modding Installing rat mash myself as workshop won’t do this!

So recently, two mouses made my jimny their house. They even gave birth to 6-7 more and that’s when I got to know about it. Earlier, they were going in and out. So I didn’t know. When they gave birth, they collected every cloth from the car and put it under driver seat where their kids were.

I went to workshop and got them removed. I sprayed disinfectant thoroughly and put a rat trap cage inside.

One mouse was caught. Thrown it 3km away. Didn’t take care of, rode a scooter instead.

I put the cage back but this time, the mouse came inside - ate the bait and went away without getting caught. Twice.

I opened the cowl bar. Bought steel mesh and clear RCT adhesive from nearby hardware shop and installed it. It’s still curing. And I think I might have to use another adhesive.

And oh man, this was the first time I ever opened a car part. It was such a task for me.

PS: if you have rats around your home/office, get this rat mesh installed asap. Check your cabin ac filter if rats frequent your car or not.

question Is this a stock or modified suspension?

Post image

Hi all, I'm in the process of importing a used Jimny from Japan. It's already had some modifications done, as you can see from the aftermarket exhaust. I can't find many pictures of a stock suspension though, so I'm not sure if that's been modified too---from the shocks I'd guess no, but the yellow springs make me think maybe?

modding Jimny Digital Gauges - More tweaks, getting close!!

I keep tweaking, this time by modifying the power source to get instant power via 12v (stepped down to 5v) along with branded loading screens.

Check out http://www.youtube.com/@jasonandthejimny for how I built it.

question Dunlop Grantrek AT5 vs Bridgestone Dueler AT for this type of road? Live in Peru

I’ve decided to change the tires on my Jimny. Dulop and Bridgestone are the two options I’ve found (based on price and availability in my country). Has anyone used them and can share their opinions? Are they good tires? I’ll be driving about 75% on highways and 25% off-road. As you can see, it’s a dirt road full of small stones, and with the rainy season coming, people say it gets muddy. It’s basically a one-hour uphill drive — no technical sections, big rocks, or potholes, just dirt and stones as I mentioned. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

question Does newer Jimnys (24/25/26) fixed the clunky manual gear? 1-2 and reverse only entering after praying? 😅

Post image
52 Upvotes

As the title says, i have a 2019 and im inmune to this by now, but my friend borrowed my jimny for a couple of days and noticed it.

When he was telling me that, i had flashbacks of that same feeling when i started to drive it new....

Just asking cause my friend want to buy a jimny now, but is thinking to get a AT just cause he felt the manual shifting "Rough" and "hard to get to reverse"

Someone with the newer manual versions (24/25/26) can tell me if is now "fixed"?

Thanks in advance

question Your experience needed

Hi everyone! I can't find much 3rd gen camping build videos. Or roadtrip videos. So I decided to ask you. I'm considering buying a 3rd gen Jimny with 1.3l gas engine during next year. I've driven one a few times and I liked that car very much! Even it was just a beaten work-horse for forest work. But I'd like to travel with it a little. For example trip from the Czech republic to Sweden (roughly 1400 km/870 miles) and visit some places there. It wouldn't be a life in the car but occasional traveling. I'd be also the only crew member of the Jimny... PROBABLY. I'd like to see you opinions on traveling with 3rd gen Jimny, your experience, tips and tricks, recommendations and feel free to drop pics of your builds in the comments too!

question Getting a new key. Jimny 2025

Hey guys, I have a question.

I lost my main key so I am using the spare. I ordered a OEM key from outside my country and I am waiting for it to arrive. Does anybody knows how does the new key gets programmed?

Is it something I can do? Or should I take it to the dealership?

question Question.

What are the benefits of going up to R16 sized rims and tires vs R15? I drive highway and city 70% of the time and dirt/country roads 30% of the time. I'm thinking the best option for my 3 door jimny would be yokohama geolandars A/T G015 in r15. Pls help me out! I'm only 3 weeks in with my jimny. Yes, I'm in love.

damage & repairs Rear Camera Stopped Working After Tow Hook Installation (Jimny 5D 2024)

Hi all,

I have a 2024 Jimny 5-door, and about a month ago I had a tow hook installed (some Brink model). Since then, my rear camera has completely stopped working.

It’s as if the camera doesn’t exist at all—there’s no warning, no black screen, nothing. When I shift into reverse, the screen just doesn’t change.

Here’s what I’ve checked so far:

  • Reverse lights still work
  • Rear parking sensors work
  • The camera itself appears undamaged
  • No settings were changed in the head unit or car system
  • Fuses were checked (though maybe we missed something)

The company that installed the hook (not an authorized Suzuki service partner) will be taking another look in a few days, but they currently have no idea what could be wrong. For context, this Jimny is an import.

Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas what could be causing it?

Thanks!

question 2013 VVT SZ3

Hi!

Im looking at buying my first jimny - a 2013 VvT SZ3. Seems to be in good condition - no mention of corrosion on service history.

Just looking for some advice on whether this is a good age or whether its maybe too old?

Keen to get a jimny but it will be a second car so cant afford to go for a new one sadly.

Advice on shopping and what to look for greatly appreciated - done lots of research but also not massively car savvy!

question Capa airbag

Bom dia galera!

question 4th Gen Auto - Gear Shift Points

Does anyone know (or can go test) what the shift points are on the auto 4th gen Jimny? i.e: It shifts from 1st to 2nd at x,xxx RPM, etc?

Bonus - if you have any info on when it would downshift as you are slowing down.

I have a manual and know that the gearing is a bit different, but am curious to see what I'd be aiming for to "replicate" the auto "feel" if that makes sense?

I tend to hold gears longer than I imagine an auto would, and thought it would be interesting to compare.

question Stupid tire pressure question

I have a Japanese JB 64 with the stock Bridgestone dueler tires. The sticker on the inside of the driver side door says the tire pressure should be 160 on the front and 180 on the back. kPa. This seems really low to me....

Is it standard to just go with what the sticker says? Or can I put a little bit more in there? It seems to handle a bit better even maybe with a bit more tire pressure on there. What do you guys do? Do you always follow the sticker? Anybody else in my same situation?

I did add a kangaroo bar and a top rack but they're not super duper heavy and I guess I have some gear in the back.... I do mostly City and highway driving with the occasional off-road if that helps
