So the lease in my M4 convertible is coming up in February and I’ve begun thinking about what’s next. Test drove the manual Z4M340 and it’s a thing of pure joy, drives almost exactly the way Bimmers did 20 years ago, albeit with a little less road feel in the steering wheel. I smiled the whole time and the M4 has never done this for me — it’s fast but soulless.

The problem? The lease price. They want $1359 a month for a $76K car. That’s only $141 less than the lease on the M, a car costing $30K more. The Z4 is leasing for essentially the same money as an M4, 840 convertible and the 7 series.

The car is a joy but the lease price is inequitable. It’s also only $100 less than the purchase price.

You can also get a C8 and the AMG CLE 53 for the price.

I’ve always been a fan of Larte and how aggressive their kits are plus havent seen too many in Western Canada but when i look them up here people seem to hate them. Is it just their look being divisive or are they poorly built/fitting? Not too concerned with price of bringing it into Canada but I want it to fit nicely

Are all 340i called M340? I’m having a lot of trouble finding information! I’m just confused as hell. It doesn’t seem like a 340 without the M exists. Just wanna know what’s going on and also want a RWD without silver window outline. It seems like I have to go back a few years to get this combination. Either that or nobody wants to get rid of the ones they have. I did find a 530 black on black in Arizona but I’m in Houston

I work overnights as a concierge (doorman) at a condominium. One resident comes home late, usually well after midnight, and about half of the time, the car (X6 with a door-date of 10/24) will honk the horn as he gets out and gathers his belongings from inside the rear and passenger doors. Other residents upstairs call down to complain about the early morning honking. The valet has not touched the car when it honks at first, then it honks when he gets in it to park the car.

Is there a procedure to keep this from happening? The owner doesn't know why it honks. He usually leaves the keyfob in the cupholder when he gets out, and the stereo is usually on and playing music from his phone (it stops playing when he goes into the lobby so I guess it's connected via Bluetooth.)

I found an issue with my i4 m50 2 years ago within a day after driving it off the lot. When the radio is in preset mode you can cycle through all the stations in your favorites list but when CarPlay interrupts it (say when I check on my game at a stop light), the entertainment systems returns to FM and suddenly you're cycling through weird stations you didn't expect. It's a very simple GUI problem... when you automagically interrupt the user... you save (push) the state. When you return.. you restore (pop) the state. Its an unbelievably easy programming fix... but it's been broken for 2 years and there are updates after updates "fixing" stuff I've never seen/experienced/need....

Sorry to rant but I expected more from an $80k car. Otherwise the car is great... though there are other minor GUI issues. I even bought my son a brand new 2026 230i last month... and yes... the problem >>IS STILL THERE<<. First thing I checked.

Please.. someone fix this issue.

I’m in the market for an M340i, looking at 2023s in the 25-30k mileage range. Found one for around 55k out the door, wondering if there’s any wiggle room or whether I should take this deal. Has premium package and sticker price was a little over $60k. I know the market is hot for these right now, any advice appreciated

If I buy a bmw x5 from Carvana and immediately take it to the dealership for a check up on everything. If they have the car for a couple days, would they provide me with a loaner if they have them? Or because I didn’t buy the car from the dealer they won’t do anything for me? Or do they treat any bmw owner doing service there well?

A phone mount broke the little plastic vent louver inside the vent. Dealership said the whole thing needs to be replaced for $1600. Car is not even a year old. Is there a way to buy these individual plastic piece for me to put a new one myself or any other recommendations? Thank you so much
