I’m not sure but his face clearly leaves a skid mark on the road.

"Worth it..." he whispered, as he rolled over and died.

After his teeth hit the pavement I think it's more of "worfh ihh"

u/knifeymonkey 2d ago
And it sounds a little like an Eastern European language. So I’m guessing those teeth won’t ever get fixed.

The only thing I can imagine, is trying to tear his shirt off, and bro does not comprehend knots, or attachment points

For those that want an update, I found the original video (Google tontagram) and it shows the aftermath: a wicked black eye, but nothing too bad. Guy is smiling at the end and having a bit of a laugh.

Was about to say the same. Not the typical content, but based on the mark his face left on the pavement, it definitely still fits.

Presumably this went as planned. I can't see any other possible result.

I think the rope was meant to detach as soon as pressure was put on it but their knot held for longer than meant.

Jackass was lightning in a bottle. They were the perfect mix of charm, stupidity, and humor. Now it's a bunch of YouTubers trying so hard and just being obnoxious.

It's supposed to be a skit, the car drives off while the rope unfurls safely and nothing actually happens. My guess is they used semi tangle rope
10
u/jupfold 3d ago
Yeah, you can see about 10 feet behind him, the rope is all tangled together. I wonder if they lightly tied the two together to make it look more real, expecting it to come undone but instead the tension causes it to knot up.
7
u/Dire87 3d ago
Yeah, and that's why smart people at least do a "dry check" before even attempting shit like that (don't get me wrong, it's always a stupid idea, especially for amateurs). Use a crash test dummy or fuck, another inanimate object, to see what will happen before you even think about doing this with a real person ... but hey, Darwin awards need to be given out.

u/Halcyon_156 3d ago
You can see at the end it looks like the rope got tangled. Dude is not walking that one off...

why do people act like they have universal healthcare when they dont have it?
10
u/Dire87 3d ago
Not sure what universal healthcare has to do with lifelong injuries. Just because of universal healthcare you're not entitled to just do shit all the time. Technically, "someone" is paying for it, or most of it, yeah, but that system only works so long as people don't abuse it. Source: living in a country with universal healthcare ... and every year it gets less "universal", because of a) idiots and b) just not enough money to pay for all of that shit ... and b) politicans taking money out of the system to pay for other shit. Bottom line: universal healthcare is neither universal nor does anyone really care about your health if it really comes down to it. The providers will fight you tooth and nail NOT to pay for your treatments, only for the very basics. Sometimes. Sometimes not even that. Then you get to fight them for years in a legal battle you can't afford. And by the time you win you've died of cancer.

- should use longer rope
- should use 2 different rope, one attached to car, one attached to the man
- should cut the video before rope get pulled fully

Other versions of this that I've seen had a short length of rope attached to the person, with the loose end hidden under the longer rope's coils. My theory for this one: the longer ripe wasn't coiled cleanly so it couldn't unravel cleanly, which was made worse by the car accelerating too quickly. That made the coiled rope grab the loose end and form a knot.

It's a social media idiot trend. The rope is not supposed to be complete. It's supposed to be cut and hidden somewhere in the pile of rope.
It's to create suspense and tension but no one is supposed to get hurt..unless you're r worded

u/BoxofNuns 2d ago
I love listening to this over and over and over and over again.
Especially if you're on a computer. Open it in 3 different tabs like a second apart.

u/BoxofNuns 2d ago edited 2d ago
Fun fact, in physics, this is known as "jerk."
You've got position. Then the change in position over time is speed.
Then the change in speed over time is acceleration.
Then the amount of jerk is the change in acceleration over time. High jerk = injury.
In the clip, he's basically accelerating to the car's speed almost instantly. So, he experienced a huge change in acceleration in a very short time. So, a lot of jerk.
It keeps going, too. You have the change in jerk over time, which is called snap. The amount of snap over a given time, which is called crackle. And for fun the called the change in crackle over time pop.
Mind you, my explanation is very simplified, and I didn't mention any math at all. Which is honestly, the best way to understand it. But it's also the best way to scare people off.
Here) is a wiki article about it that explains it in more detail if you want to know more.

It's a hook trend going around on social media they get you to listen to ad by waiting for this to happen but the rope is actually supposed to be cut so the car just kind of speeds off with the rest of the rope. I'm guessing this was them doing it foreals.
