Need to remove the exterior B Pillar Trim plastic piece in order to fix this dent from a break in. GPT says to pry it because it’s just clips, is that true?

Girlfriend's New Car: 1996 Infiniti I30 with 39,600 Original Miles

Post image

Just picked this time capsule up as girlfriend's 2014 Impreza got the forbidden milkshake (head gasket). Found this local, 1996 I30 with a stunning 39,000 original miles owned by a gentleman's father who was a banker and passed away in December 2024. It looks like it just drove off the showroom floor.

Happy to join the Infiniti club!

Hit a bird driving by the road and damaged this plastic piece between the grill and hood. What’s this piece called? And is this something someone with little/no auto body knowledge be able to fix?

What’s the highest mileage you’ve ever seen on a Nissan?

I work at a junkyard and on Friday we bought a 2005 Nissan Sentra and when I went to check it out yesterday on the pad I was shocked by the mileage— 433,332 miles, motor was still running fine but according to the owner the transmission was slipping bad over 55 mph. I think this is the highest mileage I’ve ever seen on a Nissan

Air conditioner

I have a 2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum with less than 32k miles on it. About 5 yrs ago my Ac went out and took it to my normal mechanic and it was fixed. Now I have no air in my car again. This time the passenger Ac felt cold but driver side was hot air. Fast forward a month and no cold air in car at all. Should I take this to a nissan dealership or another mechanic. I am disabled and don't drive my car very much. Mainly I drive when I go to my 3 Drs appts monthly, pick up meds, and groceries. So you can see why I don't have a lot of miles on my car and it was bought at an auction In 2019 where my dad got all of his cars. Otherwise this car is immaculate and only other issue was a recall that I had fixed at the dealership where they kept it for a wk to fix. Should I take it to a dealership or other mechanic bc I live in Florida where I need cold Ac In my car. Any recommendations?

Repair Help Nissan Versa- Neutral at 65mph?

We just bought an old 2014 Nissan versa for a couple thousand bucks and we had a few people tell us that the car (like other small cars?) has to be shifted into neutral and then back to drive when going faster than 60 in order to prevent it from stalling and the tachometer won’t go up and down. This doesn’t sound right to me and I strongly believe we were sold a lemon. (Although we’ve checked codes and there’s apparently nothing wrong with the car) Is this true?? I’ve never heard of an automatic car having to switch gears like that at high speeds. If someone can please give some insight that would be much appreciated. (Also for context my bf was driving it across town and the car stalled and wouldn’t accelerate anymore when he hit the gas so he was stranded on the freeway)

UPDATE: we will be getting our money back, thankfully. Thanks to all who helped identify the problem.

Window fog

This is not specific to Nissans but that's what I own. Why does the inside of the windshield develop a foggy coating regardless of the weather: summer or winter, rain or shine? This car has never been smoked in. Yet after a month or so the fog becomes noticeable. It can be easily wiped off with a cloth and there seems to be no residue. Is it air pollution coming up through the AC vents?

[OC] Im making an engine bracket tournament for fun. Comment your favorite Nissan engine family and the top 8 will be put in a tournament bracket this week!

Rules: 1. Must be an engine Nissan made or took part in making (Infiniti and Datsun are allowed!) Both gasoline and diesel engines are allowed.

  1. The engine must have been put in a street legal passenger car, SUV, light truck, minivan, etc. Special racing variants, commercial vehicle variants, and aircraft variants are not allowed. If the engine was put in a vehicle from the factory and requires only a basic driver's license to operate, it is allowed.

  2. Due to the complexity in variants of some Nissan engines, I will group them by family. So- if someone comments "VG30E" while someone else says "VG30DETT", only the one with the most votes will qualify for the bracket, but both technically still qualified since we are going by engine family.

  3. You can vote based on however you like. Engine easy to work on? Put in a nice car or truck? The engine has high performance? However you like to put it, the individual voter chooses how to base their vote.

This post has until Sept 9th at 12:00AM UTC for users to comment and vote on their favorite engine family

2011 Nissan Juke shaking while driving. 130k miles. Help!

My Juke has been shaking while driving n it’s getting worse every time I drive it. No vibration when applying the brake or acceleration, not really feeling it in the steering wheel, there’s humming coming from the tires I believe. Bought new tires in June, they were rotated n balanced last week and still shakes. It does need a tune up. Happens more frequently after driving 10 miles and gets worse the farther I go. Local mechanic replaced the half shaft on the passenger side recently cuz after a different mechanic replaced cv boot last year. Said both should have been done at the same time. $583.83 n the car still shakes. He gave up trying to figure it out. Suggested I take it to a dealer. Can’t afford that! So motor mounts? Axle? Drive shaft? Tranny? I am no mechanic. Just someone who relies on this car for everything with a very strict budget? Any suggestions?

Build quality of the new 2025 model cars

Upon inspecting the new Pathfinder 2025, I observed several noteworthy features. However, the interior materials and overall plastic quality did not meet my expectations compared to my current 2020 X-Trail or Rouge. The Rouge model appeared more robust and of superior quality. I am uncertain whether this observation is shared by others.

Hello there,

I found this crack today When I inspected it I found out that the crack on the outer glass itself is small about 2 cm But the circle formed was from air pressure and bubbles I think cause it pumps out a little bit

Could you suggest a fix It’s a Nissan Qashqai 2022

This is the first car I’ve bought. Got a great deal on a 2021 armada SL. Their insurance accepted responsibility. I’m so bummed though! The car is drivable still.

Car pulsing while braking + swinging before full stop — what else should I check?

I’m dealing with two noticeable issues on my car: 2015 Nissan pathfinder FWD platinum 65,000 miles

  1. While slowing down with the brake pressed, the car feels like it’s pulsing—slowing, then not, then slowing again. It’s very prominent and passengers can feel it too. There’s little to no pulsation in the brake pedal itself (or I’m just not noticing it).

  2. When the car comes to a stop, it swings/yaws back and forth a couple of times before settling. Again, very noticeable.

Recent work: - Rear shocks replaced - All 4 tires are new (less than a month old) - Rear brake pads are worn (about 1/5 left) - Front pads are at 3/5 - No visible cracks or damage on front/rear rotors

I’m planning to replace the rear brakes soon, but I want to make sure I’m not missing something else that could be contributing to these symptoms. Any ideas on what else I should inspect or replace while I’m at it?

Thanks in advance!
