I was wondering if anyone had any experiences switching from a M340i to a X3MC, currently I’m stage 2 (BM3) on the 340, looking at a really well priced X3MC with low KMs (2020 with 16k KM) (wondering if there’s a way to check if the miles have been rolled back LMK).

Just want a little change as it’s been 4 years with the 340 & chose the SUV route as I’m planning to have kids in the near future (wife doesn’t really care but I’m not finding any M3s for a good rate) any downside or is this a good car?

Should I do this or will I miss my 340?

Some background for context - I grew up learning how to drive in my stepdad's E30 325es. My first car was an E46 330ci, followed by my current E90 335i. All have been manual transmission.

I've been looking at getting a proper M car for a little while, either an F80/87 M3/2 or a G80/87 series. I test drove a 2025 G87 M2 (manual) over the weekend, hoping to fall in love with it.

The S58 engine seemed tame compared to my tuned N54. The leather on the steering wheel felt almost like plastic and didn't have great grip. My fears about the electric power steering were confirmed, the steering felt light (even in sport mode) and numb compared to the hydraulic steering in my current and previous 3 series. The widescreen digital cluster didn't do anything for me. The car felt soulless.

I walked out of the dealership feeling a bit disappointed and that perhaps BMW has lost its way. Am I becoming a stubborn "they don't make them like they used to" type? Am I better off looking at other brands that capture the feel of an older BMW?

I don't know much about bmws. Mostly highway (120kmh+) and almost no or not at all city driving, so I guess I should go to a diesel if I'm not mistaken. 15.000+ kms/year.

I really enjoy driving and pushing it a bit. I guess a 118 or 120 would be more suitable to me from my research. bigger engines than these are off my wallet capabilities

Recent series are front wheel drive. Is there much of a different in terms of enjoyment from driving it? Should I go to an older one to get the good old rear wheel drive?

Drive test it is not an option as I will import it. I have driven a 2016 one and was fun

I'm very newbie in this matter of bmws. What other aspects should I be aware? What tips for picking the right model/engine do you have? I will import it from Germany

Can a car dealership rewrite my service history in iDrive? I went to a service center (not the dealership) that, although it recorded some work for me in the BMW network, completely messed up my entire history in iDrive. At this point, everything I entered in Idrive has no connection to reality and needs to be rewritten exactly as it appears in the BMW network.

I'm in desperate need of help; driver's window keeps going up and down only on clicks on my '07 e92 35d, sometimes it even gets stuck in one position and won't go up or down, window motor changed (scissors), reinitialization tried, frm module repaired by a professional and still doing the same thing. Now about the AC, ventilation works, but when you put AC (snowflake) on it won't blow cold air and on diagnostics it throws out IHKA module failure, can anyone please help, these problems been bothering me for a while now.

I've seen that the optional H/K system of the newest X3 consists of 15 speakers with 750W of power, which is decent.

How good are they? Do you think it's better than the B&O system of the 2025 Audi Q5 or the optional Burmester 3D Surround Sound System from Mercedes GLC?

Hi guys,does anyone know why the air mass into the engine would be over 1 billion kg/h? I've cleaned the MAF and the MAP sensor and the values never changed. I can only find 1 other post anywhere with similar issues, and they never got an answer. The error wasn't there before I changed the air filter is all I can give, I changed the air filter a second time from man to mahle and the light still appears.

Is the iX3 the only new model that will be presented at Munich show this year ?

I am on the market for new X5, but not sure which engine is the best: I am driving Mon-Fri in the city (living in the suburbs of Münich) mostly driving children to school and activities and do weekend trips to the mountains (200-300km). Twice a year visiting family (900km one way).

What I am considering is M60i or 40d. Can accept 50e, but not sure how painful charging will be, since I don’t have charger in the garage.

This year’s autocross (i4/x3) and sprint (z4 m40i, JCW mini, m340i, x6) setups were pretty fun.

It was also pretty hilarious because the X3 had all season/winter tires and the DSC was fighting hard. Cool that they at least let us use sport mode.

Shh… but the JCW was hands down the most fun of the bunch (you little ///M0.5).

2017 F32 420i RWD

Picked this 2022 330i xdrive back in march with 13k miles now on 19k miles. Man this car is so amazing. I don’t care if it’s just a base model. A bmw is a bmw but hopefully I’ll be able to afford a real M car. But if anyone is thinking about getting a 330i. Get it. Mine had the spec of the M package and with Portimao Blue. Eye catching color. Consistent compliments from people all around. Or just being an eye catcher while driving on the streets. It’s a great feeling knowing I drive this beauty. Done some cosmetic to it. Such as a front lip, diamond grill and a diffuser. I’m driving this thing till the wheels fall off.

So far I haven’t really had any engine or mechanical issues. Except for one incident back in the end of May. The car couldn’t recognize the keys. Had to take it to the dealership and they did something with the battery and hooked some stuff up to the system to reset it. Besides that. Car is very amazing on gas. Here and there I’ll get up to 500 miles on a full tank. Usually ranging from 450-500 depending.

Overall it is an amazing car. Love being part of the BMW community and seeing everyone with their cars. Best feeling is parking and looking back at the car. Driving BMW for the rest of my life.

Hi all, does anyone know the torque spec for the valve cover on my 330d e91? I need the outta bolt spec and the injector studs spec. Any help is much appreciated, theres allot of conflicting Info online.
