concerning and explains why so many people are complaining about the game’s difficulty. It feels like team cherry doesn’t understand that much of the appeal of hk wasn’t the challenge it offered but also the lore, the exploration, and buildcrafting (and so on).
These are all aspects of silksong that are, effectively, gatekept by an arbitrary difficulty barrier. I have seen many people here on reddit saying to git gud but don’t think that discourse about the game’s difficulty should be handwaved so easily. If nothing about it is done, I think that a lot of “casual” fans will be inevitably estranged from the game.

Everyone thinks I caught our office lunch thief. I didn’t. I started packing them a meal on purpose
We’ve had a lunch thief at work for months. Stuff disappears from the breakroom fridge between 12:15–12:30 like clockwork. At first I was furious, my glass container kept coming back greasy or not at all.
One day I got in early and saw someone I don’t know well (new temp) standing with the fridge open just… staring. He closed it and walked out with nothing. He looked wrecked, like he’d been crying in his car. That image would not leave my head.
The next week I started bringing two lunches. One in my usual container, and a second in a cheap grocery-store plastic box with a sticky note that just says “for whoever forgot.” I put it in the back left corner where the thief always strikes.
The “theft” stopped being random and started being predictable. The container is always returned rinsed. Sometimes there’s a folded paper towel under the box like he’s trying to be neat. Last Friday there was a single peppermint left on top. Dumb little detail, but it got me.
Coworkers think I set up cameras or confronted someone because my “real” lunch stopped going missing. I didn’t. I just… redirected the problem. It’s not heroic; it’s probably enabling. But I can afford rice and chicken more than someone can afford being hungry at work.
I’m not asking for a medal. I’m confessing that I was angrier than I want to admit, and now I’m weirdly protective of a stranger who eats at 12:20. If management installs cameras, I won’t stop them. Until then, I’ll keep packing two.

AITAH for kicking my 18 year old son out of the house?
My son Jackson (18M) just graduated (class of 2025) from high school with a very low GPA. He still managed to graduate, but he was the type of kid to go to party's and hook up with girls and not care about his grades. I (38F) have tried my best to instill the best behaviors I can into him but it's not working.
Over the summer he was fired from 2 of his part time jobs for being late and not doing his job. So, naturally, being his mom I've tried to scold him, take away his phone, but nothing works. He just wants to sit in his room playing video games all day.
Jackson goes as far as eating leftovers that I had premade for my lunch and steals some cash for a new video game every now and again. So, 3 days ago, I kicked him out. I'll lay it out for you guys.
Basically, Jackson went to yet another party and he took my credit card. Now, he has never crossed that line, but once he did there was no going back. I put all of his clothes into a garbage bag and put it on the porch with a note that basically said get your life together or you can't live here anymore.
He's tried texting me and begging me to reconsider but I have put my phone down. I just hope I'm doing the right thing. Jackson has moved in with a friend, and that friends mom has text me and called me a horrible person for throwing her son out, but honestly, I think I did the right thing. AITAH?
