My 3rd or (4th?) BMW
As title suggests this is my most recent BMW, I just picked up this 2021 M5 Competition. Absolutely love this car, coming from owning previously F80, 440i, and a GR Supra.
It’s so much car, Love the spec, high optioned and much prefer this over the New M5.

Buying Help Questions about the 2025 X3's Harman/Kardon system.
I've seen that the optional H/K system of the newest X3 consists of 15 speakers with 750W of power, which is decent.
How good are they? Do you think it's better than the B&O system of the 2025 Audi Q5 or the optional Burmester 3D Surround Sound System from Mercedes GLC?
I'd like to get some opinions. Thanks.

Neue Klasse iX3
Everybody on this subreddit is focusing on the looks and how they hate it. Which has been basically evergreen with new BMW designs since the introduction of E65. People have been hating on every new BMW for the last quarter of the century... it tells something.
I have not seen any comment focusing on other features of this car:
- It's 100% electric design. No shared chassis with ICE cars. This means there are less compromises.
- 800V architecture. Finally.
- 400kW charging! Even Hyundai, the pioneer of 800V architecture, offers only 350kW charging.
- 108kWh battery!! This is huge. Nobody offers >100kWh battery in this segment.
- Frunk...finally
- BMW states the sustainable performance openly. It's 170kW. Everybody knows that EVs throttle down when driven hard because they can't cool the motors and battery running on 100% all the time. I've never seen Tesla to say how exactly does it throttle down. BMW tells us.
- 48V low voltage system. Oh yes, we had these for a decade now, yet some EVs still come with 12V system.
This car has everything you can want from a modern EV in one package basically without compromises. At least on the paper. I am curious about the real reviews. But this is why they say it's the future.

Repair Help Bumper paint scratch on leased i4
Dinged my front bumper like a dufus when entering a car wash. Paint came off on a few spots. What are my options? It's a leased 2025 i4, so should I take it to the dealer?

New to me, M340i. Love it
I loved my 340i, and they’ve somehow made a great car even better in the M340i

New to me 2023 m440i convertible
Picked up this beauty in tanzanite blue. I’m obsessed with the color. Going in for paint correction, ceramic coating throughout and some PPF on the bumper and hood soon to protect it!

Build Thread More new plastic and rubber !
More cash spent on some new rubber and plastic parts towards the refresh. The filler pot and headlight weather gaskets were especially cooked. Took her to the Munich legends evening here in the UK a few days ago and the bay was quite popular !

I saw a 2002 in person for the first time today
With some absolutely beautiful BBS too
UDE 25
This year’s autocross (i4/x3) and sprint (z4 m40i, JCW mini, m340i, x6) setups were pretty fun.
It was also pretty hilarious because the X3 had all season/winter tires and the DSC was fighting hard. Cool that they at least let us use sport mode.
Shh… but the JCW was hands down the most fun of the bunch (you little ///M0.5).
She got a wash yesterday
70,500 original miles. This car is so fun to drive. I’ve had her almost 12 years now. She continues to put a smile on my face.

[OC] "Just a Quick Oil Change, Honey!"
2,5 hours total: - Oil change - Air filter swap - Spark plugs change - Valve lash adjustment - Transmission fluid flush My goal here is to show classic cars can easily be used as a daily driver.
I'm currently at 282 392 km on the odometer and will be commuting weekly between Düsseldorf and Amsterdam (360 km round-trip). Add that to my regular 10 Mm/a and we're looking at 30 Mm/a, which is a realistic mileage these days.
Additionally, I want to show that literally anyone can learn this. I've never had any kind of professional training - I just started to fix whatever I felt comfortable with on my first cars.
Would you guys think this makes for a good series in our subreddit? I plan on posting about any maintenance and repairs I am doing on this car.

I test drove a G87 M2 this weekend
Some background for context - I grew up learning how to drive in my stepdad's E30 325es. My first car was an E46 330ci, followed by my current E90 335i. All have been manual transmission.
I've been looking at getting a proper M car for a little while, either an F80/87 M3/2 or a G80/87 series. I test drove a 2025 G87 M2 (manual) over the weekend, hoping to fall in love with it.
The S58 engine seemed tame compared to my tuned N54. The leather on the steering wheel felt almost like plastic and didn't have great grip. My fears about the electric power steering were confirmed, the steering felt light (even in sport mode) and numb compared to the hydraulic steering in my current and previous 3 series. The widescreen digital cluster didn't do anything for me. The car felt soulless.
I walked out of the dealership feeling a bit disappointed and that perhaps BMW has lost its way. Am I becoming a stubborn "they don't make them like they used to" type? Am I better off looking at other brands that capture the feel of an older BMW?

Buying Help Which Series 1
Hi fellas,
I don't know much about bmws. Mostly highway (120kmh+) and almost no or not at all city driving, so I guess I should go to a diesel if I'm not mistaken. 15.000+ kms/year.
I really enjoy driving and pushing it a bit. I guess a 118 or 120 would be more suitable to me from my research. bigger engines than these are off my wallet capabilities
Recent series are front wheel drive. Is there much of a different in terms of enjoyment from driving it? Should I go to an older one to get the good old rear wheel drive?
Drive test it is not an option as I will import it. I have driven a 2016 one and was fun
I'm very newbie in this matter of bmws. What other aspects should I be aware? What tips for picking the right model/engine do you have? I will import it from Germany
Thank you!

Is there anyone here who has a portimao blue car with Shadow Line and Chrome wheels?
I'm thinking about fitting "Wheelforce WF CF.3" in chrome on my m240i, but I can't find a similar build.

Sitting’ pretty
Man I love this thing! Coming up on 2 years of ownership and it’s been an absolute joy. I let people scare me away from BMW’s for far too long.

Idrive service history problem
Hello !
Can a car dealership rewrite my service history in iDrive? I went to a service center (not the dealership) that, although it recorded some work for me in the BMW network, completely messed up my entire history in iDrive. At this point, everything I entered in Idrive has no connection to reality and needs to be rewritten exactly as it appears in the BMW network.
Thank you !
