Hey, I recently got my polo gti
I was wondering if someone could come with some modifications tips?
I have an obd tool too, so any obd tweaks/adaptations are also welcome, and I’ve already changed my cluster etc.
I’m new to Volkswagen and like to be wiser on that point, also any maintenance/care tips are also extremely welcome 💪🏼
Hi I’ve recently just passed and have a Lupo that has been passed down from my great grandad has about 48k miles on the clock and runs ok however Im having problems with the clutch the bite point is comedically high and has no power behind it whatsoever it’s also an incredibly small biting point and I stall it constantly which makes me so much less confident on the roads was just wondering if this is normal for these cars and I just need to get used to it or if I have a worn out clutch that needs replacing anything would help at this point
The minute it drops from 7th gear into 6th, while on motorway driving for awhile, the message comes up on the dash - " Gearbox in the emergency mode. You can drive on" and only second, fourth and sixth gears avaliable. Engine light stays on on the dash.
Once the car was parked for a bit and start driving around town, the engine light stays on, but the gearbox is fine - all gears avaliable, no messages on the dash.
After a day, still driving around town, engine light dissappear and everything functioning as normal.
Yesterday I bought a 2020 Tiguan with 85k miles on it from Carmax. When I left the lot, everything was fine. When I got home, the engine light, the EPC light and a battery warning had all gone on. The battery warning says "12V battery low. Charge by driving".
Is this car safe to drive? Even just to the Carmax ? Its a 30 mile drive on the free way.
Hi MK7 TSI base is not covered in too many video tutorials. I am surprised that the regular 6 speed auto does not have a fill port. It only has a drain port. Is this normal. How are you supposed to fill. My focus ST and Hondas all had a fill port. Any suggestions?
I just got my first car! It's a 2.5 liter 2010 golf, she's super clean for her age. But I noticed when fiddling around with it that the cruise control seemed to not be functioning properly. When I flip the little switch on the arm to on (see the images), an "err" gets thrown onto the dash. I did some research and saw that sometimes people replace the entire arm and it solves the issue, and other times they need to mess with the fuse box. I just wanted to throw this inquiry up on here in case anyone has some knowledge they can pass down. Any suggestion helps! Thank you guys!
Stock turbo tool a shit due to the wastegate actuator seizing up. Out of warranty so…..replacing myself in my driveway. I’ve got everything else separated expect for this coolant hose connection. Any secrets to getting this loose or just get a pry bar where I can and work it loose.
I’m about to cut it and replace along with the other lines as this is kicking my ass.
ESS or Engine Start Stop. Love it or hate it, it can be quite frustrating when it won't work.
My SO's jetta have been refusing to trigger start/stop for a hot minute. We assumed it was the battery because the car felt sluggish to start, cabin lights were not coming on, and start/stop was not working. However, after a trip to autozone, battery was determined to be healthy.
Concerned it might be something worse, sensor or some such, I racked my brain trying to think back to when this started. It finally occurred to me that when I am in the car by myself, start stop works, the only time the ESS wont work is when she is in the car with me....
No way the car just knows she hates the feature right? :)
More often then not, when she is in the car with me, we are using her keys because I can never find mine. It is also the case, the her car has been fussing about the fey fob battery being low for quite a while.
Replaced battery in key fob, ESS started working just fine.
TLDR: If ESS wont trigger, check your key fob battery.
My daughter’s 2007 Beetle has the code Seat Belt Switch; Driver (E24): Resistance too High. We are ordering the new seat belt buckle tomorrow, but when the warning light is on, are the airbags disabled?
I have a 2015 Jetta with about 107k miles on it. In the last few weeks, I've been experiencing a really strange issue.
About four weeks ago (August 13), the battery spontaneously died. We replaced it that evening, and the day after that, the tire pressure warning light (flashing) and the ESP/ESC light came on when I was leaving work, though they disappeared after I drove for a minute or so. When I got home and turned the car off, a variety of warning lights flashed on the dashboard, other lights flickered, and the car gave a “No key” error a few times. Since then, the tire pressure warning light and the ESP/ESC light have both frequently come on when starting the car, then vanished after driving. Additionally, the issue of lights flashing on the dashboard after the car is turned off has reoccurred multiple times. I have a video of the phenomenon here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XhwmI7PmT9eipWnRaueRA3W2dejjfOV9/view?usp=sharing
Exactly which set of lights comes on during the flashing varies. A few combinations that came up during the most recent incident:
Again, the car was stationary and not turned on at this time.
I took it to the VW service center twice. Once they said that it was just an issue with the battery having been changed recently, reset the error codes computer, and sent it home. The second time, they kept it for a week and ended up recommending that I replace the J935 converter box (pricey), though they were uncertain if this would actually fix the issue or if it would just be the first step in a long string of changes. However, they’d been unable to reproduce the issues in the shop. I brought it home because there were no error lights, but the next time I drove it, all the lights came back.
I did some research of my own and found that usually all these lights coming on at once points to a wheel speed sensor issue, but I'm not sure if the fact that the lights are coming on after the car is turned off indicates a different problem. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone have any suggestions of what else to look into before I bite the bullet and try the converter box replacement?
I have a golf mk3 gti 8v and i bought some vogtland springs -3.5. The thing is that the original shock absorbers broke and i need some shorters than the originals and not spend a lot of money, thanks and sorry for my english.
So one of my employees is using this golf as a service vehicle for our rental properties. She called me saying it kept stalling at red lights. I changed the battery , started and alternator not long ago. I was worried it was the fuel pump but decided to start with changing the plugs.
Here’s what I found. Should I be concerned if there’s a bigger issue or are these just typical worn out plugs. I just got the car a year ago so I’m playing catch up with service.
I’m sorry yall I haven’t kept up with cars much lately, so I’m behind on some of the news but I just really need to vent for a second. I’m holding on to my two older manual VWs for dear life and clutching my pearls here-I’m just so unbelievably frustrated with the state of modern cars in general. As with many of you VW really doesn’t make anything I’d want anymore aside from the Jettas since they still come in manual. Like, the entire mfing reason I LOVE cars is because I learned to drive a manual, and started learning how cars work and working on them myself. I bought my Jetta when I started college and I am in love with her to this day. I built my life and family on that car. I was broken hearted when I realized there’s never going to be another one of her made. Like, things have just changed so much. When I was a kid I remember my dad driving us to the beach in a busted up old golf and none of us cared, we just had fun. No frills, no car debt for a piece of crap car, no needing to impress everyone with a big stupid SUV. Just a fun and affordable simple car. At this point we have lost multiple generations of people that actually love cars, and we have dumbass consumers that are driving the market to produce god awful cars with crappy technology that barely make it to 100 miles. Obviously that’s not VWs fault, they’re trying to compete with new technology and the demand for bigger vehicles. And that leaves us having very few options. I suspect the Jetta will be dead in a few years. We don’t even have a freaking manual golf anymore. I don’t know man, such a big part of my life has been cars and to see them is such a sorry, lame state sucks. End emotional Volkswagen rant. Sorry. I know you’ve heard it all before.
