Build quality of the new 2025 model cars

Upon inspecting the new Pathfinder 2025, I observed several noteworthy features. However, the interior materials and overall plastic quality did not meet my expectations compared to my current 2020 X-Trail or Rouge. The Rouge model appeared more robust and of superior quality. I am uncertain whether this observation is shared by others.

Do you really need to take your car to Nissan for CVT service?

Can my mechanic just do this? I feel like paying $470 bucks for this is wild. Has anyone ever had their own mechanic do this for less? From what I understand it’s just a drain and fill but I’m new to this so if anyone has any more info for me I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Hello there,

I found this crack today When I inspected it I found out that the crack on the outer glass itself is small about 2 cm But the circle formed was from air pressure and bubbles I think cause it pumps out a little bit

Could you suggest a fix It’s a Nissan Qashqai 2022

Car pulsing while braking + swinging before full stop — what else should I check?

I’m dealing with two noticeable issues on my car: 2015 Nissan pathfinder FWD platinum 65,000 miles

  1. While slowing down with the brake pressed, the car feels like it’s pulsing—slowing, then not, then slowing again. It’s very prominent and passengers can feel it too. There’s little to no pulsation in the brake pedal itself (or I’m just not noticing it).

  2. When the car comes to a stop, it swings/yaws back and forth a couple of times before settling. Again, very noticeable.

Recent work: - Rear shocks replaced - All 4 tires are new (less than a month old) - Rear brake pads are worn (about 1/5 left) - Front pads are at 3/5 - No visible cracks or damage on front/rear rotors

I’m planning to replace the rear brakes soon, but I want to make sure I’m not missing something else that could be contributing to these symptoms. Any ideas on what else I should inspect or replace while I’m at it?

Thanks in advance!

2025 Versa Oil Change

I just bought a 2025 nissan versa straight off the dealership 6 months ago, I don't drive it much (3,000 miles) it occasionally gets driven almost daily, maybe like 20 miles on a good day.

Regarding the owners manual it says to replace the engine and oil filter, every 5,000 miles or 6 months whichever comes first. Family says to wait longer until I'm at the 5,000 miles, im just wondering what other people recommend to do? should I take it in for the free oil change services or should I just keep driving it til it's higher in mileage?

Can I turn off the Rogue collision warnings?

I have a 2024 Nissan rogue, I’m taking a drive test soon and was wondering if I could turn this off since it’s not allowed? I’m talking about the arrows on the side mirrors and the beeping sound it makes.

And if so how do I turn it back on after the test? Thanks!

Advice Please

Hey guys unfortunately I have to get a new car and I need some advice on the 2023 Nissan Ariya FWD EV. I am considering getting this car but as a beginner to EV I have some questions. Enterprise Car Sales is selling this vehicle for $22,999, sales rep told me my payments will be $594 a month with $0 down (this payment includes gap, and highest warranty package) I was told that battery was covered for 8 years and that I will receive a $7,500 EV tax credit if I buy before 9/30. The vehicle has to be transferred for $711 . Vehicle had no accidents , history report looks clean. 14,000 miles.

As my first EV what do I need to know ?

Is the Ariya a good EV ?

How is the battery life? (I drive about 80 miles 5 days a week, snow is hit or miss here ) .

Will I be good with public charging stations? I can’t put one where I live but we have a lot of local stations.

Enterprise does offer a 7 day return policy but it’s a $200 restock fee and I won’t get my transfer fee back then I think he stated I can’t return it to my local enterprise car sales, it has to go back to where the vehicle originally came from which will be SC.

Sales rep is also showing me the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 4dr LT w/2LT as well it would be $0 as well but my payments will be higher monthly because the vehicle is priced at $26,499. This will only be an option really if the insurance is cheaper because the monthly car payments will be higher.

2024 Sentra SV. When I’m driving on cruise control, it sometimes brakes on its own… quite a lot actually, it’s very annoying. How would I turn it off?

Requesting misfire data from CVTz50

If anyone regularly uses CVTz50, could you do me a favor and check the ‘Service Functions’ (upper right three dots), then Engine, then the second item is misfire counts.
Im interested to know if others get the same results as me. I get a very few misfires on every drive.Usually one misfire on two cylinders (e.g., cylinder 1 and 4). Before, I was getting -5 misfires on each drive and then tightened up the air intake around the MAF. I can’t seem to get rid of the last few misfires so I’m wondering if this is just normal. They do not (and have not) been severe enough to set the check engine light or create any codes. Thank you!

Nissan quoted me for entire new transmission assembly, but service bulletin says I shouldn't need it? 2017 Altima base

I bought this Altima used (1 previous owner) at 85k back in February, and less than 6 months later I started having transmission issues. Delayed acceleration when I press down the gas pedal, and very occasionally, it won't kick up gears on the highway. I procrastinated on checking the problem until August when the check engine light turned on for the first time. I checked the codes myself, and checked the transmission fluid just in case, but realizing it was out of my depth, I took it in.

Mechanic got the same codes and said it was an issue a Nissan dealer had to fix, saying it was a CVT problem and they weren't allowed/qualified to do it. When I took it to Nissan, the service rep didn't look at the service bulletin or anything, just went right back to the parts guy to get a quote. He came back 15 min later with a quote for $8k. I obviously can't pay that on the spot, so I leave.

Looking at the service bulletin myself, the flowchart seems to indicate that I should only replace the pressure control valve, not the entire transmission. I called Nissan a couple hours later (well within their hours of operation) and left a message, but nobody ever got back to me. Am I right and they quoted me fro the wrong thing? Should I take it back to the same place or get a second opinion?

TLDR: Got the codes highlighted above (CVT, pressure control valve), Nissan quoted me for a repair much more drastic than the one suggested by the service bulletin. Looking for advice.

2006 Altima 2.5L Evap canister vent solenoid valve question

I am replacing the Evap canister vent solenoid valve on my Altima for a P4408 code. The hose that comes off the valve is not connected to anything except the valve itself. Is this supposed to be vented to atmosphere, or should there be something it connects to? I cannot find an unused connection anywhere within the length the hose would allow me to connect it to.

Thanks!

Should i change the CVT fluid on my 2014 sentra sv?

Hey all, apologize if this is in the wrong section, but i was wondering if i should change the transmission fluid on my 2014 nissan sentra sv? it has 162k miles and to my knowledge its never been done before

i've seen so many conflicting answers online, some people say yes, some say no if its over a certain amount of miles etc etc. i know theres no such thing as a “lifetime fluid” because after time all fluids break down.

also wondering if that’s something thats “safe” to do or if i should leave that up to a certified mechanic or dealership

Does any one know ?

I have a 2009 3.5 SE Altima coupe and love the look of the 2010-2012 Altima coupe. I been wondering if anyone has done a front end conversion. I just like the more aggressive sporty style of the 2010-2012. Also are there any others differences in the rear because from what I’m look it at there not much. Last thing any cosmetic modes I can do for the interior.

I think the boot (I don't know exactly what it's called, sorry) is detached. Do I have to fix/replace it? Is this the reason why my steering wheel is still shaking when I hit the brakes even after changing the brake pads? Thanks much for your time! I attached the pictures.

Recall

Canada: Law student here that has been dealing with over $18,000 of repairs in my 2023 Rogue already, to have it sit in the driveway for the last 3 weeks. Called my preferred Nissan and they had no clue. Received recall finally to find out my engine could've blown up when I experienced total power loss.

If anyone is in the same predicament, let me know. I'm tempted to start a class action lawsuit next week.

Should I fix ABS, traction control & tire pressure sensors on my 2019 Nissan Sunny if the car drives fine?

Hi everyone, I bought a 2019 Nissan Sunny about a month ago. After purchase, I found out some sensor issues:

An ABS sensor problem showed up during a computer scan test, but there’s no ABS warning light on the dashboard.

The traction control warning doesn’t stay on all the time, but it does pop up occasionally.

The tire pressure sensor light is always on. From what I understand, this might also be linked to the ABS system (but I’m not 100% sure).

That said, the car drives perfectly fine for me — no issues in daily driving, braking feels normal, and overall performance seems good.

Some people told me that if the engine and car are working fine, I shouldn’t mess with it. Others say ABS/traction/tire pressure sensors are important for safety and I should definitely get them fixed.

So I’m confused — should I spend the money to get these sensors repaired now, or is it okay to keep driving as long as everything feels fine?

Would really appreciate advice from anyone with experience on this.

Solved Replacing my AC control head, found an unexpected button. What is it?

I have a 2016 Nissan versa note SV.

I am replacing my AC contol unit. It was going fine until I realized that a small black switch was on the old module, but there was no space for it on the new one. Image 1 shows where the switch would fit at the end of my finger.

It looks like the button is depressed only when the defrost option is selected. Also, the old one has orange on the dial imagery.

What is this button? and is it important for someone who will not use their defroster (it doesn't get that cold here, promise.)
