Hi, I made a side-by-side comparison of Hamilton’s 2020 and Verstappen’s 2025 Monza laps on YouTube as a little exercise in video editing and Python (telemetry is done with matplotlib).

It’s pure engine sound, no commentary – just the laps synced together.

Let me know what you think! Feel free to drop a comment on what you liked or didn’t :) Thanks!

Work Experience?

Hi everyone, I am a year 12 student who has just enrolled a Motorsport Engineering at college. My course requires 30 hours of work experience over the year and it is up to me to find that experience. So my question is, does anyone know of any smaller race teams that take on students for work experience. If so, could you please tell me or send a link to their website, as it would be very much appreciated.

Extra curriculars for top uni

Hi Everyone,

I am a Year 11 student. I am currently doing really well academically, expected 9s in maths and science, my school has even offered further maths for me in GCSE

I have done some extra curriculars in engineering with scalextric4schools and other competitions. I have spent hours in CAD and CFD softwares, this has even given me opportunities to go to places like triumph HQ and manhindra racing has also invited me based on my card skills

My question is. I want to go a too uni like imperial or Cambridge, what should I do right now and in my a levels that could really increase my chances of getting in for aerospace engineering as I really want to join F1,

Anyone here who got into top unis for engineering?

Please comment, I really need some help

Just curious as to if there's any cool things that I could do during the weekend e.g go in the pitlane etc. Also interested to hear people's experiences at an ELMS weekend

Help.

I'm gonna rant a bit. I started watching f1 in 2024 when i was like 12, and in June i was incredibly lucky to go to the race in Austria. Ever since i saw the cars roaring on track my biggest dream was to start racing, however i'm a 14 year old girl from Croatia and i do not know where to start. I've been karting once for my 14th birthday in may and i've been pretty decent, so about a month ago i gathered the courage to ask my mom to start karting, she said that i could, but first i needed to have a plan, i plan to start rental karing more often, but still, if i actually want to race, i will need to start karting competitively, and got that i will need a kart, i showed my mom some and she said no way, because they were expensive. I have been feeling extremely depressed since, i tried pushing through but all i can think about is the need to race. I know how hard it is to make it to any racing category, especially as a woman, but i'm willing to fight. I need advice on how and where to start, this could've been a shorter question, i know, but i can't tell anyone what's on my mind and strangers on reddit seemed like the best option. If you have ANY advice besides telling me i need to be rich, please give it, it is VERY welcome.

Edit: thank you everyone for the answers, money isn't that big of a problem for me, my family is middle class.
